Alsatian Resort & Golf Club, Castroville, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very well maintained park. The pads were very level with a nice patio furnished with "real" patio table and 2 chairs. The covered pavilion and pool area had very nice comfy furniture as well. Pool was sparkling and area around it kept very clean. The only reason it gets a 9 is there is no shade. From May through September you have to have some shade in central Texas. The onsite restaurant is very good and reasonable priced too. We camped at Alsatian Resort & Golf Club in a Fifth Wheel.

Sandpiper RV Resort, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice grassy areas between sites. Sites are level. Just behind the park is the beach, its easy walking. I would not get the sites on top next to the road. They are noisy with a lot of traffic. We will visit there again. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Palmetto State Park, Gonzales, Texas

Mostly level site. Even though it rained, we didn't have a lot of mud. Great trails for walking. I love the "prehistoric" feel to this park. We will be back. We camped at Palmetto State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Davis Mountains State Park, Fort Davis, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great park with wonderful views. Full hook-ups including cable in the middle of no where. We enjoyed the wildlife, hiking and scenic drives. Our site was level and from the patio with the table, we couldn't see our neighbors. We will definitely be back. We camped at Davis Mountains State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Chief RV Resort, Burnet, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

It was just OK. The sites are close together, the pool is really small for all the camp sites, there is not any good place to swim in the lake. The pros: the pool is really pretty and the games (horseshoes, volleyball) available. The cons: as states above, plus LOTS of stickers, we were told AFTER we arrived that we should bring our own water because of the taste (which was awful). There are very few sites that have view of the lake. We will not stay here again. We camped at Big Chief RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Airport Park COE, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice park that is recovering from a flood. Most of the park was open when we were there. Our site was groomed when we arrived. We saw the staff clean and groom each site when someone left. Great full hook-ups. Close to town but at a great lake. We will definitely come back. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Saint Andrews State Park, Panama City Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Hook ups are weird as they are in site next to you on the other side of a split rail fence. Our site was about 10 feet from the water. Loved watching the birds and boats. Beach area is great. Roads could use a little work. We will stay there again when in the area. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Gate Campground & RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Most site are in a square around a field. You just drive through the field to your site. The pool was nice and the hop on and off trolley will pick you up from the campground. we thought the roads getting to the historic area were a bit on confusing. Office lady gave us a great parking tip. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this park. Site feel secluded because of foliage between sites. Staff was great. Beautiful setting. Lots of trails, etc. has a game area with corn hole, ladder golf and others. Easy to get to historic district. Stay even allows free entry to the other county parks. We only went to Folly Beach park to play in the Atlantic. We want to return. We camped at James Island County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stone Mountain Park Campground, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Park has lovely views. Good full hookups. Interior roads are a bit rough. Some sites are very unlevel, but staff will help you get a good site when you make reservations. Our site was level and easy to back into, but had a huge drop off on the back and utility side because it overlooked the lake. Wild life is everywhere. A shuttle runs from the campground to the main activity area, if you don't want to drive. Great hiking trails too. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Koestler RV Park, Bay Minette, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very odd park. No facilities but does offer full hook ups and cable. It is halfway between Bay Minette and Stapleton. You have to go to an office in Bay Minette to pay. All utilities work well. Big oak trees offer some good shade. We camped at Koestler RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park, Kinder, Louisiana

We always make this an overnight stop when we head east. The park is clean and the staff is very friendly. Sites are level and all utilities always work well. We like a spot in the middle which is away from the lights of the tennis courts and not as traveled. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Colorado River Thousand Trails, Columbus, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Gravel roads in poor condition, sites are gravel. The grass was really high when we were there and there were ant mounds everywhere. (they did invade our trailer) The staff was nice. They park looks like it is having some renovations in the works. It could be a great park when (if) those are done. It was very quiet and dark at night. They river was really low and not flowing in areas. (yuck) Overall... an OK park. We camped at Colorado River Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Capital City RV Park, Montgomery, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean and friendly park. There are long term campers there, but it is hard to tell which ones they are. The location is easy for getting around the area. There was road noise but that eased up during the night. (seemed to be mostly commuter traffic) We will stay there again. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
