James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The best county park we've ever been to. Sites are all 50 amp with sewer, free wifi, miles of great walking, biking trails (paved), crabbing and fishing dock, near the beach and five minutes from downtown Charleston. A fin water park inside the park during summer, all kids love it. We use the park for medical visits, but enjoy all aspects of it. We highly recommend this park to any and all families. We camped at James Island County Park in a Motorhome.

Twin Rivers is just awesome for families, for relaxing and enjoying nature. The river is great for canoeing, kayaking, tubing, wading and fishing. Perfect for kids. Full on weekends, quiet and peaceful on weekdays. The managers are fantastic folks and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We camped at Twin Rivers Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye), Luray, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a little paradise. It's only 80 miles to Washington, DC and you think you are a million miles from any turmoil of a city. All sites are beautifully situated so that each one has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Green lush farm pastures also surround, and we enjoyed watching sheep and their spring lambs. The campground is only a few miles from the beautiful Shenandoah River, a great river to fish, canoe, or tube in summer. The owners are wonderful and helpful. We recommend this campground highly. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.
