Lake Bonnet Village, Avon Park, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice clean park. It is a cooperative so there are many permanent sites. There is fishing from the docks. The park has many activities. Roads are paved but somewhat narrow and twisting. May have a problem leveling on some of the sites. Sites have cement patios. We camped at Lake Bonnet Village in a Motorhome.

General Coffee State Park, Nicholls, Georgia

Date of Stay: December, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We were traveling through the area and camped overnight at the park. We were in Campground 2. Very large level sites; very peaceful and quiet. We had a car on a dolly and did not have to unload the car. Staff was very helpful. We would camp here again. A real jewel of a campground. We camped at General Coffee State Park in a Motorhome.

Shoal Creek Campground, Buford, Georgia

Date of Stay: December, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is now managed by Lake Lanier Island Resort. We had site #9 that was level and long enough for our 37' MH plus dolly. There were several more back-in sites that would be long enough. Bathrooms could use improvement but were clean. Camp staff was very helpful and friendly. While the campground does not have full hookups, they do have honey wagon service for a fee. Campground does accept Passport America for 2 nights. We would camp here again. We camped at Shoal Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Moraine View State Park, Le Roy, Illinois

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed the campground and agree with most of what has been said about it. The bathrooms are beat up, but were clean. Many of the sites are closer together than what you would normally expect in a state park, but still more spacious than most private campgrounds. If you are camping in a motorhome, it may be difficult to level on some of the sites. We had our choice of sites and used F5 that was very level. Great view of the lake. We camped at Moraine View State Park in a Motorhome.

Mississinewa Lake, Peru, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We camped in the full hook up section. Very large campsites with large area behind the RV sites. There is a slight roll to the campgrounds, and therefore, it can be hard to level larger units on some sites. Our front wheels were off the ground. However, we identified sites for the next trip that are level. Restrooms and showers are a little old and could use updating, but have seen worse at private campgrounds. We had grandchildren with us. The playgrounds were very nice. There was a very large beach and fishing piers. Camp store had very reasonable prices for ice cream, treats, etc. We will camp here again. We camped at Mississinewa Lake in a Motorhome.

Lithia Springs COE, Shelbyville, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Agree with post from July 2008. They are doing work on the bathrooms, etc. Rest rooms and showers were semi-clean, kind of what you expect at COE. Have seen worse in private campgrounds. Grandkids had a great time at the beach and fishing. Sites are very large and have paved pads, but some are deteriorating. Our site (115) was very level. We will camp here again. Our rate was based on the America the Beautiful Senior Pass (half price). We camped at Lithia Springs COE in a Motorhome.

Good Hope Campground, Cullman, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The campground had what was promised: a level pull-through site, electric, water and sewer. The rest rooms, laundry, and office were in terrible shape. Most campers were permanent residents. The campground was once listed in Woodall's, but no more. Cash or check only. We camped at Good Hope Campground in a Motorhome.

Welaka Lodge & Resort, Welaka, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2009 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very quiet campground. Wonderful dock on the river. Campsites are somewhat tight, but each has fire pit and a table. Great location for exploring the area. Entering the campgrounds can be confusing. You must take road to the right. The office is actual beyond the camping sites. It would be best to pull in and walk to office, otherwise you will have to circle the campgrounds. We will stay again. We camped at Welaka Lodge & Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed in campground 1 and sites were muddy due to a recent rain. Facilities in campground 2 and 3 are newer and in better condition than those in campground 1. We would stay here again. We camped at Roaring River State Park in a Motorhome.

The pads are concrete and very level. There was plenty of room to park a motorhome, dolly and car. The staff was very helpful. They spent considerable time trying to find us a site to extend our stay. We camped at Bennett Spring State Park in a Motorhome.
