Duck Creek Recreation Area, Auburn, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This is a new Natural Resources District park in Nemaha County, Nebraska. Located around a man-made lake stocked with fish. Primitive tent, RV, and electric sites. 28 total sites with 4 designated for handicapped. Swimming beach, fishing jetty, boat launch, and hiking trails. If maintained, will be a very nice park. Unfortunately a 1.5 mile drive down a stone road that is very dusty. If this park had a dump station and was off a paved road, it would easily be at least an 8. No reservations, first come, first served. We camped at Duck Creek Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Indian Springs Campground, North Bend, Ohio

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Tidy park, its just right next to the highway and you can't avoid the noise. Only stayed here because Cincinnati doesn't have many choices for camping. We camped at Indian Springs Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park and convenient to I-74. Widely spaced sites, easy to maneuver and sufficient spots for bigger rigs. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Other than being convenient to Amana, Iowa there isn't much to say about this park. It's apparent the campground was planned by a farmer, all the sites in neat rows like corn. Not much more than a parking lot feel but with a little grass instead of pavement. If you have dogs, they'll enjoy watching the ground squirrels. Amana itself is cute, but you can find other camping options nearby with more character. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Midland RV Campground, Midland, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Its a gravel parking lot. Some trees but sites are for smaller RVs and looked to all be taken by long term campers. Only stayed because it was convenient to where we were visiting in MIdland. Would probably be ok for an overnight stop. DirecTV at site kept tiling, likely signal loss over cable. We camped at Midland RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Foss State Park, Foss, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

What a great park not all that far off I-40. Had a waterside site with water and electric. Plenty of space between sites and lots of shade trees. Best part was the clear night with a full sky of visible stars. Quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Foss State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mustang Run RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

A tidy park right next to the interstate. Rush hour traffic can make it difficult to exit the access road. Lots of traffic noise as would be expected. Clubhouse looked nice but was closed at 6pm when we wanted to play a game of pool after dinner. Sites are relatively close together, but still better than most KOAs. We camped at Mustang Run RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Timberline Campground, Waukee, Iowa

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

An average park that could be exceptional with updating and reconfiguration. Our second stay here while visiting nearby West Des Moines. This park has a great setting, not far from Interstate 80. Highway noise isn't too bad. The park is just older and has a strange, "KOA" like cramped layout. Facilities are older, and not that clean. If they would remove ~1/3 of the sites, it would make it easier to get around and really be worth the $$. I'd also put the long term, work campers in one section to create more space for the visiting campers. Heavy rains made the down slope sites soggy and muddy. We camped at Timberline Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fleming Park/Blue Springs Campground, Blue Springs, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00

Very nice park. Enjoyed our short stay in Lee's Summit. Sites are mostly level, nicely spaced. Electric only sites at northern end of park were probably the nicest. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Fleming Park/Blue Springs Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Older state park which could use some updates. Nice open spots. Nestled in Cottonwoods, which when blooming can create a mess. We camped at Lake Ogallala State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Bozeman Hot Springs Campground (formerly Bozeman KOA), Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

One of the oddest campgrounds we've ever stayed in. Layout is classic KOA tight. The apparent draw is the adjacent 'hot springs' which looks like an old bowling alley from the outside. Inside is an updated sprawling hot tub and pool area that was overcrowded. Walked in and walked out. Would not camp here again. We camped at Bozeman Hot Springs Campground (formerly Bozeman KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Devils Tower KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Second stay at this KOA; only real bonus is proximity to Devils Tower National Monument. Clean enough. Typical KOA tight sites in most places. Early in season so not too crowded. Windy conditions make it dusty. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
