About rwarner22

Full timers since May 2009. We live in our 40' 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus. We have stayed in a lot of military campgrounds and a good number of commercial ones. Our budget calls for $25 / night and we have averaged $21.63.

One of the very best in the military. Million dollar view, great staff. Well run park. Internet works fantastic. We love this place. Free laundry with new washers and dryers. Too bad other military bases can't take a lesson from these folks. They definitely do it right. We will return.

Nice campground out in the middle of nowhere. Some sites have no trees so we were able to get satellite TV after we moved. First Office staffer not helpful, the second one helped us move. Campground is pretty, has lots of kids on the weekends and not far from the dam with fishing. Showers and laundry were good. Verizon phones barely worked. Internet worked a couple days then did not over the weekend. Don't personally like to be so isolated. Probably would not camp here again.

Not that impressed with the office help or the prices here. Made reservations in person for the next week only to find out they had no record of it and was told our MH would not fit in that site anyway. Never mind the office personnel specifically put us there after checking it out. Wanted to be near friends. Got another site which worked out fine. It was grassy but level and our satellite worked so we were happy. If it weren't for our friends spending the winter there not sure if we'd stay there again. Too many other choices.

Great place to stay. Nice facilities and great options for beach, gym, golf and other on base activities. We stayed one night in overflow, dry camping and then got right into a regular site. Upgrades on many of the 30 amp sites are underway. We'd stay there again in our 40' motorhome.

Park is older but completely adequate. We scored a site in the back that had plenty of room and even a little privacy. Neighbors were snowbirds and very friendly. Older motorhomes parked throughout. Not the most fancy place we've stayed but the price was right and we liked it.

Needed to find something near Orlando area without paying some big dollars during high season. This was adequate. Not the prettiest place, had lots of long term residents. Nice staff and office help. Might stay here again if we need to see our friends in the area.

Very good overnight stop along Interstate 81. Easy access and wide open park, easy to get around the campground to site. Office staff was very good, no issues and friendly. Liked the concrete pads at the site which also was a pull-through. Would recommend it and not hesitate to stop here again.

Very clean campground with concrete pads and easy entrance/exit. Grass was mowed and it was a nice place. We'd camp here again. Didn't care for the casino. It was a bit of a drive over to the campground from the interstate but we wanted a no hassle full hookup 50 amp site for a hot summer evening. We found it here.

Not very impressive with this campground. I expected more. Staff was not very hospitable -- they were there to get me checked in and take my money. Not too welcoming. Not a big deal but it is an important part of making a the first impression. Campground had been rained on for a week and grass needed mowing, some sites needed to be regraveled and more work to do where water washed away some of the gravel road. It was very hot and humid so I am sure that prevented more work being done. Campsites were close together. Got an open site so satellite access was good for TV reception. Showers and restrooms were very good. Large gift shop and upstairs coffee bar/reading area in the office was nice. Probably would not stay here again. We camped in a 40' motorhome.

Overall I thought this place was a little pricey, but not as high cost as some of the campgrounds we have been to in the last 3 months. I realize it is high season so prices are high. The campground it self is great. Congrete pads, and well maintained campground. I like the open skies which mean we got good TV reception. The wifi was non-existent. The casino is typcial which we find a bit depressing. The stop is fine for an overnight stay. Not sure we'd spend the money to stay here again.

Adequately maintained campground. We stayed two nights and were not looking for anything great. Looks like the campground is doing just enough to make it OK. No upgrades, no energy or real hospitality from the staff - just taking care of things to run a business. Not trying too hard to make you feel welcome. Campground was OK. Think we'll try another one in the area next time.

Great overnight stay on our way to Branson. Small park that is very well taken care of. Very friendly and helpful staff. Campsites are gravel and level. Internet very good (how many campgrounds can say that??). We stayed here on our way to Branson and glad we did. We camped in a 40' motorhome and would do it again.

Hard campground to rate. In a word: Fair. Not a whole lot to chose from near Estes Park and Rocky Mountain NP without driving up the mountain. First the positives: Good location, friendly staff, nice pavilion with grass area, entertainment on Friday night which was a nice touch, site on the river, was able to get satellite TV (site 17) but most sites covered with trees. Now the negative: really dusty road, weak water pressure (and the reason the other restrooms and bathhouse at the other end is not open, sites more of a parking lot type versus campsite. Looks like they have been working hard since the 2013 floods but have a long way to go. Washers/dryers good. Looks like place has a lot of help but they don't seem to be doing much. Sites close to each other and neighbor had to break a branch to open his slide. Way too many permanent residents in what looks like the slums -- old RVs and trailers and poorly maintained sites not conducive to a good looking campground. Only get once to make a first impression and we would not stay here again.

Decent campground, nothing really noteworthy. Gravel all throughout, level sites. WiFi decent, laundry good. Small store, small office. Small pool. Easy access off I-70

Lot of upgrades underway. I liked the gravel all over. Sites were spacious. WiFi was excellent. In this day and age they figured it out at a pretty large campground. Impressive. Price was not and the major reason I downgraded my rating. Great location to lots of trails and not far from town. Very convenient. Pool was under repair during 100+ degree weather - another reason for the downgrade. Laundry was great. Ask for the front row. We like our spot on the end. Seemed like we were out in the country with that view. Arches in the distance are great.
