Little Patch of Heaven (formerly Holt's Campground), Bardstown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Opinions are just that. Mine are great of this place. No frills, but when you want to get away, what else do you need? A beautiful lake, clean grounds and gracious host. No amenities other than the fishing lake. If you bring children, bring your own activities. Great location, very close to town and great golf course with in 1/2 mile. You may think this may just be a local stop 'n stay, but if you get to know the host and owner you will be pleasantly surprised. They are very involved with the guest when you want them to be, and leave you alone if you want that too. We camped at Little Patch of Heaven (formerly Holt's Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Beech Bend Family Campground, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Way too many sites. Very narrow pull throughs and sewer overloaded. We were on a low site and our sewer overflowed. One day visit to the water/amusement park, wouldn't stay any longer than that. Park is too expensive, rides are no better than a small county fair. Not worth the price just to ride one nice wooden coaster. Cigarette butts, bottle caps and trash all over the ground. Staff mowed while we were there and unplugged our camper for several hours during the day while we were in the park. Needless to say, it is very hot in July. Don't plan a long vacation here. Pick you site very closely and hope there isn't a rally going on, unless you are there for a rally and you'll be just fine. We camped at Beech Bend Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Loretta Lynn's Family Campground, Hurricane Mills, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pros - very clean campground, bath house next to cafe was super clean and air conditioned. Paved roads/sites available, some gravel. Cons - Arrived late and had no direction on where to go (there are 3 separate camping areas). Pool water was clean but the pool tile was very dirty. Play ground equipment was outdated and in the weeds. Sites (on top of hill) were narrow, no grass, just rock. Cafe/Store closed while we were there mid-week. Although the campground was very empty while we were there, please call ahead. Motocross is held here and was told that the campground can only be reserved through the motocross staff during those times. Would recommend this campground to couples and over nighters only. We camped at Loretta Lynn's Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground is very poorly maintained. Bath/Pool house needs a make over and lots of paint. Roads/Sites need a lot of new gravel. Grass areas need to be mowed and bailed. I can't count the number of chiggers I have. Way not worth the price. We camped in a Fifth Wheel.
