Battle Row Campground, Old Bethpage, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

This park has been upgraded since the last time(15 yrs)I was here. Newer looking shower house, and playground for kids. Sites are level, nice size, mixed open and shady, mostly shaded. No fire rings I would think due to droughty summer, but folks with fire bowl were flame on. I use an LP faux fire for the fun of it,and no smoke. We camped at Battle Row Campground in a Motorhome.

Prince Gallitzin State Park, Patton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Camped on July 4th week end. Big Mistake!!! The park is like the Disney World of PA State campgrounds. Every oversized diesel pick up with oversized exhaust pipes and Harley's cruising though at all hours. Speeding through. People burning their trash and making noise all night. Kids I don't mind, we have 4 grown up now but, parents still need to control them. Multitudes of pontoon boats lining the marinas. And the camper store is like 7/11 and Walmart combined. DCNR gated until after 10 then gone, wide open. Told about fireworks prohibition but 7/3 was cracking all night with no one to control. Not a park to enjoy, more like a motel parking lot at the Jersey shore. Only good thing is location to Altoona area sites and if you do have a lake boat for fishing. We camped at Prince Gallitzin State Park in a Motorhome.
