Joe Wheeler State Park, Rogersville, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We had a wonderful time at this campground. The roads were paved and campsites were paved and fairly level. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The camp hosts made frequent rounds and were also very friendly. We had lunch at the restaurant at the Lodge. The food was good and very reasonably priced. Some fellow campers had the seafood buffet on Saturday evening and felt it was overpriced with a limited selection. The showers and bathrooms were clean. The scenery was beautiful and we saw quite a few deer in the campground. We will definitely return. We camped at Joe Wheeler State Park in a Motorhome.

Campground has been nicely renovated. Campsites are spacious and spaced well apart. The staff at the country store was very helpful and suggested several activities we enjoyed during our stay. The scenery was beautiful. The roads are paved and campsites are gravel. Our site was level and it appeared most were. All sites have cable, sewer, picnic tables, fire rings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. We camped at DeSoto Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

This was our first stay at the park and we will definitely return. The sites are very spacious. The bathhouse was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even though there is still work to be done, excellent progress has been made in repairing damage done by the hurricane. We camped at Gulf State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

In & Out RV Park, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here overnight. Several restaurants are in walking distance and Walmart is about 1/2 mile down the street. We were assigned a site where the electrical hookup did not work so we were reassigned. Another camper was already there. We called the office and they gave us another site - another camper was already at that site as well. We finally just found our own site and let them know the number. Office was rather unorganized. There were some run down RV's in the park with grass grown up around them - apparenly long term residents. The bathrooms and laundry room were not clean. The front portion of the park was not very inviting but the back portion where the satellite sites were was neat and well kept. We camped at In & Out RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park, well maintained. Sites are close but not really a problem. Bathroom and showers were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the ducks that strolled through the grounds. Trolley stop is located at the entrance to the campground. We were here for a car show and the staff was very helpful with moving and parking the trailer we used to transport our antique car. We will definitely camp here again. We camped at King's Holly Haven RV Park in a Motorhome.

Noccalula Falls Campground, Gadsden, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Many of the sites were very close. One camper's awning is within inches of the next camper's slide-out. Campground does have a nice atmosphere and we will return. Office staff gave us incorrect information on rates when we made reservations but this was not a major problem. We discovered that other campers had also been given incorrect information. Perhaps the confusion was due to a car show held at the campground while we were there. We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Motorhome.
