Joe Wheeler State Park, Rogersville, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Clean and spacious sites. But you will do quite a bit of leveling. Avoid pull through sit A 5. It has a significant dip and looked some have really dragged going up into it. We stayed at A3-sewer would back up and over flow every time we tried to dump-reported the first time-thought it was fixed and it did the same thing again the next day. Had to use the dump station going out of the park when we left. If I stayed there again I would chose sites A2,A13 and A14 (30 amp service). Employees were nice and helpful. Bath houses clean but shower stalls need updating really bad. Paved sites. concrete picnic tables, fire ring. Had to leave a day early due to our car being involved in an accident on our way to a day excursion (not our fault-lady flew through stop sign on HWY 101). Rate it a 7 due to sewer issue. We camped at Joe Wheeler State Park in a Motorhome.

DeSoto Resort State Park, Fort Payne, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Made reservations months in advance for the Labor day holiday. Glad we did. The park was full. Camped in a Class C with tow vehicle at the pull through site 48. Site is asphalt-and required quite a bit of leveling on our spot. Sites are very long and great spacing in between your neighbor. Some of the pull thru-sites have a little bit of shade. Dad had site 49 and it was a little bit better at leveling. Fire pit/grill. The back in sites are fine gravel and looked to be a lot easier to level. Very clean and quiet park. Wish TN would take a look at updating their state parks like this.Had full-hookup W/E/S. Wi-fi reception was over at the bathhouse. The bath house was very nice and clean for a state park. Definitely bring enough supplies for your stay. Have to drive back down main road to get to the park store for any essentials. Good cable TV-lots of hiking trails. Alabama's best kept secret! Will definitely be back! Would rate this park a 10 except for the leveling issues and wi-fi. Picnic tables are wood/warped also. Beautiful campground! $40/per night reflects all the fees/taxes. No trash cans at sites-have to haul trash to main dumpster. We camped at DeSoto Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

Cove Lake State Park, Caryville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

If this state park only had sewer hook ups! Nice concrete picnic table and grill. Had to use the automatic jacks to level up. Very quiet-not a whole lot going on-but that was why we camped here-for peace and quiet. Price is prepaid reservations and fees. We camped at Cove Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Anchor Down RV Resort, Dandridge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

I have stayed here once a year ever since they have opened this awesome resort. The owners and staff are great. Stayed here July 4th weekend-forgot to make reservation for Golf cart- sold out-staff very accomadating to haul you to your destination.Took a one hour tour ($10 per person-new this year) on a very nice pontoon boat-staff made you feel safe and at home. Enjoyed the lake-warm and clean. Pool was very busy. This resort is our "mountain ocean getaway." 5 Stars, again, Anchors Down! We camped at Anchor Down RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Check out Historic Dandridge. Ate at Cowboys down the road-honored our reservations and table with a beautiful view of Douglas Lake. Also tried Angelos' in Dandridge across the green bridge-both restaurants had great food and service at out time of visit. Short drive to Pigeon Forge, too.

Cumberland Mountain State Park, Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at the full hookup loop. Paved asphalt site required quite a bit of leveling for our Class C: front tires were off the ground. Wonderful state park with sewer hookup. Bathrooms are old, but clean, with great water pressure from the shower head. Have stayed here several times and will stay again. We camped at Cumberland Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

River's End Campground & RV Park, Tybee Island, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Small C/G. Had to disconnect tow vehicle at office. Tight spaces. Gravel (mostly level) sites. Picnic table, fire ring (didn't use-too close to the people beside us). Fenced in dog park for 20lb or less dogs. Ours were over the weight limit, but it didn't seem to be used very much. We used it it a lot and were never told to vacate premises. C/G staff escort you to your spot, and deliver wood, etc. to your site. Highly recommend renting a golf cart to see the island or ride bicycle. $2/hr parking everywhere on the island. Walking distance to beaches as mentioned in previous reviews. Bath house needs updating, but was clean. Didn't use pool, too cold at the time. It was also clean. Would stay here again. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Stayed here for Thanksgiving weekend. Sites are gravel-did require a little bit of leveling. Office staff friendly-we've been here several times and they are always friendly and helpful. Very nice water pressure in the showers-very clean. Rest room area very clean also. WiFi slow-but didn't come here to be on the computer all day. Sites are close together. Will stay here again and again! We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

