Texas RV Park of Big Spring, Big Spring, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

They have 5 sites for travelers - rest for long term residents. Said they no longer give Good Sam discount and won't be in the next book as it generated to many people coming in! Lots of road noise, but did taper down after midnight. Won't know if we would stop again - it is out of the way. Lots of parks around the area but all for long term residents, not for travelers. We camped at Texas RV Park of Big Spring in a Motorhome.

Holt's Shell RV Park, Gila Bend, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Passport America and Escapees discounts. This park is a good example of what is needed for an overnight stop. Easy in and out, power/water/sewer. Subway next to the fuel station was great for sandwiches after our drive - no need to heat up the coach on a hot afternoon. Next morning out and on our way. A little noise from the road/trucks at the fuel station but not bad. Definitely would stop again. We camped at Holt's Shell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pavilion RV Park, West Monroe, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Easy on and off for a one night stop. Weekend rate is to high or I would have rated an 8. Noise really wasn't a problem - this is a park near a major interstate, of course there is going to be some traffic noise. As far as the animals next door, never heard them. We camped at Pavilion RV Park in a Motorhome.

Susquehanna Trail Campground, Oneonta, New York

Used PPA - ok for an overnight stop. GPS will take you the wrong way. Small park, but sewer available. Close to Interstate, but no noise. We camped at Susquehanna Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Pope Haven Campground, Randolph, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Gravel road with lots of dust, very hilly getting there, weird layout for the park. Stayed using PPA - really too far away from highway to be a good overnight stop. Will not stay here again. We camped at Pope Haven Campground in a Motorhome.

Hollywood Casino Hotel & RV Resort, Joliet, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice layout, good sized sites. Would have rated higher expect for having been told that we wouldn't fit in a back in site, when we would have and the outrageous price of $45/night! We camped at Hollywood Casino Hotel & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Eaton County Fairgrounds, Charlotte, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Water is scattered throughout, so long hoses are needed. For a few days, good place to stop. We camped at Eaton County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground), Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Rate for electric/water only with Escapees discount. Good place to stay for overnight. Tight sites but ok. Interstate 80 noise is a constant hum - offset by the air/conditioner running and fans because of the heat. We camped at Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground) in a Motorhome.

Area's Finest Country View Campground, Ogallala, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Good overnight stop - 1/2 mile from I-80, so noise isn't a constant pounding all night! Easy to get to, 50 amp power which is a plus in this heat. Would stay again. We camped at Area's Finest Country View Campground in a Motorhome.

Pioneer RV Park, Hermiston, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Tight getting into and out of sites - lots of cars parked in the street area and the turns are TIGHT! Appears most are long stays, with some overnights. Overpriced, but then everything seems to be, as there are no amenities. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pheasant Ridge RV Resort, Wilsonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty park, nice staff, but the size of the sites and the horrible way you are put into them; we will have to back out because we can't go forward in a pull through site! Plus they have sumble strips every few feet and don't know how to angle them enough so that big rigs don't get jolted. Then there is the dip coming into the park that gives the rig a big jolt. Also they have enough rules to choke a horse, maybe because of so many who are stationery renters. It could be so nice if they knew anything about how to run a park. We camped at Pheasant Ridge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Great find for a quick stop over to visit friends in the area. A little tight getting in and out for a motorhome, but doable. Nice managers. Will stay again if in the area. We camped at Imperial Manor MHC (55+park) in a Motorhome.

Valencia Travel Village, Castaic, California

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Used PPA for 3 nights. Close to everything we needed. The short term sites are pull-through, but you need to unhook because all utilities are in the back of the site, plus the roads are narrow and not much turning room available into the site. Will stay again when we are in the area. We camped at Valencia Travel Village in a Motorhome.

Thousand Trails - Palm Springs RV Resort, Palm Desert, California

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Really tight getting into and out of the back-in sites. And if you want 50 amp it has to be the back-in sites. They could take out some of the palm trees and make things easier. Windy the whole time and lots of sand blowing through. Not our favorite TT park. We camped at Thousand Trails - Palm Springs RV Resort in a Motorhome.
