Fort Pickens Campground, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

This is our favorite campground. Loop A is the best of all the loops to stay in as it is the newest Loop. The Restrooms have been updated and were spotless when we used them. The Campground registration office employees were very nice and helpful. The beach is walking distance from the campsites and not crowded at all. We camped at Fort Pickens Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Bogue Chitto State park, Franklinton, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the upland section and consider this to be the nicest state park we've stayed in. The roads are paved and limestone pads where rv's park with full hookups. Wifi doesn't work even though your phone or ipad shows there is a signal. Staff is very friendly and helpful and keep the campground very clean. We camped at Bogue Chitto State park in a Fifth Wheel.

Burns Point Boat Launch & Rv Campground, Franklin, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This Campground is located in Centerville La. Exit and go South on Hwy. 317 for approximately 15 miles from Hwy. 90. It is on the shore of Cote Blanche Bay. You can fish from behind some of the camping sites. Sites and roads in campground are gravel. There is a public boat launch right next to campground. Bring enough provisions because you will be at least 2o miles from town. We camped at Burns Point Boat Launch & Rv Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A nice country park in the city which is ideally located. The park was very quiet and felt very safe. Management was very nice and friendly and made you feel comfortable. This park is very close to LSU and a number of places to eat. When we are in the area we will stay again. We camped at Farr Park Campground & Horse Activity Center in a Motorhome.

Big Lagoon State Park, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Our site had a lot of privacy and composed of soft sand unlike other sites that had a concrete pad, which was somewhat unlevel. Roads had potholes and trash bins were inconvenient. Two of the three bath houses were closed due to being renovated. If you want to go to the beach you need to leave the park and go a couple of miles to Perdido Key. We camped at Big Lagoon State Park in a Motorhome.

Buccaneer State Park, Waveland, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Park was very clean and neat. Roads in the park are paved and great shape with no potholes. Full hookups at all sites. The biting gnats were terrible and ate me alive as I forgot to bring bug spray, whatever you do don't leave home without some if you plan on staying here. There needs to be more signs showing how to get to park. We camped at Buccaneer State Park in a Motorhome.

Sam Houston Jones State Park, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in campground 1. The roads were full of potholes and sites did not have enough gravel so some sites were very muddy. Roads in campground were not marked and very confusing. Camping area needs to be updated. Power and water Pedestal and sewer location required extra lengths of hose and electric cable to reach which was inconvenient. We camped at Sam Houston Jones State Park in a Motorhome.

Bayou Segnette State Park, Westwego, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park is currently being renovated including registration office. Right now they have a one person booth which is ridiculous because blocks all lanes going into park even though you are checked in. You can sit there for long periods of time just to get in. Not enough signs directing you to camping area. Strange way of getting in and out of park after hours which is a completely different route than during daylight hours. Would stay here again but not impressed. We camped at Bayou Segnette State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bogue Chitto State park, Franklinton, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the upper loop. The road in the loop has been paved since our last stay but not the individual sites. They are still gravel. It rained while we were there and many sites did not have enough gravel and turned into a muddy mess. It was the case with our site. We camped at Bogue Chitto State park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Fausse Pointe State Park, Saint Martinville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Some sites hard to get into due to the narrow roads in campground. The power and water pedestals are on the right side of the site which means you have to pass electric and water lines under the camper if your connections are on the drivers side. Be prepared with supplies as there are no stores near by. Bath houses kind of dirty due to busy weekend but appear to be taken care of. The best time to camp is in the winter so the mosquito's don't carry you off. We will return We camped at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Pickens Campground, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Walking distance to the beach makes staying here great. We stayed in loop A site 35, it was about 4 inches off level on passenger side. There is more space between campsites in loop A. Hosts were friendly and easy going. The bathhouses need updating. You have to pay $8.00 fee at main entrance to national park to get to campground unless you have Golden Access or similar then it doesn't cost anything. We will return next vacation. We camped at Fort Pickens Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Chicot State Park, Ville Platte, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Roads are narrow in places and make backing into sites tricky. Electrical panel was on wrong side on our site. Employee at office was very nice and accommodating. Only stayed one night due to bad weather moving through. Many excellent walking and bike trails available. We stayed in the south loop, we heard north loop was much nicer put did not go and check it out. We camped at Chicot State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ken's Campgound, Erath, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small, country campground on Lake Peigneur. The owner is a retired gentleman that is very accommodating and easy to get along with. There is a pier, boat launch, and a clubhouse. Sites 13 and 17 are the best for lakeside parking. There is a dump station. The reason I rated it an 8 is because there are no restrooms or showers or sewer hookups and only 30amp electric. This is a fantastic campground for a weekend getaway on the lake. We camped at Ken's Campgound in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice state park. We stayed in the upland camping area. There is a lot of space between sites. Bathrooms were spotless and were cleaned every morning. I can see the dust from the roads being a problem when it does not rain for a while. We would camp here again if we have the time. We camped at Bogue Chitto State park in a Fifth Wheel.

Poche Plantation, Convent, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very well maintained and clean park. The tour of the plantation house given by the owner is very entertaining to say the least. The pool and restrooms are spotless. Great place to get away and relax. The only downside is the dusty interior roads due to the lack of rain. We will definitely be repeat customers. We camped at Poche Plantation in a Fifth Wheel.
