Lincoln Road RV Park, Helena, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed July 24-26, 2016. We may have stayed longer but no site was available. In hindsight, 3 nights was long enough. The wifi was hit and miss. We decided on this park after trying Helena RV Park and noticed how deteriorated it had become. The sites were a bit small. Most everything was ok except I noticed with the laundromat washers. The rinse cycle is really just water coming out during a spin! We couldn't use fabric softener. I noticed this on 2 different machines. At $2 a load I can go to a laundromat in town and get a real rinse! I complained to the man on duty about no hot water also when no one else was using the laundromat. He says "I don't know what you want me to do. I use cold water for all my clothes." I guess he had second thoughts about that comment because then he says, "I guess that's beside the point."The woman who also works the counter was nice and seemed to care about how things were going. We camped at Lincoln Road RV Park in a Motorhome.

Helena Campground and RV Park, Helena, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We decided NOT to stay here. With the previous manager it seems the park was neater and a little more organized. We stayed here last year for a month in June. This year it seemed messy and neglected. I realize this is not a complete review but since the condition was so noticeable AND increased in price it should be noted.

We chose another park that is further and only $5 more per night. We camped at Helena Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Millpoint RV Park, Peoria, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with the other reviews that the owners are friendly and the campground is quiet. The roads are dirt and can be muddy after a rain. The Wi-Fi is so weak it is useless. The water is extremely bad. DO NOT put it in your fresh water holding tank or it will turn orange. You must have a water filter to get some of the orange out of the water. It also does not taste very good even after using a few filters. We only drank it in our coffee maker. The workers are not very conscientious when cutting the grass and destroyed our sewer and water hoses. The owner was made aware and did not to replace them. I am thankful they did not kick up rocks when cutting the grass and break a windshield. The sites are gravel and grass so flying rocks are a hazard. We camped at Millpoint RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rio Chama RV Park, Chama, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We paid $32 a night for 4 nights so we could ride the train plus see surrounding areas. We found the sites to be close together. There are many trees to drive around and could cause a problem getting satellite. They are so close we had to close our windows at night so the neighboring campers campfire smoke didn't come in. Our site was at the back along the river which was nice so we could hear it running at night. The woman at the office told us to park our car in the site next to us. We did. The next day a VERY irate male employee came up to us YELLING RUDELY to move our car! After we moved it he did apologize and said he was yelling "over the noise of the train". That wasn't true because the train hadn't gotten there yet. The sites are too close but are level. The river is nice. The quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM.I have no input on showers or bathrooms. There is no laundry. It is cool to watch the train go by on the bridge just over the fence from where we parked. It only goes by twice a day at 10 AM and 4 PM. We camped at Rio Chama RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cutty's Des Moines Camping Club, Inc, Grimes, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Rate was coast to coast rate. The sign at the gate says it is a 5-star resort, but that must be only in their dreams. When checking in, I asked for a site away from others and away from dogs. I even commented the person in front of us had a dog. When we got to our site, I realize the guy at check-in did not care and put us right beside the people in front of us in line. The sites are extremely close together and they look like the park does not even try to make them level. We called the office and told them we were moving to another site a few rows over. The map we received of the park was outdated and the laundry room was closed near where we were parked. The only laundry room was in an odd location forcing you to go through the shower and pool locker room to get to it. It also only had 3 washers and dryers for over 500 sites, but only cost one dollar per wash. At least the room had air conditioning and was clean. There was a lot of old dried up dog crap outside the building to give you an idea of how they maintain the grounds. The map we received had a hand written note no parking on grass, but with such small sites most people ignored that. The roads in the park are all gravel and rutted with some sites having deep ruts to go through just to get into your site. The traffic noise from the interstate is endless, but we kept our A/C on to drown out the noise. Some good things about the park is there are a lot of facilities such as indoor pool, exercise room and a lake with lots of ducks. We will probably look for a quieter park when we come through here again. We camped at Cutty's Des Moines Camping Club, Inc in a Motorhome.

