Very nice park! Beautiful ocean and beach access. Park is old and has limited sites with full service. The dump station was very crowded when we left. They need an additional dump station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Airport noise is quite loud at times.

We stayed here during Easter weekend. When we arrived the owner checked us in. He used a memorized script telling me the do's and don'ts. He wasn't rude but wasn't very friendly either. It seemed like he didn't want to be there. He gave me some printed info about the campground and related rules. The rules were highlighted in yellow and were plentiful. He told me to have the dog use the bathroom on the gravel. There was no area for dogs to use. The park is pretty and situated on Buck Creek. The sites are very small. We had a "premium super stream site". It was very small and our car didn't fit very well in front of the motor home. The road in the park is gravel and probably very dusty at times. We didn't notice dust since it had rained recently. There were no trails or walking areas.

This park is conveniently located to many of Asheville's attractions and downtown area. The campground appears to be old with little updating to the sites. The views that other reviewers have referred to escaped me. We were located in one of their best sites with what was supposed to be a view. You're higher up in this park but I wouldn't consider the views to be anything special. You have interstate 40 on one side with some level of noise. It's not real loud but you can definitely hear it. On the other side is a view of some type of repair shop, garage or something with equipment parked outside. The water spigot for our site was very close to the sewer hookup drain which was gross. Also this park is very overpriced for what it is. They are able to charge this much because of the proximity to Asheville happenings. Overall: a very average, overpriced and dated park.

The previous posts are accurate and I agree for the most part. We camped here over the Memorial weekend. The sites are old and tired but in good condition and clean. My son and I fished but the water was shallow near the shore and out into the reservoir for quite a distance. Having a boat would definitely help. Overall it was OK. We have stayed at other COE campgrounds that are nicer. The staff was very pleasant.

As others have stated, the owners are super nice and the campground is well kept. The website refers to its location as a mountain hollow but it's more like a gravel road between two ridges. The campground road dead ends to some other homes and there is some traffic going through the campground (kind of fast and dusty) to get to their homes. The New River Trail is a real attraction there but not much else. The town is an old run down mill town with little to offer. The people are extremely nice though.
