We are Escapees so perhaps a bit prejudiced. But we love North Ranch. Non-Escapee members may stay at higher rate. Beautiful mountain views and great location for day trips to Prescott, Phoenix area, Sedona, Jerome, Flagstaff, Verde Valley, Payson, etc. Temperatures run 10-15 degrees below Phoenix during the day and about 5 degrees below at night. Shade trees along the west allow the RV to stay cooler in the afternoon and evening. A/c's actually cycle during the day in summertime. We have looked for parks farther north but none are as well suited for motorhomes with slides. Gravel is well maintained so even during monsoon rains there is no mud, a few puddles for a time. Birds abound as do lizards, great fun to watch.

Park is about 20 miles north of Topeka on US-75. It is a pleasant location behind the PBP Casino. Streets are asphalt, although rather narrow. Sites are three lengths, longest being 100'. The longer, the wider. On the 100' site you can walk on concrete past a double slide (one on each side). Grassy area is not well maintained so being able to walk on concrete is a plus. There is a small concrete patio with picnic table. Casino shuttles continually patrol the park and will take you from site to casino as well as provide very limited security. Coupons available in brochure and on-line for restaurant and gaming. Buffet is really good and a great bargain, with coupon, for lunch. The steak house is really good, but pricy. The management allows migrant workers, construction workers, and overnight vendors so at times the facilities aren't as neat and RV resort style as we would like. They accept Escapees and Camp Club USA with no limit. No extra charge for electricity. Lots of wildlife as there are several ponds and trees. A pleasant location although shopping and dining are a drive. Holton is only 8 miles north, but shopping and dining are limited. Still a good choice if you are in the area.

Brand new park in Topeka. Near Lake Shawnee, on 21st Street between Wittenburg Road and Carnahan Road (take Carnahan exit from I-70 east). Long (100') wide concrete sites with very large concrete patios. Sodded grass between sites, park is surrounded on three sides by trees. Wide concrete streets. Good Sam park, weekly rate (pay for 6 get 7th free) and monthly rate ($400 + elecricity at actual cost rate). Topeka has never had a good RV park that wasn't a transient or parking area, now they do. We are full timers for 5 years from Topeka and have hated time spent in Topeka parks. We usually stayed at casino park in Mayetta to have a decent place to stay for several months. No more. We love Deer Creek Valley. Owner is great in the office and she lives on site. The park will soon be gated, but there is on-site security at night (probably because of office building construction but they patrol and limit access to the RV park). We are so pleased to have this full-service park in the capitol city.
