We chose Cherry Hill because of the location & strong reviews and it lived up to our expectations. We wanted a safe place to sleep while touring DC, not a park to explore, enjoy, and relax. It is easy to get to this park. The highways I-95 and I-495 are visible from around the park and are can be heard, but to get good location to the beltway that was a fair trade for us. Our site was adequate with all connections although on the the smaller side. This didn't matter much as we were touring DC and the surrounding area. Check-in was quick and smooth. The clerk gave complete information and answered all our questions pleasantly. The Metro was available as advertised & passes can be easily purchased at the office, but travel time can be one hour to get into or out of the city. It took us 2 hours on the Metro to get back to the campground from the Marines' Sunset Parade. We drove in the rest of the week & found parking without much hassle. Our whole family enjoyed the pool complex with the DC summer heat. It was clean & had plenty of chairs. My daughters enjoyed the playground with all play structures in good repair. There were even some climbing structures they hadn't seen anywhere before. My parents and sister (and her family) stayed in a rental unit and loved it. It was clean, well stocked, spacious, and air conditioned. The campground has many rentals to accommodate travelers without their own units. Cherry Hill is a well run & organized campground. There are not too many frills, but you won't need them if you are touring DC. If you want a place to park your unit & hit the road to see the area, I would recommend Cherry Hill.

This is our all time favorite campground. I have camped here since I was 7 and look forward to our trips every year. This park is clean, well organized, and has so much to do. We never leave when we are here. The pools are crystal clean and the front pool is heated so you can swim in just about any weather spring/fall. The dog park is the best I have ever seen with a large fenced area and agility obstacles. The kids will not get bored here. There is an extensive activity schedule, and there are always kids to play. I don't think I have ever seen an activity canceled due to low participation. The draw back is the price, Normandy Farms is the most expensive campground we visit. I can tell you they put the money back into the facility though. The rec hall is second to none, the grounds are beautiful, and the pool complexes are many.

We had a great week here! The heavy rains evacuated river sites of the camp the day before we arrived and it caused the river to flow fast, but our site was high & dry near the pond. The 30 minute float on a tube turned into a 7 minute blast on the river, the kids loved it. The pond is loaded with tadpoles & frogs for the kids to have fun with. The nightly family activities were extensive & well run. My kids loved the water slide and especially the radar gun afternoon to clock your time. The store is well stocked and reasonably priced so running to the nearby Walmart/grocery store is not necessary. The snack bar has WIFI & reasonable prices. The owners were actively working around camp & take pride in their new venture. The only draw back is how the camp is separated by a dangerous road. I did not allow my kids to cross without us. Although there is a blinking light to alert drivers, the crossing is close to a hill which makes seeing approaching cars difficult. We actually had to run twice because of the cars. We have already made plans to return next year & can't wait to see what new improvements will be evident!

After making reservations in winter & driving 5 hours to the region with our family & friends, we were told our friends couldn't have the site they had reserved because another camper had parked there by mistake & they wouldn't be asking him to move. They couldn't have the river site they paid for. Then we drove our trailer down to our site, it was the smallest site. We have a modest 30' trailer with a 16" slide and there was no way to fit it in the site! The manager said we could have another site away from the river. From the discussion with the campers on either sides of our site, they have had many problems here. I asked for a refund, (which was this places only saving grace) and all of us drove out & found another campground. Should have known it would be a bad experience when we never received any letter of confirmation of our paid in full reservation & lack of follow up to emails and phone calls. We were looking for a less costly Lake George camping vacation and certainly got what we paid for! I would not recommend this place to any friend or family - there are far too many other places in the region!

Stayed here for week over the 4th, with 2 kids & dog. Kids love the beach & lake that is weed controlled and has sandy bottom. A nice little island for able swimmers to swim out to. My lab loved swimming at the dog beach too. The pool is geared toward younger kids as it is shallow and has tons of kiddie water features, so we only visited once on our stay. It was clean, but my kids said the lake water was warmer. The weekday activities were fairly limited as compared to other resorts we camp at, but the weekend was fantastic. Live band Sat. night, and beach party/DJ family dance with fireworks on Sun. were outstanding. We all had a great time. The weather over the week was prone to pop up storms and this resort handled the situation better than I have ever seen. Staff drove to beach and informed us the storm would be entering the area in about 10 minutes so we should go prepare. This happened various days and each time staff drove around informing campers. The staff was also very attentive to a dead battery in our tow vehicle. The quickly sent help & got us on our way. We will camp here again, plan to bring what you'll need and enjoy time around camp fishing, hiking, biking, swimming because it is a drive to get anything you'll need (and there is extremely limited cell service).
