Tumbling Waters, Almond, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

WOW!!! What a wonderful place to spend some quality time in the mountains, the owners are fantastic and will go out of their way to help you out. The bathrooms are kept immaculate and there are individual rugs for each camper to take into the shower, this is a really nice touch. Our site was creek side and the kids had a great time playing the crystal clear water (it is ice cold but clear as a bell). The trout pond on site is really nice and they will even clean them for you while you wait. The sites are kind of close together but that wasn't a problem for us, there are plans to add decks to the stream-side sites and when that is done this place will be the ONLY place I will stay when I go to bike the trails of Tsali and kayak the Nantahalla. Do yourself a favor and go see Joe and Caroline at Tumbling Waters. We camped at Tumbling Waters in a Travel Trailer.

Raccoon Mountain RV Park & Campground, Chattanooga, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We were given a site that appeared to be in the middle of the road, and spent the first couple hours, constantly explaining to people that it was a site and not a road. If you must stay here refuse site 151. The area around the pool was surrounded with cig. butts and beer cans so I chose not to even take my kids in there. It looked like with some TLC (and maybe on a weekend other than the 4th of July) it could have been a nice place with a really nice playground, etc. Overall I was very disappointed and will not return and recommend you seek a different campground if you have to be in the area. We camped at Raccoon Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Brown County State Park, Nashville, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

10 for beauty and location, the only reason I gave it a 7 is because of the lack of water and sewer on site, this is really a minor inconvenience but enough to not warrant a 10. If you haven't been to Brown County State Park it is wonderful and there is no better way to experience all it has to offer than by staying the campground right in the park. We camped at Brown County State Park in a Travel Trailer.