Northland Camping & RV Park, Superior, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly owner/manager. Good gravel/dirt interior roads and sites all seem fairly level. I saw other reviews and they stated they paid a lesser amount than what I was charged. When checking in, I was told $31 per night and no discounts. The laundry room was dirty and the washer very old, but it worked OK. My wife found a pile of dog crap right outside the laundry room door left from an inconsiderate campers's dog. We don't have a dog so she did not pick it up. There is plenty of fire wood for campfire and Sat TV was easy to get a signal. We camped at Northland Camping & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ojibwa Casino RV Park, Marquette, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is the first time we ever had a place pay us to stay. After you park, you check in with guest services and each adult will receive $5 cash and a free drink coupon. Of course they want you to spend it in the casino but that is your choice. There are 7 sites with electric only. They are all long back-in sites along the side of the parking lot. Each site is clearly marked and level. There is also a nice picnic table and a trash barrel at each site. With no water and sewer, plan ahead and arrive with enough fresh water as you cannot fill up here. Great site for overnight and much cheaper than $40 down the road. We camped at Ojibwa Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tiki RV Park & Campground, Saint Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Our rate reflects Passport America. We had full hook up 30 amp back-in. They charge more for 50 amp and more for pull through. The staff were nice and friendly and even gave us a package from the local chamber of commerce with coupons. We had a fire ring and collected lots of wood from the surrounding forest for our fires. The park was mostly quiet at night with the occasional car noise on the neighboring street. The airport behind the park only seemed to have small planes flying which were not a bother. We camped at Tiki RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Northern Nights Family Campground (formerly Higgins Lake Family Campgr, Roscommon, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet campground with lots of trees. One row for big rigs has no trees, but you park on concrete pads with sewer and of course it costs more. The other sites are totally surrounded by trees and caution is required to get in and out. These other sites are not level and it can be a challenge to level your rig. The owners are friendly and will guide you to your site. We paid $29 for 30 amp and water at an un-level site. I also needed an extension cord to get to the electrical box which was a long distance away on the curb side. There are no discounts given. I feel the park is overpriced We camped at Northern Nights Family Campground (formerly Higgins Lake Family Campgr in a Fifth Wheel.

Top-A-Rise Campground, Falconer, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Price is Passport America rate and worth the drive. It is about 6 miles from the interstate. The owner/manager is very friendly and accommodating. He showed us another site when my wife preferred something different. The park is extremely quiet at night. Our site was level grass with 30 amp electric and water with an easy dump station on the way out. The gravel interior roads were in good shape. The bathrooms and shower house looked like a step above an outhouse, but no problem for us as we use our own. The was also no laundry. My higher rating reflects the feel of the park and the friendliness of the people. We camped at Top-A-Rise Campground in a Motorhome.

Crazy Acres CG at Beaver Spring Lake (formerly Beaver Spring Lake CG), Davenport, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Not a good park for overnight as it is about 10 miles from the interstate. But if you want quiet and can put up with all the odd rules it is OK. The woman's attitude seemed to change when I said Passport America. The park even has a sign pointing PA quests to a separate field. There are strange rules such as all trash must be in a clear plastic bag. There must be two adults in the pool when swimming AND two adults with a child under 16. That means you cannot take a dip by yourself. I doubt we will be back to this park. The only reason we were there was the PA discount. Our rate was for 30 amp electric and water. We camped at Crazy Acres CG at Beaver Spring Lake (formerly Beaver Spring Lake CG) in a Motorhome.

Wilderness Lake Campground & Resort, Willington, Connecticut

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is not an RV park. It is a campground! Lots of family friendly activities. The campground would be OK if you have a small camper or trailer, but do not come here with a big rig. The roads in the park are all gravel and hills. There is water and electric only at the sites. They are not really designated as sites, just park on the grass or gravel and hook-up. Our motorhome is 38' and I bet if you have anything longer than 34', the dump station will be hard to get to without backing out. So you can forget about a pull through site! When asked, he said to use the dump station at I-84 westbound. Sorry but we are going East. We will not be back here again. It was way over priced at $25 for PA discount. Normal rate is $50 a night. We camped at Wilderness Lake Campground & Resort in a Motorhome.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Amount reflects PA and Good Sam. It is an all gravel park with hookups close together, and the sites are not clearly defined. The park is on a slight hill beside the interstate so the freeway noise is constant. Interesting decor with old RVs set up on display near the office. Clean laundry room at a good price. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Motorhome.

Payson Campground & RV Resort, Payson, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Office staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We arrived on a Sat. to stay a week, and they only had one site left. They allowed us to stay one night there and move to a better site the next day. This is a great park for kids. The park is dog friendly, but they also do not tolerate barking. A rig parked beside us with small barking dogs that barked for hours, and they were given a warning when we complained. The noisy dogs left the next day. Sites are close but separated by bushes to give some privacy. Most sites are not level, and the park is hilly. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.
