Paradise By The Sea RV Resort, Oceanside, California

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $89.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean, safe park. They have security at night and the owners are always around making sure that rules are followed. It is by far the nicest RV park in the area. Having said that, it is loud. Even though the speed limit on Highway 101 adjacent to the park is 35MPH cars seem to be going much faster. The motorcycles screaming by 24/7 are extremely aggravating. Nothing the owners can do of course about this, however keep this in mind before you book here, as the sites are non-refundable. The train goes by quite often, however they are short trains and are tolerable. Great path to the beach! Be sure to check out Angelo's burgers just South on 101! Also check out Yoshino's in the village of Carlsbad. Get there early as they sell out of the best sushi I've ever had very quickly! We camped at Paradise By The Sea RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Kimball Creek Bend RV Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We've been going to Kimball Creek for years now and it just keeps getting better each and every year! The owner wrote a cookbook that I highly recommend you buy. They are available at the front counter and it is their family collection of recipes that are just great! The owners are highly involved in the operation of the park and it shows. Everything is clean and well cared for. Don't forget to leave with your share of salmon! The owner's son and grandson are both fishing guides and know the Rogue river like the back of their hands! We camped at Kimball Creek Bend RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Osprey Point RV Resort, Lakeside, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We really weren't that excited about this park. Actually had planned to stay 3 nights, but our RV hung out into the street and we really didn't feel safe there. There was a lot of fast traffic around our site with people going to the bar, or the boat ramp. Lots of trashy residents in park, even saw an old dumpy school bus complete with a chimney parked there! There is not much for young people to do, no playground, etc. The pizza joint they advertise on the site is actually a bar, and therefore kids aren't allowed. The game room was constantly locked. We ended up leaving after the first night and were refused a refund even though we gave 24 hours notice. We won't be back. We camped at Osprey Point RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Klamath’s Camper Corral RV Park and Campground, Klamath, California

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed this campground. The customer service was impeccable! They have a group campfire each night complete with smores! The kids loved the playground and the arcade. Each evening a young bear would peek into the fish cleaning station and play with the fish bucket, it was really cool! The owner is REALLY involved in his park and really cares about your experience. The park is impeccably clean! I even saw them wiping down the electric meters at each site! I would highly recommend this gem of of a park! We camped at Klamath’s Camper Corral RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park), Garberville, California

Date of Stay: June, 2006 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Nice surroundings. Close to 101, so a lot of road noise. Sites are ancient, but paved and clean. Very tight for big-rigs! Sewer connections are old and require a 3" connection, an adapter I don't carry in my rig. So I had to go into the office and buy one for no less than $15 bucks! They also dinged us a $2 per pet fee which I feel is ridiculous. So with the pet fee, the overpriced initial rate of $48 per night, and the sewer adapter I'll never use again it costs us $67 for one night in the middle of no where! We camped at Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Turtle Rock RV Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2006 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff. Owner is trying to improve campground but has a long way to go. A word of warning, they don't know how to give refunds evidently and have a strict policy against doing so. Be absolutely sure you want to stay for the entire reservation before you pay! We camped at Turtle Rock RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fleming Meadows Rec Area, La Grange, California

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

For the area you'll find nothing nicer. We camped here in April 2006 for a family fishing trip and had a great time! Staff was friendly, sites are a little tight for big rigs so make sure that you let the staff know during reservation what type of rig you have. Sites were clean and well kept. Would definently stay here again. We camped at Fleming Meadows Rec Area in a Motorhome.

Midway RV Park at Coos Bay, Coos Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful Park in the Coos Bay area. As you drive down the Cape Arago highway you'll see numerous run-down RV parks and wonder if you should just turn around! Midway RV however is a jewel on this highway! All paved sites, all 50 AMP, friendly staff, impecably landscaped! The owner really took pride in this park and it shows! They do have quite a few rules, so if you are the type that don't like rules then find another place to stay. They require jack pads, or wood blocks because of the new asphalt they just invested in, so be prepared to have some on hand, if not they will provide you with some loaners. Overall a beautiful park, and as far as we've seen so far the nicest in the area! We camped at Midway RV Park at Coos Bay in a Motorhome.

Turtle Rock RV Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park! Would have given a "9" if they would invest in some pavement! Because it is on adjacent to the Oregon coast lots of dust in the area. This could be a destination park if the owners would invest more time and money into the park. While visiting we saw several deer throughout the park! Staff was VERY friendly, security was ever present. Overall a great Gold Beach experience! Just wish that the owners would see the potential in this park and invest accordingly! We camped at Turtle Rock RV Resort in a Motorhome.

New Orleans West KOA, River Ridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2005 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Most likely one the nicest parks in New Orleans. A little loud due to the fact that the airport is nearby and we heard loud stereos thumping each evening. It was safe however and the staff was excellent. Pay as you go Wi-Fi is available. Considering the alternatives in New Orleans this is most likely your "best bet". We camped at New Orleans West KOA in a Motorhome.
