Little Orleans Campground & Park Area, Little Orleans, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Second trip to this campground and will continue to come back. Our family loves this campground. Remote, woodsy, laid-back campground with nice staff! The campground is primarily used for permanent residents but staff makes week enders like us feel very welcomed. Nice clean pools and extra-large playground area. My children love the pond with the permanent feathered residents. I wish the sites were just a little bit larger with a bit more privacy between campgrounds but enjoy the tall trees and shade. We camped at Little Orleans Campground & Park Area in a Motorhome.

Elk Neck State Park, North East, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in North East Loop (full hook up/pets) site #3. Nice sized site with extra-long and level driveway. Site was very convenient to bathhouse if that’s an important consideration. Beautiful park and very nice staff. Our family was epically impressed with the Park Naturalist, Nature Center, and their programs. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Motorhome.

Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at site #212, which was a pull-through with full hook-ups. The site was level and in a nice location since it was a very short walk to both the camp store and shuttle stop. Also, we barely noticed the sound of the railroad since the site was a comfortable distance away from the track. The pull-through sites are very basic without a lot of room between campsites, but the campground’s location and shuttle service from and to Hershey Park far outweigh the limited size of the campsites. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we will definitely stay in this park for our next visit to Hershey. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

Point Lookout State Park, Scotland, Maryland

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

First time visiting and absolutely loved it. We stayed in the Tulip Loop site #79 with full hook ups. Site was beautiful with plenty of room for our 37-foot motor home. Sites around the loop area appear to be a little larger, but all sites are well-maintained, shady, and large. If traveling with children, recommend you pack their bicycles & bug spray. Mosquitoes were already out in April but weren’t a problem after squirting everyone down. Look forward towards visiting Point Lookout again. We camped at Point Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in a pull-through, full-hookup, 50 amp site (site G) the first weekend in April. Staff was very friendly and had nice activities for the children. Their breakfast on Sunday morning was great – nice food and price. Spring was starting to wake up Mother Nature, and it looks like the campground’s gardens must be beautiful when in full bloom. As noted in previous posts, sites are very close together. We will definitely come back again. We camped at Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA in a Motorhome.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is truly the top of all campgrounds. The campground is beautiful with gorgeous flowers and landscaping. The campground and sites are well maintained and the bathrooms & showers were immaculate. This was our family’s first trip to the campground in our RV. We are planning another Disney trip but next visit will dedicate more time just relaxing and enjoying the campground. Would rate this park well past a 10! We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Florence RV Park (formerly Florence KOA), Florence, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

I used this campground as my overnight stop while traveling from Maryland to Florida (and vice verse heading back home). Great stop to break-up the trip. The campground was very convenient and easy to find from the highway. The campground is also very close to a diesel gas station and truck wash. I probably wouldn’t choose this campground as my destination campground but highly recommend as a clean, convenient, overnight stop. Store was well stocked, and staff was friendly and helpful. We camped at Florence RV Park (formerly Florence KOA) in a Motorhome.
