Capulin RV Park & Camp, Capulin, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice owners, easy check-in, walked us to site. We asked for a shady P-T site and they gave us one with E & W. Sleep was great because it was quiet and cool. Owners also sell GOOD beef, many different cuts, frozen at reasonable prices. We will return! We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Nice older park but has new areas also. Check in was fast, site was concrete with shade. Rec room was big, clean, and complete with gym, TV, books, etc. Picnic table at site was un-usable because of mud from prior night's rain. NO grass at site. We camped at Lubbock RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fredericksburg, Texas KOA, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A very friendly and helpful lady employee checked us in and gave us a quiet and shady site in rear of park. Big shade trees. This is a big park and has different types of sites. Dog park was fenced, partial shade, and clean. This is one of the nicest KOAs we have seen. We will stay there again. We camped at Fredericksburg, Texas KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park with a great manager. Sites are concrete with built-in tables and BBQ stand. No fire pits!! Very nice pool. View of the lake. Only negatives are very little shade and power went out for 3-4 minutes several times while we were there. We camped at Lake Falling Star RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Hords Creek Lake, Lakeside Campground COE, Coleman, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Great CG for a peaceful stay. We stayed two nights and enjoyed the shade of the big live oaks. Very nice host/gatekeepers. Concrete sites with concrete picnic tables. We had FHU but W & E were available for only $8. Would love to go back as it was the nicest place we stayed in a two week Texas Hill Country trip. We camped at Hords Creek Lake, Lakeside Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain View RV Park & Campground, Sundance, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We had reserved for two nights, but left after checking in. There was NO shade, gravel/dirt sites, and heavy winds. We could not open windows because of wind, couldn't put out awning because of wind, and a/c could not cool us because it was 90 degrees and NO shade. When I went to office to "check out", owner offered no other site. She didn't seem to care that we were leaving, so I got my credit card reversed and left. Won't try that one again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Hi Valley RV Park, Boise, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

At check in, he couldn't find anything for our reservation, even with the confirm number they gave us. Finally got to our site and it was covered with small dog poop. Co-incidentally, the site next door had two small yapping dogs that roamed free. We know where the poop came form!! The site was long and narrow gravel. It had a two foot sidewalk as a "patio" and about two feet of grass past that, then the next site. It was the narrowest and most confining site we have ever been in. The pool, rec room, and laundry were fine but I would never go back there because of the tight sites. We camped at Hi Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This used to be our favorite but the last two trips it has gone to heck! We were here four nights and the bathrooms were NEVER cleaned. Floor was spotted and stained, TP all over, and trash can in bath never emptied. We used their showers once, and they were both (men & women) filthy. I mentioned these complaints to a ranger and was told to "be tolerant" as they are short handed. That seemed odd, as they had two host couples who never did anything that we saw but walk their dogs.

We won't be back to this state park, even though it is in a great location. We camped at Golden Gate Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Riverview RV Park & Campground, Loveland, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This used to be a decent park but not anymore! We needed a place to stay one night on the way home.

We were shocked at how bad it has gotten. Yes, I know they were flooded, but they have had time to clean it up. They have lots of very trashy units there! We had electric and water only and sites were not at all defined. No markers other than a post and you had no idea what was your site. Watched others coming in and they had no idea either.

We watched three rigs come in around us as late as 9:00 pm and they couldn't see their sites at all. Next morning it was almost comical to see how people parked in the dark.

Our site area had NO grass, just fine silt. Dog picked up lots of burrs while walking around park Lots of cigarette butts and other litter.

We couldn't wait to get out of there in the morning. Won't be back!!! We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Steamboat Lake State Park, Clark, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We were very disappointed in this park since most Colorado state parks are great. This one had dirty outhouses, weeds that were knee to waist high right up to your gravel patio. We were there 3 nights and only saw a ranger on the last morning. Usually, you will see one patrolling every 20-30 minutes. Great views of mountains and the lake, but most of the trees have been removed because of pine beetle. We won't go back. We camped at Steamboat Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mueller State Park, Divide, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We have always enjoyed this as our favorite State Park and go there 4-5 times a year. This time, the lady at the entry shack was just plain rude when my wife asked a simple question! We were also shocked at how Filthy the toilets were! The outhouse I used looked like it hadn't been cleaned all season. I went to the "visitor services" bldg. and they had two stalls. One was clogged up and overflowed and the other was filthy, with "stuff" all over the floor. The staff and management have really dropped the ball lately! We camped at Mueller State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Goodnight's Lonesome Dove, South Fork, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This Cg was a nice peaceful overnight for us. It was only about a third full, with mainly retired RVers from Arkansas and Texas. It was grassy, clean, and quiet. Owner was very friendly and we will be back. We camped at Goodnight's Lonesome Dove in a Travel Trailer.

Gunnison KOA, Gunnison, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the few KOAs that we like as they are very friendly and helpful, with nice facilities. Park is grassy, off hiway, spacious, and clean. Owners are extremely pet friendly. We had a large back-in with no one on either side so it made for a quiet stay. We will go back. We camped at Gunnison KOA in a Travel Trailer.
