Boardman Marina Park, Boardman, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This "could" be a hidden treasure located along the Columbia River with easy access on and off I-84. We only stayed one night and did not want to unhook. Pull through along the south side seemed to have more slope, are a little short for our 38' and utilities, especially sewer, are not conveniently located. They are shaped in an arc and share the entrance/exit so each site patron needs to be considerate about where they park. In the first spot (48) we would be blocking a car if we parked where we could access the sewer. The 2nd spot (50), in order to get level we had to use 3 lengths of sewer hose, which of course, could not be supported the entire way. The sewer inlet was at an angle so one us of had to hold it in while dumping to prevent it from popping out. Had a small tree branch that interfered with the satellite. The pull through's on the north (river) side looked to be flatter. Next time we will get a back-in which all seemed to have tons of room. Wifi was poor. Verizon adequate. Train comes by often, is loud, but no horn. We camped at Boardman Marina Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Opt for one of the pull throughs on the north (river) side if available or get a back-in and unhook. To us unhooking would have been easier and better all around than using the south side pull through's.

Ambassador RV Resort, Caldwell, Idaho

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice resort with easy access on and off the freeway. Fuel is close by. Wide, paved interior roads with small round rock in the level parking areas. This was great as you track dirt inside the RV. Grass areas between sites. Very pleasant management. Good wifi and Verizon. Nice lounge area. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Ambassador RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pony Express RV Resort, North Salt Lake, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Easily a 9 or 10 rating. Well maintained park with concrete pads and grass between the sites. It is close to the freeway, but noise did not bother us. Easy in and out. Secure with passcode to get in. Sewer hookup with one length of hose only just barely got our motorhome inside the space - but tons of room in front. Nice management. Would absolutely stay here again. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Archview RV Resort & Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $77.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located about 10 miles north of Moab near the turnoff to Canyonlands. Gravel roads and sites. Our site was a premium site with adequate room between sites, a picnic table and a small tree. Had a great view to the SE and could even see an arch if you squint hard! Wifi decent. Verizon reception good. Check-in was easy and friendly. Easy in and out. Gas station on premises is expensive, as is propane. Can stay here close to the entrances to the parks and drive to town, or stay in town and drive to the parks. Would stay here again. We camped at Archview RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Arches and Canyonlands NP's. Plan on spending a day at each. Great scenery and hikes. Could easily do more days and there are other attractions nearby that we would have liked to see. Some of the Arches parking areas are full early. Ate at the Moab Brewery and really enjoyed it.

Monument Valley KOA (formerly Monument Valley Camp Park), Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

New KOA campground along the main road just NE of the visitor center. Surrounded by amazing views of the monuments in every direction. Great night skys. Level gravel/rock sites with grass areas, new trees planted, picnic tables and fire rings. The summary should be changed to show 50amp service. Plenty of room between sites. Wifi was also spotty. Verizon reception is poor and comes and goes. No cable or OTA. Very helpful management and staff. Some buildings such as the office were still being finished. We were a little dismayed at first when we pulled in bit this park turned out to be everything we needed. Had some RV problems and the owner checked in often to see how we were doing. He also gave us some great ideas about when and how to explore the area. We would stay here again. We camped at Monument Valley KOA (formerly Monument Valley Camp Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ask the owner abut the best way to explore. We found the $20 fee to drive the very bumpy road out through the monuments to be worth it. Takes a couple of hours. There are also tours. Saw all types of cars on the road. Take the loop through the Moki Dugway to the Natural Bridges NP to Blanding and back. Can include the Valley of the Gods gravel road in this loop, altho we did not.

Page Lake Powell Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

I second some of the recent comments. Our back-in sites were not level enough to level easily with our Motorhome or our friend's 5th wheel especially front to back. Tree branches need to be trimmed - out too far to get close to utilities and put out slides without touching. GPS was off by a quarter of a mile and sign was not easy to see so had to loop around the city to get back. Had the same problem with not knowing where to park for registration since you can go left or right just after you enter. Gravel roads and sites. Decent amount of room between sites. Wifi not so great. Verizon reception good. Conveniently located for visit to Antelope Canyon and town. Easy in and out. We camped at Page Lake Powell Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon tours. Make reservations as far in advance as you can. Upper fills fast and is level and sandy. Lower is maybe easier to get a reservation - has some steps and narrow spots but really great and probably see more colors and sun - about a mile or so walk altogether. You have to have a Navajo tour guide and they give you a lot of info. Horseshoe Bend is about 1.5 miles RT and worth the walk.

