About rwarner22

Full timers since May 2009. We live in our 40' 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus. We have stayed in a lot of military campgrounds and a good number of commercial ones. Our budget calls for $25 / night and we have averaged $21.63.

We liked this campground because of its location. The Atlantic Coastal waterway and drawbridge is 100 yards in one direction and the Onslow Beach is the same distance in the other. Great location! The registration office staff are friendly and helpful and we had the pick of 1/2 dozen sites. They could be a little longer, but it was no real issue in our 40' motorhome. Another real plus is the NEX mini mart that is next door to the office. Don't think we have seen that anywhere but it is really nice to have that nearby. The wifi is poor so we were unable to connect. If you want a good signal, you have to go near the office to log on. The views and beach are great, the picnic shelters are a plus and this is a place that we will return to. For a military campground, it is a little expensive at $32. That price may affect our return.

Had no trouble finding an overflow space where we camped for two nights. Park was almost full. Adequately maintained. Dump station and gravel site in overflow was fine. Parking tow was not a problem. There were shade trees, but I was still able to use my Winegard Trv'ler DirecTV satellite. Great location and will stay there again.

Campground was fine. Looks like it had been taken over and upgrades were in progress. We appreciate seeing campgrounds that are in good shape and are well maintained. Sites were level despite being on the side of a hill. It was not a problem other that being a little tight at the site.

Nice park at the end of the long term park model and RV area. Some new sites with most having concrete pads. This Christian campground is open to all and follows a conservative list of activities. We enjoyed the fact we were able to take advantage of 'first time visitors stay free' policy. That was very nice. Call in reservations were good. The pool is a good distance away from the campground. Laundry facilities were adequate though dated. Campers were very friendly and we enjoyed a free Friday night concert. Facilities were good but we would not pay the rate of $60 per night. We camped in a 40' motorhome.

I liked this old motel/RV park. It seems to have a lot of history. The staff was friendly and gave us a good site. Our Internet and satellite TV worked fine. We only stayed one night on our way to California but it was a good choice and we would not hesitate to stay there again. We had been to the Grand Canyon the previous year and this year were just stopping on our way through to California. We would stay here in our 40-footer again.

Very good stay during off season. It was hot but the swimming pool was great. Walking distance to the free golf. Only had to pay for the cart. Great golf course. Very nice campground on a small resort property. Nice pond and clubhouse with very pleasant surroundings. We loved it here and would stay again. We opted for the less expensive sites which were a bit tight and parking for the tow was on the street.

Very nice and large campground. Facilities were in great shape - new and well maintained. Loved the large pull-through and level sites. Full hookups and nearby shopping at the pecan / orange grove outlet store one street over. It was a great place to stay. We would camp here again in our 40' RV.

Really liked this campground. It is convenient and not far off I-10. We stayed 4 days and it was great. Our campsite was level and we had no issues with our Internet (Verizon Jetpack) and DirecTV. It was a nice, quiet, well maintained campground with full hookups and 50 amp service. A little pricey but a nice stop in the middle of the summer. We will return in our 40' RV.

We like this place. It's very convenient for us and we return year after year. We stay in the 'newer' area with the large sites. Typical for many bases it seems, more and more people are homesteading and turning the campground into an extension of base housing. Nevertheless, the sites are unusually long and wide and very nice. Full hookups are available and we were able to wash our RV. The staff is good. One camp host was exceptional. I left over $10 in quarters in the laundry room. I reported the loss. She called me a week later and went out of her way when the Tupperware jar of quarters was returned. She called me and found a way to get the money back to me. Never heard of the 'way and above' service! Kudos to her for sure! We will be returning to the FamCamp on our next visit to Albuquerque. Our RV is 40' long.

I liked this KOA. It was in great shape and very well maintained. The owners were friendly and had done a lot of improvements. They were systematically working throughout the campground to improve it, upgrade it and make it a very desireable place to stop. We really liked it and would return.

We liked this campground and would stay again. It's in a convenient location and is well maintained. We stayed in the older section but it was recently updated. The sites are adequate with concrete pads and grass. The staff was very congenial and friendly which we always appreciate. It was a good overnight stop and we would consider staying there again. Our rig is 40' long.

This is a self service park in downtown Red Bay. It was fine and our first time there. The $20 is the going rate for everything around there. Some sites (#4) have access to satellite TV was good. Sites are level on what look like the concrete floor of old buildings that were scraped. Very convenient to downtown area, the Tiffin Plant, and the shops in Red Bay. We would stay there again.

Loved this campground. Might have been able to get satellite TV access if we had stayed on the river side of the campground and settled for 30 amp. Beautiful views, level sites, nice gravel/patio area, grass all around and freshly mowed. It was very nice and well maintained. The discount with the American the Beautiful Pass was a real bonus. Helpful staff and friendly. We liked it a lot.

Road is rough getting over to the campground but once we were there, we were impressed. Can not beat the view of the Mississippi River! If you want open area access for the satellite TV, you might want to park in the 5th wheel section. Staff was helpful and allowed us to move over there from the tree lined motor home sites. Level, concrete with pad and table. Free laundry! New washers and dryers and it was a pleasant surprise. We loved the place and would come back again. We camped in a motor home.

Loved this park and location. Not on the water but very close. Great location to visit the area and take day trips. Full hookups and well laid out campground. Long bike path that connects to the park was very nice and went around Lake Worth. Loved this place and would be glad to come back for another visit.
