Ratcliff Lake, Kennard, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Arriving at the gate with a reservation we found a sign saying $20 per night with 50% discount for national senior pass. When I made the reservation online with no assistance, a $10 service fee and a total of $7.50 discount was applied and my 2 night stay was now $35. I called rec.gov and after 52 minutes of hold and transfer was told the $10 was for electric (it isn't) and then was told they would send in to the park to get authorization to refund me $5. The park is becoming derelict looking due to many downed trees and underbrush. We were greeted by the nice park host who moved us to a walk-in site that he said would be better for us. That was the best part of our stay. We would caution those making online reservations to watch for overcharging at the federal sites. We have stayed at COE parks for 10 years with none of this hassle. We camped at Ratcliff Lake in a Motorhome.

Red River Ranch RV Resort, Thackerville, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $2.00
Overall Rating:

The staff is friendly and helpful. The overall park is neat and cared for nicely. The laundry machines needed some attention and got it. Anything mentioned to the staff is taken care of post haste. They graciously allowed me to have an alternator replaced on site by a roadside repair service, and indicated they were glad to know how to contact this service. We'll come back here when the area. We camped at Red River Ranch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very relaxing place to stop. It is near large cities or you can go into Columbus and get good food at small town prices. The manager is customer service guided so your stay will be great. Great bass fishing in the river beside the park! We camped at Colorado River Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

There are many deer and turkeys that visit you daily and some of the greatest sunsets over Lake Whitney. The sites are level, partially shaded, and within view of the lake , with distance between them. We camped at McCown Valley COE in a Motorhome.

Bulow RV Resort, Flagler Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

There were 2 Portapotties at the pool (they are looking into installing bathrooms??). The roads were a challenge with gullies and holes in the dirt roads. They couldn't figure out what discount I could ad finally made up a fee and added resort fee of $4 per day. A phone call to the manager after we left resulted in a small refund... It probably could be a nice park but our stay left a lot to be desired. We camped at Bulow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Redfish Bay RV Resort, Aransas Pass, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Road to park has been repaired and there is minimal truck traffic on it compared to our last visit. We stayed here to be close to kayak fishing and lots of inexpensive restaurents. The owners are onsite and make sure your stay is great. It is neatly mowed, level sites are a big plus, and secure. We camped at Redfish Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Millwood Landing Golf & RV Resort, Ashdown, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a favorite short stay park for us but this time we were disappointed that everything was closed except the pool. The few staff we saw told us that there was a staff shortage so there was no restaurant or golf course available. The sites were clean and neat. We didn't attempt to fish in the 2 ponds as we were told there was an abundance of alligators now inhabiting them. For a quiet short stay it is OK. The price reflects our TT rate. We camped at Millwood Landing Golf & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tar Camp COE, Pine Bluff, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

The park had just reopened after severe flooding by the Arkansas River which deposited up to 4 feet of sand in areas of the park. It was ready for the July holiday crowd and had been manicured for all to enjoy. There is no more awesome sight to watch than the barges that are 1/4 mile long being pushed up or down the river by boats, especially at night when they are lit up with colored lights. We sat in chairs 50 feet from the water on our shady site for hours on end watching them. We camped at Tar Camp COE in a Motorhome.

Ajax Country Livin' RV Park at I-49, Marthaville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We were greeted by the owner and guided to our level, grassy, site next to a shade tree. This park is small and cozy and the owners go out of their way to make your stay wonderful. The lake is large and loaded with fish for catch and release. With chairs and grill lakeside, you can just sit back and relax. Be sure to visit the Mansions in nearby Natchitoches, the oldest city in LA. We hope we can come back to this tranquil RV park soon. We camped at Ajax Country Livin' RV Park at I-49 in a Motorhome.

Be sure to visit the oldest city in LA, Natchitoches, on the Cane river. The 3 plantations to the south were built and operated by 4 generations of free, black people who never had been slaves.

We stayed here 2 months and enjoyed it the whole time. The park is 15 minutes from Rockport, Port Aransas, Corpus Christi, and close to shopping. The owners are very congenial and have made this park a good place to stay. Concrete pads for all sites, clean grounds, and nice recreation building. We would stay here again. We camped at Redfish Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice, fairly new park. Staff very helpful and park is well kept. The $9.00 rate was based on a monthly rate divided by 30 nights. We camped at Coastal Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Colorado River Thousand Trails, Columbus, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a relaxed, member only, park with large pecan trees and many deer roaming. On this stay the hot tub and pool were closed but most other facilities were open. A new manager is in place but he is not very friendly, rarely speaks to members or guests. The maintenance staff do a great job and the housekeeping is great with clean bathrooms and buildings. We would recommend this park to all who can use it. We camped at Colorado River Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Bears Den Resort, Grove, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

The park is popular on the weekends and thus becomes full of tents and children. There are very few sewered sites and the office staff isn't aware of where they are located. We found 5 that they were not aware of and were very gracious when we told them. The staff tries very hard to please the guests. The term resort is used rather loosely here. Our family would stay here on a short stay but not an extended stay. We camped at Bears Den Resort in a Motorhome.