Overall Rating:

Gravel roads and sites. Plenty of room between sites. Wifi decent. Verizon reception good. We could not get cable to come in, even with help, and all our stays before and after worked well. OTA was just a few channels. Great management. Free waffles and coffee/juice for breakfast. Did not use the spa. Conveniently located for visit to grand Canyon and town. easy in and out. Durango RV Resort, Red Bluff, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We always stay here going north or south. Great park. Friendly staff. Hope the park owners read this....This time noticed a derelict car on the street coming in that had been completely trashed. Also another car, no wheels or tires outside the fence on the NW by the river. Several grocery carts and signs of homeless. Not inclined the walk the river trail. A neighbor had 2 bikes stolen. Overall makes the park feel a little less top notch than in the past. Don't get me wrong, the park still has a top notch look inside the fence. Pool and clubhouse is great. Will absolutely still stay here again. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Flag City RV Resort, Lodi, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very level concrete pads with plenty of room and trees. Utilities a little too far to rear so had to unhook and park in front. Between pads was just a dirt so if there was rain it would be a mess? Or if water runs for some reason. Issues with their wifi - possibly a new system. Did not work the whole time we were there. Asked and they gave us the blurb about our connection. After the 6th day I asked again and they said they had been waiting for a part for 6 days. I'm sure they will get it fixed at some point. Verizon service was good. A tree spray company came to the site and told us to close our windows so they could spray. I asked them to come back after we left in an hour or so and finally let them spray. Of course I could feel spray speckles on the side of the RV and had to clean it. They should figure it out and spray between visitors. Don't feel I should not have to wash my RV because they have to maintain the property. Would still come back and would recommend this park. We camped at Flag City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best parks we have stayed in. I won't go over all the excellent comments from others. We always stay here on our way to AZ and back. Not only are the sites concrete, level and long, but they are nice and wide as well. Hookups are conveniently located which is a big plus. Highly recommended. Dos Reis Regional Park, Lathrop, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This used to be our favorite spot in the area but has continuously gotten worse. It is a small county park and not all that big rig friendly! The narrow access road past the school has 2 trees that encroach on the road and if you meet someone or are not watching you will scratch your rig. Although you can negotiate the park with a little effort, they do not trim the trees regularly so again you can scratch your rig. As you leave the park on the access road there is another tree that will scrape the top. I have reported all of these things several times and no action. Used to feel pretty safe here, but getting worse. Pull throughs (3) work well for larger rigs. Some of the sites are not very level so choose carefully. We decided to go to French Camp after this and while it says it is not big rig friendly there, it is much better than Dos Reis. Some power connections have shown a fault on our device. Sometimes the sewer connection overflows while dumping. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

French Camp RV Park Resort & Golf Course, Manteca, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Good place to stay going through. Concrete pads throughout. We have a 38'MH and did not have trouble negotiating the park, but they do have rocks to prevent you from driving on the grass. As some others have stated we had to pull to the front of the pad and unhook the toad and then back up to the hookups. If you wanted to stay hooked up you would not be able to reach sewer. Plenty of room to park toad. Did not use Cable- over the air had a fair amount of channels. They have morning garbage pickup, but did not mention at checkin. The Sports Bar and Grill has great nachos. Did not golf or pool. We camped at French Camp RV Park Resort & Golf Course in a Motorhome.

Spokane RV Resort, Deer Park, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Although this is quite a ways north of Spokane, it is a very nice place to stay. Easy drive to major shopping. Deer park has everything you need though. Our site was on the golf course. One complaint is that all the sewer connections are clear at the rear. Takes 3 15' sections to hook up and get your rig far enough forward so it does not get sprinkled underneath. Restaurant was good as was the entire park. Paved parking for your tow rig. We camped at Spokane RV Resort in a Motorhome.
