Downtown Riverside RV Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

While there's no grass in this park, it's a great place to stop to see "Bill's trailer on a post" and the other sights of Little Rock/North Little Rock .It has become a regular stop for us on our way to and from "The Great White North". We camped at Downtown Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Campground at Barnes Crossing, Tupelo, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A very pleasant campground. Wide, accessible site for our "big rig", helpful staff and close to stores and Natchez Trace info centre.Narrow entrance with a steep ditch off busy 145 can be a surprise and a challenge for a bigrig with a tow if travelling from the south.Turning north out of the campground on departure can also be problematic since you have to occupy both lanes to make the turn and keep out of the ditch and speeding south bound traffic doesn't want to stop for anything. Better to enter from north and leave to the south. We camped at Campground at Barnes Crossing in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts Yogi on the Lake, Pelahatchie, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Our pull-through site was so sloped and uneven that it was impossible to level. Initial water was rust-colored. Only positive was that we were able to get satellite reception and had electricity. Some roadway is paved . The gravel roads are very poorly maintained, lots of jolts as you travel them. No lighting to speak of. There's lots of work to be done in this park, and we won't stay there again until we're sure it's in much better shape than it is now. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts Yogi on the Lake in a Motorhome.

New Orleans West KOA, River Ridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Narrow roadway and trees can make backing in a "big rig" a little bit of an adventure but patience wins out. Staff are very helpful and the shuttle service to downtown New Orleans is a guided tour on its own. We agree with another reviewer's comments about following the campground's directions I-10 exit 223 and Williams Blvd ... there is an easy left turn off Jefferson Avenue into the campground. We will definitely stay here when we return to New Orleans. We camped at New Orleans West KOA in a Motorhome.

Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from/to I-10 and very hospitable managers made our week-long stay at this park very enjoyable. A Thanksgiving potluck dinner prepared and hosted by the managers simply added to our enjoyment. The park offers good-sized pull-through sites and all services worked well during our stay. Neighboring truck stop would have made refueling convenient had we needed to do so. The noise from the truck stop is the only negative for this campground and might bother lighter sleepers. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park), Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

An excellent campground. Entrance is very helpfully marked with flags and we found that helpful approach to be reflected in every conversation we had with the managers. All hook-ups worked perfectly during our one-week stay . We'll make it a point to stay at this park if we visit Shreveport again. If you visit make sure to see the Norton Gallery. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Downtown Riverside RV Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A great campground to use as a base to see Little Rock. Except when rain makes the sites' gravel base a mess. Sites are organized in staggered reverse order, can make for a pretty cozy relationship with your neighbor. It has a single purpose and fills it well. We camped at Downtown Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Campus RV Park, Independence, Missouri

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

A spacious campground . All back in sites and sewer location at very back of site can make sewer hook-up a "stretch". Cable TV is erratic and at times useless. Directions recommended by managers can result in troublesome turns and "low bridge" issues for longer and higher motor homes/fifth wheels . If we visit the campground again we'll take Noland Road off I-70 ,approach the campground off Walnut and Pleasant Streets and enter the campground off Pleasant. We camped at The Campus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crystal Lake RV Resort, Naples, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We have spent several very pleasant winters at Crystal Lake, with its great facilities and hospitable residents (both owners and renters like ourselves). The enjoyment we experienced was in no small measure due to the reliable, helpful, friendly attitude of the then rental managers who were replaced this past spring. The new regime displayed a level of incompetence in handling our reservation request for 2011/12 so we have made reservations elsewhere. A lot purchase would also not be in the cards. We camped at Crystal Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Would rate this campground higher if cable TV and Wi-Fi quality were acceptable: they aren't. Great location for visiting Charleston with dirt sites (making for lots of grit in the motorhome), well-located services, pet-friendly facilities and very helpful staff. Our site had reasonable space for our "big rig." We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

Asheville West KOA, Candler, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A rustic campground that, for the most part, is pitch black at night and needs some lighting. Also needs some warning posted that the campground entry is almost hidden on a corner. Sites can be tight for a big rig. Services are OK and the campground is convenient for visiting Asheville. Staff are accommodating and helpful. We camped at Asheville West KOA in a Motorhome.

Bowling Green KOA, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicer campgrounds we've stayed at. Wide, level site with easy access. A bluegrass jam session on Thursday night made our stay even more enjoyable. Only negative is the narrow entry road with deep ditches on either side. The campground is on a very busy single lane road and, to avoid "hitting the ditch" you have to take up both lanes of the busy road when leaving. There's lots of evidence that others have scraped bottom when leaving. Overall a very nice campground with very helpful staff and a good level of services. We camped at Bowling Green KOA in a Motorhome.

The Campus RV Park, Independence, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient access to historic sites at Independence. Coming from North, manager's directions take you through town along route 24 ( Truman Ave.). There's a low bridge ( 13' 10") on this route, and for big rigs, a right turn that requires you to take up the whole street you're turning onto. Overall a pleasant older park with lots of dog walk space, good level of services and a park we'll visit again. Much easier access from I-70. We camped at The Campus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Savannah Oaks RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A rustic campground with dirt sites but very convenient access to Savannah. Very helpful staff. Beware of low-hanging electrical lines: our CB antenna would have contacted them during departure. We left using the entrance road to avoid this hazard. Apparently other customers have brought this hazard to the staff's attention. We camped at Savannah Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park, College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Although sites are relatively small this is a good park with very good access to Washington. Staff are pleasant and helpful. The only negatives during our stay were the crappy weather and the local maniacs behind the wheel. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.
