We continue to come back to this little park for the view, and the sound of the waves. The park itself is clean, and the ranger and the camp host are very helpful and friendly. We were apprehensive at first because of the close proximity of town (right in the middle). However, after our first visit, we were hooked. You can walk to restaurants and stores, all located within five minutes of the park. We were here in April and along with the view of the ocean, eagles (both young and old) were soaring above the trees. The beach is very accessible - just a few steps and you are there. The first time we visited, we had reservations - this time we did not. There was no problem obtaining a space, but I am sure this will not be true during clamming season and the summer. This park is also great if you like to fly or watch kites. The neighbors on both sides of us were flying kites. We will visit this park again and again.

If you want a camp site with a view of the water and the sound of the ocean lulling you to sleep, this park can't be beat. The sites are all located on a bluff, and the first 20 feet or so of beach is covered with huge logs so access to the water can be a problem for some. The park is within easy walking distance of the lodge so that a restaurant and little store are available if so desired. Since no reservations are accepted in the winter months, we took our chances and had no problem finding a good location. There is an additional charge to dump your tank. Since we were on a one way loop, we were backed in placing the table and fire pit on the opposite side from my door, but all of the sites seem to be this way. I would have given this park a 10 rating except for my nearest neighbor who had at least three vehicles, either taking up additional spaces or blocking the road by parking all three in front of his and my sites.

We found this park by accident. We went to a "resort" but didn't like it, and passed this park, so decided to try it. Only one part of the campground was open, and reservations were not needed. The park was clean and quiet. They had just built cabins along the lake, so some of the pictures of the sites on the website were taken before the cabins were built. There is a trail along the lake to walk. We were treated to the sight of deer in the late afternoon along the water's edge. We will go back to this park again.
