Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines), Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Passport America discount (with cash). Previous reviews pretty much tell the tale. This park is kind of an "old Florida" no frills park. Narrow gravel/grass sites but we have seen smaller. Park is well maintained. Roads are narrow sand with one way traffic. Wi-Fi worked well. Sprint data good, voice fair. Verizon voice and data good. Easy off/on I-75/I-10. We would stay here again for overnight. We camped at Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines) in a Motorhome.

Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground, Elko, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects 2 nights at Passport America (50%) and 1 night at FMCA (10%) discount. PA is cash only payment. We like this park so much we decided to stay 3 nights even though we had no reason to stay in area. Sites are packed gravel with a concrete pad for picnic table. Sites are good sized. Great people running the place, good utilities and facilities. Sprint and Verizon voice and data worked well. Campground Wi-Fi good. We camped at Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Renfro Valley KOA, Mount Vernon, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the good KOAs. Check in was efficient. Site was spacious: asphalt pull through and long enough we did not have to unhook our towd for the one night stay (site 16). No satellite (too many trees) but good cable selection. Sprint reception excellent. Road in is as described: one way narrow and steep. Exit is two way and steep. We would stay again. We camped at Renfro Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Timberline Valley RV Resort, Anderson, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for one month and liked this park. It is clean, quiet, and well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. About 1/2 the sites are gravel, rest grass. About 25% seasonal/permanent: no junk. Small lake for fishing/swimming. Sites are adequate sized with green space in rear of back in sites. Only a few sites are rooftop satellite friendly so be sure and ask: no cable. We had good WiFi (we were close to office). Sprint reception was fair data, poor voice; Verizon fair data, good voice, ATT poor to fair both voice and data. Some decent restaurants, shopping and a casino within easy driving distance. We will return here. We camped at Timberline Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sweetwater / I-75 / Exit 62 KOA, Sweetwater, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We put this park in our list of good KOA locations. Clean, well maintained campground. Family lives on site and personally involved with day to day operations. Sites are good sized and reasonably level. Too many trees for our liking but lots of shade and cable was better than most rv parks. Forget roof top satellite at most sites. Utilities and power good. Park WiFi is good, but it is satellite so speeds are not the best. Sprint/Verizon/ATT voice and data connectivity were good. We camped at Sweetwater / I-75 / Exit 62 KOA in a Motorhome.

Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA, Cartersville, Georgia

It is hard to find much wrong with this KOA except per night cost but KOA pricing is what it is. We were here for an overnight. Check in was quick, the site was good and a reasonable size with good power and electric. Wi-Fi worked well, Sprint and Verizon voice and data worked well. Quiet and well maintained campground. We camped at Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA in a Motorhome.

Good overnight stop. Large pull through sites, level gravel with lots of grass. No picnic tables at sites but they may be available: we did not ask. Easy access and lots of room to maneuver. Good 50 Amp Power and good water pressure. Verizon/Sprint data and voice worked well here. We camped at Cecil Bay RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bay Bayou RV Resort, Tampa, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Rate indicates a mid summer stay 3/pay 2 special. This is a well run, mainly snowbird park: well maintained and quiet. Our site was grass with a concrete patio, some were improved with stone/shells. Wooded sites, enough so that we did not even attempt roof mounted satellite TV. Cable works very well: 40 channels, including HBO. WiFi worked well, as did our Verizon, ATT, and Sprint data worked well, as did Verizon and Sprint voice. Very nice pool area and clubhouse. A few supplies in store, but they do sell ice cream. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Topeekeegee Yugnee Park / Whispering Pines, Hollywood, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is per day for week stay. This park is inside a large county park. Large asphalt sites with a larger concrete patio. Utilities on our site (25) were not at the end - some sites have that placement. No shade. Some road and train noise but not a problem at night while sleeping. Park is busy with day use on weekends so traffic inside park to RV grounds is heavy. Wi-Fi looked good but we did not use much. We had excellent 4G Sprint, good Verizon and AT&T connections. We camped at Topeekeegee Yugnee Park / Whispering Pines in a Motorhome.

Williston Crossings RV Resort, Williston, Florida

Quoted rate includes Passport America 50% discount. May be this year's best bargain for us. Huge shaded sites, decent utilities, decent cable, landscaping between sites for privacy. A great place for us. Excellent Wi-Fi. Sprint/Verizon coverage good, AT&T fair. We intend to go back. We camped at Williston Crossings RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ho-Hum RV Park, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Ho-Hum is a small, quiet adult (no kids allowed) RV park right on the water. Waterfront sites a little tight. Off water sites are larger. Workers and long term residents are extremely friendly. Many of those staying here are fishing enthusiasts. Surprising wildlife activity at/near the park. We were here during a butterfly migration, and saw an alligator, a black bear, several eagles, and dolphins. Not much activity in surrounding area. A relaxing place to visit. We camped at Ho-Hum RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate was for one night at Passport America rate. Hard to find anything bad about this park. Clean, level sites with packed gravel and concrete patios. Nice pool/hot tub, great dog walk area, and friendly people. What's not to like? Sprint/Verizon work well here, convenient off I75. We camped at Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA, Cartersville, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

One night stay here. Convenient to Interstate. Pull through long enough so tow did not have to be disconnected. Sites are shaded and no rooftop dome satellite TV available. Cable provided but very basic cable - no weather channel, ESPN, TNT, etc. Sprint/Verizon cell/data worked well. We camped at Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA in a Motorhome.