Rivers Edge Mountain RV Resort, Murphy, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Largest and most level Rv site we've ever had! All roads are paved and concrete. Grass was well taken care of. Hookups were excellent. Owners very friendly. We had an unexpected additional member stay with us-I called and asked how much extra-was told it was OK. There is road noise-but with the AC on you can't hear it. Will definitely return! Ocean Waves Campground, Waves, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This CC came highly recommended by a friend. Made reservations 3 months in advance for the Labor Day holiday. Received email confirmation for 2 sites. Drove 600+miles to be told only one site for one night! Manager/owner stated I'm sorry I'll get to the bottom of this-but I have no other sites. Did not stay or use any of the facilities because they made a "mistake" with out reservations. We camped at Ocean Waves Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground, Waves, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $108.00
Overall Rating:

Had reservations 3 months in advance at another CC down the road that was highly recommended (Labor Day weekend). Drove 600 miles only to find out "a mistake was made" Stopped in here on our way back from that other CC-was told they had space. Was very excited to just have 2 sites for the family (traveling in pairs). Our son was very happy with this choice versus the other CC any ways. Well maintained grass, level parking pads. Hookups are different-you will need a greater than 25 ft water hose for sure. Looks to be an older CC-but well maintained. The Mini-golf looked like it had been updated (free). Enjoyed the use of that several times. Husband and son took advantage of the game room-played pool($). I didn't personally check out the swimming pools-but my sister said they were nice. Mostly enjoyed the beach and local tourist stuff. I felt like the sites were adequately spaced compared to other beach front CC we've stayed at. Will definitely go back. The CC staff that we had dealings with were EXCELLENT. Bath houses need updating-but were essentially clean. Very busy Labor Day weekend. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Clean, level, concrete pads. Lots of room in between sites. Hookups well placed. Beautiful water view. Live band the Saturday night we stayed. Loved the outdoor swings at certain sites. Nice place to fish. Only wish they offered jet ski or boat rentals! Roads are tight getting in-but doable! We camped at Blue Water RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

New York City North / Newburgh KOA, Plattekill, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

One of the better KOA's we've ever stayed at. Our site was gravel, but almost level. Enough space in between sites so you didn't feel like you were on top of each other. Lots are wooded, had a pull through site. Staff friendly. Went on the NYC bus tour-had a wonderful guide and great time-felt safe. Used the mini-golf and basketball areas. Would definitely stay here again. 15 minute or less driving time to nearest train station to go into NYC on our own. Camped here in a Class C with car in tow, had plenty of room for this. Shenandoah Valley Campground, Mount Jackson, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Quick and efficient check-in-was escorted to site. Had pull thru #8 #9. These seem to be the more level sites. Sites are gravel. Minimal levelling required. Has nice, clean pool, small Basketball court and goal. The usual play area for children. Also has a huge fire pit surrounded by porch swings. Checked out bath facilities and they were clean and well maintained. This place has only been open for 3 years - what a nice surprise it was! Would definitely be back. Easy on and off from I-81. Stayed in Section 1. Our site was sloped - so it was hard to level motorhome even with electric jacks. The inner sites seemed to be a little more level. Loved having sewer hook up at a state park. Sites are paved. Quiet at night. Plan on staying longer next time. We camped at Cumberland Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

Anchor Down RV Resort, Dandridge, Tennessee

Excellent CG in every way! This one beats Disney's Fort Wilderness or any ocean front site. Camped here in a Class C with view of Douglas lake from front of coach. The owner's have really put a lot of money and detail into planning this RV Resort. Hookups are well placed. I had no problem with the "Arizona" feel landscaping-just added to the neatness of everything. Can't wait to book a return visit. The office staff are Excellent, too! When word gets out about this "paradise in our back yard" it'll be hard to get a site! We camped at Anchor Down RV Resort in a Motorhome.
