Bay Pines RV Home, Morro Bay, California

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. The spaces were close and the Wi-Fi weaker than weak. Would I stay here again. Yes. The bathrooms and showers are old and in need of repair but all in all, it was just fine. I think the staff is very nice and they have coffee and informational brochures for travelers. We camped at Bay Pines RV Home in a Motorhome.

Alamogordo/ White Sands KOA, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 2 nights. The staff is friendly, however this place is run down. We asked for a space with cable TV, you have to pay $2.00 more for that. We hooked up the electric and cable TV and they didn't work correctly. We told the management and move to a different location. We finally did get limited cable and enough amps to use the microwave. I went to use the showers and they are closed from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM. I found that strange because checkout time is at noon. I don't plan on coming back, but it is OK if you have no place else to go! We camped at Alamogordo/ White Sands KOA in a Motorhome.

Lake Cahuilla, La Quinta, California

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a cute little park with large enough sites and a lovely view if you get close to the lake. The down side for us is we don't have satellite TV so we watched a dvd instead. We took advantage of the town and found a few casino's and restaurants that had great prices and a lot of fun! We will definitely be back! The price is right and the staff is very nice! We camped at Lake Cahuilla in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Jennings, Lakeside, California

Date of Stay: January, 2009 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We went back to Lake Jennnings again. The Helix water district is now responsible for the campgrounds. They assumed the campground January 2009. The host's are very friendly and helpful. I like this place because it gives you a camping feeling even close to home. The showers and facilities are clean and well maintained. We visited many San Diego sites that are within a short distance and had a "campfire" evening. It was nice and quiet. We will return! We camped at Lake Jennings in a Travel Trailer.

Picacho Peak State Park, Picacho, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We met family here for a few days of camping before Christmas. We had a great time. The sunsets were beautiful and the weather was chilly but comfortable. The staff is very nice and the showers and restrooms were newly re-done. We will return many times I'm sure. I rated it an 8 because it doesn't have water hook-ups or sewer, but there is a free dump site. We camped at Picacho Peak State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Dogwood Campground, Rimforest, California

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Good place to camp, very friendly staff, great affordable site, clean restrooms and showers. Only one draw back is the noise from highway 18, you can hear it especially in the morning. The high school is also located next to the campground so if they are playing football or if the band is practicing you hear that too. We enjoyed the football and the band! We will be back. The rangers told us that it is especially beautiful in the fall because the dogwood tree's are in bloom. We camped at Dogwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Jennings, Lakeside, California

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good place to camp for a "get away" weekend. The staff is helpful and friendly. We stayed on a hill overlooking the lake. There is no swimming but you can watch the fishing boats and the weather was nice. Down the road is Barona Casino and that was a nice stop for the afternoon. The campsite was quiet and very clean and we will go back again. We camped at Lake Jennings in a Travel Trailer.

O'Neill Regional Park, Trabuco Canyon, California

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We parked next to a restroom that was closed for the season, so they put in a portable toilet. A group of people were next to our site and there were more than 20 people staying there and it was not a group area. The staff is fine and they pick up trash often. The main road is close by so you hear traffic all of the time. I will not be back. We camped at O'Neill Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Escondido RV Resort, Escondido, California

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The park is clean and the staff is nice. Quite expensive for what you get. No room once you put a 19ft trailer in place. There is no room to put up the awning or sit. Mostly kids swim in the pool and it was cloudy. I will not be back. We camped at Escondido RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
