Hart Ranch Camping Resort, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $6.00
Overall Rating:

We visited Hart Ranch just before and during winter storm Atlas. In spite of being without power and snowed in for several days the staff and the restaurant made sure that everyone was taken care of and well fed during the emergency. If I ever have to be snowed in again I would hope it would be at Hart Ranch. They were wonderful to us. We camped at Hart Ranch Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Lewisville Lake Park Campground, Lewisville, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground with bicycle riding, fishing and water sports available on Lake Lewisville. The staff is friendly and helpful and the restrooms and laundry were spotless. As a resident of the park you have access to the picnic areas and fishing within walking distance. We have stayed here for a few days every year for several years and we have always enjoyed it. I would give it a 10 if it had sewer hookups. We camped at Lewisville Lake Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mission Bell RV Resort (55+ park), Mission, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park with the friendliest people in South Texas. The office staff were very helpful with our search for a park model for our stay in their park. They have a wonderful list of activities that we enjoy doing. Especially the get-together that the activity director coordinates. The people are very friendly and have made us feel like we belong. We camped at Mission Bell RV Resort (55+ park) in a Campground Cabin.

This is a great park with lots of activities and friendly people at the Rec Halls both at the Trade Winds Hall and at its sister park across Stewart Rd, Mission Bell. The Managers and Work Campers were wonderful. The restrooms and laundry rooms were always clean. We camped at Trade Winds RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tye RV Park, Tye, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Yikes! Thank goodness this was only an overnight stop. The bathrooms were cold. No heat in them. Shower curtains for the bathroom stall doors. You definitely want to wear shower shoes when you use the showers. Worst part? The F-15's from Dyess Air Force Base. I thought it was landing on us! They did quit taking off by 10 pm. Best part? Right off the highway next to the Flying J. We camped at Tye RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunny Acres RV Park (55+ park), Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The park was acceptable as far as cleanliness. They did seem to have a lack of things to do at the time we were there. No pool or store for quick purchases of basic needs. We were only there for 2 days so we can only speak about the facilities that we saw while there. It is a Passport America location, so we were only passing through. We camped at Sunny Acres RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Heartland RV Park & Cabins, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very clean park. We stayed for a month so I am not sure of the nightly rate. It was about $340 for the month of June & July. The laundry room was very clean and the bathrooms are unisex complete bathrooms for showering, and they also have regular bathrooms that clean and roomy. The Office has only a few things in the way of camping needs and even less in the way of food. But coffee is available for free and the help is very friendly. The hot tub was not available in by early July, but the pool was very refreshing. Small cabins are available for rent. Not bathroom facilities in the cabins, but they are close to the bath houses. Overall it is nice RV Park. We camped at Heartland RV Park & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Ozark Country Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is one of the cleanest parks that we have stayed in. The bathrooms, showers and laundry room were clean enough to eat off the floors! Every nook and cranny was spotless. The free wireless connection was excellent! We used Passport America so we paid half of the regular price. We camped at Ozark Country Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Admiralty RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The park was clean, as were the bathrooms. But the showers in the back and sides of this park were closed and we had to hoof it all the way to the front of the park for a shower. This wasn't a cheap park so I think it was very cheap of them to close the showers in the area of the park where they put the short-term people. The people in the office were polite but not friendly. We were here for 3 days. I would not go back. We camped at Admiralty RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mission Bell RV Resort (55+ park), Mission, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is an over 55 park. We are active early retirees so we were part of a growing younger set at the park. The dance hall is huge and well ventilated with fans and a/c. There were plenty of activites available, even for newbies like we are. Free dance lessons, dances held 1 to 3 nights a week. Nice clean pool and new 600 sq ft shaded area on the pool deck. Loads of clubs are available; bicycling, golf, motorcycles, woodworking, many card games, pool, bowling, pot lucks and a lot more. This was our first year retired and we stayed here 3 months without having a day of boredom! We plan to return again next year. We camped at Mission Bell RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Melody Lane (Was Texas Rose RV Park), Palmview, Texas

This is a gated park that issues a card key for entry after dark. Very quiet and peaceful. This park is separated into 2 parts, the front part is regular camping while the back 2/3 of the park is part of the Melody Lane Christian Renewal Center where Missionaries and their families stay while helping the Mission. We camped at Melody Lane (Was Texas Rose RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
