As many of the older reviews have stated, the campground is very outdated and unmaintained. The one shower/restroom house we used was pretty rough. of the 8 stalls, 6 are boarded closed, 2 are "operational" as they are sitting on painted wood boxes. There were 2 working showers. The facility was flooded due to the storms the night before. There are many many permanent units that are absolutely hideous. There are very few trees and the sites are pretty tight together. Picture a traditional trailer park and then lower the bar about 5 feet. The grounds are huge as this is a campground with around 1100 sites. We came here on the recommendation of some friends and I can honestly say that we'll stick to the State Parks. It's cheaper, the facilities are far nicer, and the people are much more friendly. golf carts are all over the place and bike are required to have lights after sunset. Look elsewhere, you'll be much happier you did.

Another nice Michigan State Park. Nice and wooded, sites range from grass to dirt based on the amount of sunshine. Facilities were about what you would expect.. Fairly clean and usable. Good place to camp although it is a bit more cramped than most other State Parks. Barking Dogs again though. Seems like there were as many dogs as there were people.

We camped here for a quick weekend and found this State Park to right on par with the other State Parks we have been to. Sites range from grassy to pretty much dirt based on the amount of trees. Our site was pretty much dirt but we wanted the full shade. I love the wooded feel of the park and the facilities are kept up to about average. I think my only complaint would be about the number of dogs.. actually, i think my complaint would have to be directed at the owner of the dogs. Seems most dog owners were either oblivious to their barking dogs, or just didn't care. The Beach was really nice even though it was still a bit too chilly to enjoy the water.
