Fort Worden State Park (Beach campground), Port Townsend, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this campground. Roomy, right on the water next to a slew of historical features (a decommissioned base with museums etc.) and things to do. Unfortunately I was only there for a day, had to jump on the ferry (3 mi. away) the next morning. Next time I will make a point to spend more time. Kids love it. We camped at Fort Worden State Park (Beach campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Ocean City State Park, Ocean Shores, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice state park right next to the beach, a favorite for local families. Roomy sites with plenty of trees and pull throughs. Make your reservations from home, it makes life easier. Going to the beach is about a quarter of a mile trail, very easy. The campground is located a short drive down the road from a casino. Stock up before you get there, there are not a lot of places for provisions once you're there. We camped at Ocean City State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Neskowin Creek RV Resort, Neskowin, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This place overbooks. It doesn't matter if you have a reservation for a site with hookups, there is a good chance that they will put you into dry camping overflow, a grassy field with grass and big holes. There were around 40 rigs dry camping when I was there, everyone I had talked to had come in with reservations for hookups. It appears that the priority for hookups goes to people who are there on a free three day sales pitch and "members" (meaning this is their home park, although there were some "members" in overflow). If you really need water and electricity just don't count on it. Every inch of grass there was marked off for dry camping. I hear the situation is better in the winter. We camped at Neskowin Creek RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Seattle / Tacoma KOA, Kent, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Wow. They are taking greed to a whole new level here. Overflow was everywhere (and they were paying 37 dollars for the privilege). "Packed in" would be an understatement. Overflow parked on every inch of grass, every curb, every possible place. For those who DID have a site there was very little water, I'm guessing it was because they were over their head. Plan on (slowly) filling up your tank and using your own pump for anything useful like dishes or a shower.

My neighbor had a lazy boy, a full sized refrigerator, wood furniture, etc., etc., in his small campsite. Enough said.

That said, if they would curb the overflow and monitor what is going on in their campground this place would rank better. I've stayed in the winter and it was fine, (but they don't reduce their prices much). We camped at Seattle / Tacoma KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Logan Road RV Park, Lincoln City, Oregon

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The price has increased here (crazy increase) and the facility has diminished. Sites are pretty much on top of each other. Cable is a "box" that you need to hook up after giving the host your credit card number. Wi Fi is pretty much non existent in many spaces. Free shuttle service to the casino. This place is an overpriced overnight stop. Next time I will stay for free in the casino parking lot. We camped at Logan Road RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice roomy park next to the Santiam River. Frequented by locals in the summer months, quiet in the winter (one loop closed). A nice place to stay anytime of year. We camped at Waterloo County Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Behind Safeway, pretty convenient to everything Salem, including I-5. Good location for taking the back way out east to Silverton.

Klamath Falls KOA, Klamath Falls, Oregon

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Great little overnight place, I seem to enjoy the convenience and the slip in/slip out nature of the place. Treed. Friendly. Cable works great. I use a 4g iPad on the road, worked fine. Extra bonus, on a day when America was standing in line for lottery tickets I bought mine at the KOA, no line. The young men who were working both times when I was there this month were very helpful and friendly. K Falls gets cold at night in the winter. I have learned to put my slide in at night if I'm leaving early in the morning to avoid any ice-on-the slide issues. It's never been crowded in the wintertime. I can see how huge rigs might not like the pulling in aspect of the place, I never have a problem with my 30 ft rig and Wrangler in tow. We camped at Klamath Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Grand Sierra Resort RV Park, Reno, Nevada

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I always return here. It's a nice place to park and visit the amenities of Reno. I used to always visit the spa in the hotel however due to the recent rehab of the facility their prices for use have tripled. You can do better in town. There's a river path next to the place that goes up and down the river. In the summer there are lots of homeless men hanging out, not so much in the winter. My dog enjoyed it. We camped at Grand Sierra Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

Main Street Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

If you simply want a convenient place in a good location for messing around in downtown Vegas, this is the place. Nothing fancy, however functional. No cable, but at least 20 antenna stations. It's all about the location here. Noise may be a factor depending on your rig. Mine is well insulated, I did not hear freeway noise. I did however hear emergency vehicle noise, goes with the territory if you're going to pitch camp in the middle of downtown Vegas. I'm grateful that this RV park is here. We camped at Main Street Casino in a Motorhome.

Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great location, everything works, felt secure, glad it's there. Call it "Old Reliable". Being that it was winter I did not use the hot tub or the pool, I have in the past, it's fine. It's not a five star resort, it's a convenient place to park your rig and settle in next to a casino (for a decent price) in Vegas. Cable was a bonus. I'd be really sad if this place were not there. We camped at Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town in a Motorhome.

Nice little campground. Clean, trees, great cable, cute play area, welcoming and accommodating management. A pleasant unexpected bonus was the 15 acre dog exercise area. There's a Camping World and a casino near by. What more do you need? We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Motorhome.

Valley of the Rogue State Park, Gold Hill, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice, peaceful and convenient state park next to I-5. There are plenty of trails, an especially nice one next to the river, good for dog walking. Pull-throughs are available. There are posted signs warning of ticks, all for a good reason; they seemed to be especially prevalent in the wooded areas by the river in the spring. We camped at Valley of the Rogue State Park in a Motorhome.
