Trader's Village RV Park, Grand Prairie, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Just as the other reviews have said, solid camp ground. Very little room between the spots is the biggest drawback. Closest place I could find to Texas Stadium. I will stay here again. We camped at Trader's Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Blanco State Park, Blanco, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful area with the most helpful friendly staff i have ever encountered. The sites (dusty and small) are not as good as some other Texas State Parks but definitely worth a stay. We camped at Blanco State Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Claiborne State Park, Homer, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park, sites are small for big motorhomes, no sewer or the grade would be higher. I definitely would stay here again. Lots of sites with water view. We camped at Lake Claiborne State Park in a Motorhome.

Hot Springs National Park KOA, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

An above average KOA with terraced sites which gives you some privacy. A little closer to town than Cloud nine, might look into it next time though. We camped at Hot Springs National Park KOA in a Motorhome.

Simple lakeside park. Pretty good size pull thru spaces. Great restaurant at the marina. Easy access to water if you are boater, but none if you are swimmer etc. Very clean, we would stay again as a stop over. We camped at Lake Athens Marina and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Palestine RV Park, Palestine, Texas

Nice stop over location. Clean, rural setting. Nicest owner we have ever dealt with. He met us in town and escorted us to the park. It was late and raining. Several seasonal or permanent residents. We camped at Palestine RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Palestine Resort, Frankston, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Small sites that weren't mowed, we had to get two for our 38 foot motorhome and tow vehicle. However, we had semi nice water view with a pull up boat slot. Good store, restaurant, and boat ramp. Adequate but would try somewhere else next time. We camped at Lake Palestine Resort in a Motorhome.

South Padre Island KOA, South Padre Island, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I almost agree 100% with the prior post. We stayed in the expensive premium spots too, right by the dog waste area. Good but not great. The rocked pads and walk ways kill this place. Nice pool and nice commons area. Great restaurant and bar at the fishing pier, but the rocks have to go. If you don't live in the valley, it's a long way to drive to walk around on a lot of rocks. I might try the park at the end of the island next time (closer to the beach), I think it is a municipal park. We camped at South Padre Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Clean park for the metro Houston area. Not much area between spots, but what do you expect. I know of no other park that is easier to get to for the Houston area. We camped at Traders Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Brushy Creek COE, Jefferson, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Solid Corp of Engineers Park. Hard to get a premium site, but you could still see the lake with our rear site. Well maintained and great lake, however, restrooms and shower were unclean but it was Memorial Day weekend and the park was packed. I will go back. We camped at Brushy Creek COE in a Motorhome.
