Glen Maury Park, Buena Vista, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great overnight stop. We cringe at paying big $$ for a one night stay but this is quite the opposite. Easy to find the park from I-81. Streets through town were wide and no issue for motorhome and tow. We parked in the wide oval grass area and had great spacing from our nearest neighbor. Open skies in the middle of the field so DirecTV not an issue. Best wifi we've had at a city park! Grass mowed and well maintained grounds. Will stay here again! We camped at Glen Maury Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Dodge RV Resort, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park but way over priced. I'd say the previous reviewer had it about right -- I like the park but not the price. They need to put up some directional signs. I was in the neighborhood but meandered around before I spotted the right street. Like other "Resorts" -- the name means more $$. If it is going to be called a resort, it should have a pool at the very least. Not sure I'd do it again. We camped in a 40' motor home. We camped at Fort Dodge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Boot Hill Museum was fantastic if you like 1880's history. Fabulous! Quite undersold -- should be advertised better. It is about the best in the whole country! I wish we'd have done this years ago. Very authentic displays, videos, artifacts in museum after museum after museum. What a find!

Stallbaumer RV Park and Campground, Seneca, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Decent park. Nice view across the pond. Didn't appreciate the $2 for wifi that was not that great. Site almost level. Laundry fine. sites are very close but no problem. Owner got every square inch out of his property to park RVs. Pedestals are in the wrong place but doable. Owner not onsite so you have to call him. Apparently runs another business and he comes over to the RV site to speak with you after a few have checked in. Was an OK stop but probably would check out others down the road. No convenient way to get out of park with car. Have to back up and do a three point turn from our campsite. We camped at Stallbaumer RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins, Henderson, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Great overnight stop. Easy on and off from the highway. Very well maintained. Excellent care and a nice campground. The hosts are very friendly and working hard. The 'old KOA' shows it. It is in great condition and has everything you need. Firewood for campsite was free! (who does that? most are adding a couple dollars here and there for everything). These folks are not trying to take advantage -- just interested in making our stay good so we'll come back. And we will! We camped at Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Onslow Beach Campsites (Military FamCamp), Camp Lejune Marine Base, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We liked this campground because of its location. The Atlantic Coastal waterway and drawbridge is 100 yards in one direction and the Onslow Beach is the same distance in the other. Great location! The registration office staff are friendly and helpful and we had the pick of 1/2 dozen sites. They could be a little longer, but it was no real issue in our 40' motorhome. Another real plus is the NEX mini mart that is next door to the office. Don't think we have seen that anywhere but it is really nice to have that nearby. The wifi is poor so we were unable to connect. If you want a good signal, you have to go near the office to log on. The views and beach are great, the picnic shelters are a plus and this is a place that we will return to. For a military campground, it is a little expensive at $32. That price may affect our return. We camped at Onslow Beach Campsites (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Travis AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Travis AFB, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Had no trouble finding an overflow space where we camped for two nights.

Park was almost full. Adequately maintained. Dump station and gravel site in overflow was fine. Parking tow was not a problem. There were shade trees, but I was still able to use my Winegard Trv'ler DirecTV satellite. Great location and will stay there again. We camped at Travis AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort, Angels Camp, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Campground was fine. Looks like it had been taken over and upgrades were in progress. We appreciate seeing campgrounds that are in good shape and are well maintained. Sites were level despite being on the side of a hill. It was not a problem other that being a little tight at the site. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Word of Life RV Park, Hudson, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park at the end of the long term park model and RV area. Some new sites with most having concrete pads. This Christian campground is open to all and follows a conservative list of activities. We enjoyed the fact we were able to take advantage of 'first time visitors stay free' policy. That was very nice. Call in reservations were good. The pool is a good distance away from the campground. Laundry facilities were adequate though dated. Campers were very friendly and we enjoyed a free Friday night concert. Facilities were good but we would not pay the rate of $60 per night. We camped in a 40' motorhome. We camped at Word of Life RV Park in a Motorhome.

Canyon Motel & RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

I liked this old motel/RV park. It seems to have a lot of history. The staff was friendly and gave us a good site. Our Internet and satellite TV worked fine. We only stayed one night on our way to California but it was a good choice and we would not hesitate to stay there again. We had been to the Grand Canyon the previous year and this year were just stopping on our way through to California. We would stay here in our 40-footer again. The Lakes RV & Golf Resort, Chowchilla, California

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very good stay during off season. It was hot but the swimming pool was great. Walking distance to the free golf. Only had to pay for the cart. Great golf course. Very nice campground on a small resort property. Nice pond and clubhouse with very pleasant surroundings. We loved it here and would stay again. We opted for the less expensive sites which were a bit tight and parking for the tow was on the street. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice and large campground. Facilities were in great shape - new and well maintained. Loved the large pull-through and level sites. Full hookups and nearby shopping at the pecan / orange grove outlet store one street over. It was a great place to stay. We would camp here again in our 40' RV. Yucaipa Regional Park, Yucaipa, California

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Really liked this campground. It is convenient and not far off I-10. We stayed 4 days and it was great. Our campsite was level and we had no issues with our Internet (Verizon Jetpack) and DirecTV. It was a nice, quiet, well maintained campground with full hookups and 50 amp service. A little pricey but a nice stop in the middle of the summer. We will return in our 40' RV. Kirtland AFB FamCamp , Kirtland AFB, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We like this place. It's very convenient for us and we return year after year. We stay in the 'newer' area with the large sites. Typical for many bases it seems, more and more people are homesteading and turning the campground into an extension of base housing. Nevertheless, the sites are unusually long and wide and very nice. Full hookups are available and we were able to wash our RV. The staff is good. One camp host was exceptional. I left over $10 in quarters in the laundry room. I reported the loss. She called me a week later and went out of her way when the Tupperware jar of quarters was returned. She called me and found a way to get the money back to me. Never heard of the 'way and above' service! Kudos to her for sure! We will be returning to the FamCamp on our next visit to Albuquerque. Our RV is 40' long. We camped at Kirtland AFB FamCamp in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I liked this KOA. It was in great shape and very well maintained. The owners were friendly and had done a lot of improvements. They were systematically working throughout the campground to improve it, upgrade it and make it a very desireable place to stop. We really liked it and would return.
