Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort, Lajitas, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is large, clean, well-maintained and very comfortable. There is much to do with both a state parks and Big Bend National Park, the RV park is conveniently located between the two. It's part of the Lajitas Golf Resort, and you can use the amenities of the resort. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Petit Jean State Park, Morrilton, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Even though we are from out of state they gave us a senior discount. This is the best State Park we've stayed in. Large cement pull through sites with full hook up. Great trails and many activities. They have a lodge with a nice restaurant on site. The sunrises and sunsets at this park are outstanding. We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Dardanelle State Park, Russellville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Even though we are from out of state they gave us a senior discount. The park was full and we were able to get a site in the older portion of the park, it was great but the newer section have full hook-up sites. Great for a State Park. We camped at Lake Dardanelle State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located in North Little Rock, AR not Napoleonville, Louisiana.

If you have a larger RV it can be a challenge to maneuver to your site. They have a retaining wall that you need to get around to get to many of the sites. We saw a nice motorhome scrape alone it's side for several feet, someone told us that it was third one this week. If you careful you can make it.

Like many KOA's it overpriced.

On the position side they have a friendly staff. We camped at Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older park that sits both on the harbor and Lake Superior in Grand Marais, MN The scenery is outstanding and it's an easy walk into town. The North Shore on Lake Superior is a fun place to explore. We camped at Grand Marais RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wildwood RV Park and Campground, Taylors Falls, Minnesota

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed last summer while our house was being worked on for a month. For our purpose it worked out, but if we were doing a normal RV trip would only stay a day or two. The surrounding area has a lot to offer and see. On highway 8 from Lindstrom to Taylor Falls is great. The campground is a field with no shade and the sites are close. The older part of the park needs some work. We camped at Wildwood RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Parker's Landing RV Park, Biloxi, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park, we stayed overnight and had good power, water was 52psi, cable was a bit snowy, antenna was better and Wi-Fi was with Tengo slow and did cut in and out and a bit tricky to sign into. Sites are level concrete with a patio. Lot's of trees, this could be a great park, but it needs some work, great for overnight as it's right off I-10 with little road noise. We camped at Parker's Landing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tallahassee East Campground , Monticello, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older and needs some work, type of park, but handy to I-10 for an overnight. Sites are large and you get a pull through for one night. Sites are sand, level with older services. Water was 40psi, power was 50amp and good. We were told the Wi-Fi was spotty but at our site it was good. The one great thing is they serve breakfast, not many places left that do that. We would use this campground for overnight again. We camped at Tallahassee East Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Three Lakes RV Resort, Hudson, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Clean but older park, well maintained, nicely landscaped. The sites are roomy with concrete pads and patios, but no tables and the interior roads are narrow. We didn't have a problem parking our fiver, but if space by us had been in use it could had been a problem. The services are placed at the rear so you will need your long cord. Free Wifi service poor, water was 42 PSI Nicely heated pool but it was small and shallow (4.5 ft at deepest). Friendly people and staff. We only stayed over night, no cable and no discounts. We camped at Three Lakes RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Okeechobee KOA, Okeechobee, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

PROS-This is a good size campground, 750 sites. They have lots of activities for all ages. They have two swimming pools, sundeck, hot tub and bar. One pool is for families the other for adults. If you're into golf they have a 9 hole golf course, driving range, putting green and mini golf, plus lot's of other things to keep you active and busy. Inexpensive food and drinks available in the park, great staff, friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. You're about a mile from Lake Okeechobee with some great fishing. They guided us to our site, and with lots of help from the staff we were able to get our 5th wheel into the site. They pick up the garbage at your site daily.

CONS- For an older park it is well taken care of, but not the sites themselves, they need some work, as does the campground roads and are a bit confusing until you get use to them. Because it's older it's a bit tight to back into with a large 5th wheel, narrow roads truck and cars lining the streets. Water pressure was 42psi and the electric post had one 50 amp and one 30 amp located at the back of the site rusted and in need of some work, we could only get the 30 amp, the 50 amp was already taken by a permanent resident. We needed to get out extra cable, sewer and water hose to reach it. Wi-Fi is limited and you can pay extra for additional service, and the service was slow and sometimes not available. The cement patio was in need of repair; it's getting old. Like many KOA's we've stayed at we find them to be overpriced, older and in need of updating, especially at the campsites.

WOULD WE STAY HERE AGAIN? No Our rate was based on staying for a month.

We stayed here in a 36 foot fifth wheel. We camped at Okeechobee KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

East Haven RV Park, Winter Haven, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This an older park that is well maintained. Site were a bit close, we were unable to put our awning out, but we were in the overnight sites and the other sites look larger. Be careful some of the turns are tight put if you watch what you're doing not a problem. Power was good, water was 42psi, Wi-Fi was good. No cable but we got 88 air channels. The real positive thing is the owner goes out of his way to give you a warm friendly welcome. I marked this campground up one just because of him. We camped at East Haven RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ocala Sun RV Resort, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here just overnight. Friendly staff and helped us to our site. Water was 45psi, power was good as was Wi-Fi and cable. Sites are grass and pedestals are located at the back of each site, if your hooks ups are mid RV you will need to use extra cords and cables to reach. No picnic tables.
We would stay here again. We camped at Ocala Sun RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Coastline RV Resort, Eastpoint, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

PROS-Nice to find a nice new facility for a change. Our site was right on the road and the view out to St. George Island was outstanding. Good power, water was 50psi, Wi-Fi excellent and lots of cable TV channels. Sites are large with a hand laid brick paver patio at each site. Nice fishing pier across the road, outdoor pool.

CONS-Our site was close to US 98 and normally the road noise would be a problem but the view more than made up for it. They have small laundry facilities with only two washers and dryers.

WOULD WE STAY HERE AGAIN? We stayed for a week and would have stayed longer but they were full.
