Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground located minutes from downtown Charleston. However, we have camped for YEARS and never been taken over by ants as we did within hours of arriving at this campground. We literally fought with ants all week! Loved the amount of roads in this campground for bike riding. We enjoyed the pool, but hated that it was such a far walk from the back section of the campground to the pool by the highway (which made for pretty loud noises while trying to relax at the pool). We are glad we stayed here for our time in Charleston, but will probably never return. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Orlando / Kissimmee KOA, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

BEST KOA we have ever stayed at! We were just passing through to visit friends in the area and didn't want to pay the excessive fees for Ft Wilderness for just a weekend. Site 108 was perfect for our 43' 5th Wheel and we even had a lot of grassy area. We were close to the VERY nice and clean pool, the office, and the playgrounds. Lots of roads to walk our dogs. Even has a Waffle House located within walking distance. Found this KOA to be very centrally located to everything in Orlando that we wanted to go to including Disney. We camped at Orlando / Kissimmee KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Gate Campground & RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent campground that is close to downtown Savannah, but away from the noise of the city. Awesome trails for walking, clean pool, and great fishing ponds for the kiddos! Huge sites for big rigs, super clean, and friendly staff. We will return here soon! Only negative was no cable, wifi, or shade in the middle sites. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Grassy Key RV Park & Resort, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

Best price in the keys with best sites perfect for big rigs like us in a 43' 5th wheel. Loved the cooled pool, foliage between sites, dock, pier with tiki hut, and reliable wifi! Excellent location close to shops and restaurants. Easily accessible to Key West without all the traffic to deal with everyday! Only con was we had a waterfront site but they are setup for motorhomes so we had water and electric lines running under our 5th wheel that we had to step over constantly, but super nice owner did provide an extension for our electric. Glad they did have an extra sewer hookup on the correct side for us though! We will be back! We camped at Grassy Key RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Miami Everglades Resort, Miami, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

I will never stay here again! We got reservations several months ago and made sure they were aware that we had a 43' fifth wheel. We arrived late to find our so called "super site" that we paid extra for was a "pull-in" and not a true "pull-through." What they did not mention at all was the SUPER low power lines that we had to drive under to get into our site. The campground was never full during our stay, so no reason they should have put us at this site. When we brought up the power lines to the employees they said they knew and had called the power company which obviously never fixed the issue. Our air conditioners literally drug the power lines as we pulled in. Once we finally got into the GRASS site, we tried to put our slides out and realized they wouldn't go because of how close the hookup pole is to the back of our fifth wheel. After many tries we ended up blowing a fuse in our hydraulic slides. Finally got pulled up way farther than we should have been just to be able to open our slides. Employees were nice but not very helpful in helping to tell us the best way to get out of the campground (super tight roads and no directional signs on any of the roads) or where to find 4th of July fireworks. However, the other campers at this campground are the rudest we have ever encountered in our over 8 years of camping around the country. We will not be back and would never recommend this place for a big rig or friendly folks. We camped at Miami Everglades Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Coastline RV Resort, Eastpoint, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent campground with amazing views of the bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our month stay here in site 5 with the water views. Plenty of grass areas to walk the dogs, easy in and out of sites even with our 43' rig, gorgeous pool, 5 star bathrooms, and awesome customer service from the owners and employees. Only ding is that the Wi-Fi seems to be excellent throughout the park (we spoke with other campers) except on site 5. It would come and go constantly. We will be back to enjoy this wonderful area. We camped at Coastline RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Go Fish RV Park, Sandersville, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for overnight stay on trip from Tennessee to NOLA. Don't judge a book by its cover with this one, nothing fancy but gets the job done and fit our 43' RV nicely. Bathrooms and laundry facilities are being built. Great grassy areas for dogs. Owner is the nicest and most helpful we have ever encountered. Helped us set up and gave our daughter some Go Fish playing cards. We camped at Go Fish RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA, Cartersville, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this campground! Although it was 45 minutes from Atlanta, it was the closest with great reviews and I know why. The staff was very friendly! I needed some extra sewer hose while I was here and they had some in their store. The sites were pretty level and the landscaping was very neat. We will be back, very soon! We camped at Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA in a Motorhome.

Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA), Ringgold, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

I just love this campground! We have stayed here before and it's just great! The staff is very nice and helpful. We got here at 10PM at night and they brought our map out to our motorhome. I didn't even have to get out. They are just simply amazing! The only reason I gave a 9 and not a 10 is due to the internet. They have 2 wireless connections and where our lot was at, we couldn't get a good signal off of either one of them. Other than that, it was great. We will be staying here again, very soon! We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Motorhome.

I don't know what the other bad reviews on this campground are about, because we loved it here! So what if there is interstate noise, that means you're close to everything! Plus, why should the campground be knocked for interstate noise? They can't change that! The staff was very friendly, took me to my site, which I loved. Everything was clean, store was very nice, overall a wonderful experience! I will stay here again, very soon!!! South Sauty Creek Resort, Langston, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We got reservations to stay here 3 nights and left after 1! This is the worse campground that I have not only seen, but stayed at! Our campsite is on a hill so bad that my motorhome won't get level and to even get close, my back tires are over 12" off the ground!!! We were told all sites are water front, but we are a ways away from the water. We brought dogs and the grass is taller than they are! We are moving 2 hours away to Chattanooga, just to not have to stay here anymore!!! Terrible!!! We camped at South Sauty Creek Resort in a Motorhome.

Lookout Mtn. / Chattanooga West KOA, Trenton, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

I have to say that our camping experience here was a little different than other places. First, this camp ground is a good 20 minutes from anything. Other than the drive in movie, get ready to drive if you want to leave the campground. Also, there wasn't a really good place for our dogs. They do allow dogs, just not really a dog walking area. On a positive note, the staff was very, very nice! The pool area was very nice also. Overall it was a good trip, just next time I'm going to stay somewhere closer into town. We camped at Lookout Mtn. / Chattanooga West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Nashville East / Lebanon KOA (formerly Countryside Resort), Lebanon, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was wonderful! The staff was the best. We had a issue with the electric when we first got there, called the office, and within 5 minutes, they replaced the breaker and we didn't have any more problems! Campground was beautiful! Plenty of room for the dogs to run around. Shady trees, green grass, level sites, everything that you would ever want from a campground. I would recommend everybody to stay at this campground! We camped at Nashville East / Lebanon KOA (formerly Countryside Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Clarksville RV Park & Campground, Clarksville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was wonderful. It was one of the cleanest campgrounds that I've ever been to. Very quiet, other than the interstate noise, but they can't help that! Bath house was spotless! Very, very clean! The only negative and the reason I give this campground an 8, is because our site and many of the others had a tree planted where you can not get your awning open. It is impossible. Other than that, this was a great experience! Very nice staff and will stay here again! We camped at Clarksville RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Gulf Shores / Pensacola West KOA, Lillian, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

I have both mixed feelings about this campground. First there is a wonderful small beach on the bay with a pier that is just great. Without being on the actual ocean, this was the next best thing. The sites were shady and pretty. Now, the problems. There was a huge tree that almost prevented me from getting into my pull through site, due to the fact that the sites are right up on top of each other. The way the sites are laid out, your patio area was right beside the patio area of the next camper, there was no separation, which is bad when the camper next door parties all night. They need to put one lot per every two. The staff was nice! The campground is not close to Gulf Shores or Orange Beach at all! It's a good 30 minutes drive! We camped at Gulf Shores / Pensacola West KOA in a Travel Trailer.
