Meaher State Park, Spanish Fort, Alabama

Date of Stay: December, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent SP. Sites available on water front. The sign at our site, #21, warned not to "harass or feed their alligators". They need not worry. Close and convenient access to Mobile and some very good Cajun food places. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bayou Segnette State Park, Westwego, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here. The first was last Nov, 2009. It is clean, well patrolled by the rangers. It is approx 20 min's to New Orleans and you can park on the west bank and take the Algiers Ferry right to Canal St. We always seem to have good neighbors while there. The only down side this trip is the construction with the accompanying noise and dirt (raising the levies). We're city folk so the noise wasn't too bothersome. There is a large wave pool on the premises, (seasonal) and picnic areas abound. One of the best deals in the area. We camped at Bayou Segnette State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ransom Road RV Park, Aransas Pass, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This has to be one of the cleanest CG's we've been in. The owner/managers work hard to keep it that way. They have and will go out of their way to accommodate their guests. I hardily endorse this CG to anyone planning to visit this area. We camped at Ransom Road RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large campground. They have security and assistants to move you through quickly. There is just about everything you would need, restaurant, laundry, store, community center, indoor pool etc. Our site was right at the beach. Downside is that site Wifi was available for a fee of $10 per day. That was rather dear for our taste. There was a spot where you could sit outside of a building and get it free. We camped at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Clearwater, Elizabethtown, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We won a two night stay at an RV show. The CG was nice with a view of the lake. The spot we were originally assigned had loose sand and my TV didn't like it. Being as though it is early in the season and a week day, there was no problem relocating to another site. The down side is that there is no cable hookup or wifi. There is a tremendous presence of permanent residents. The older section reminded us of rowhouses, they were so close together. We had one station which was UNC public. It rained both the days we were there. I know more than I wanted to about about Curious George and the Muppets now. Overall I would recommend this CG for those looking for water views and family atmosphere. We camped at Camp Clearwater in a Fifth Wheel.

Jolly Roger Travel Park, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground in the middle Keys. We stayed there just before the "prime season". The cost was $20 per night with 50% off PA rate. This could not be beat for the area. The cost does go up in December. Mgmt was both friendly and helpful. We are making arrangements to go there again next year. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at the Bullocksville CG. It was clean and quiet. There was an excellent view of Kerr Lake. The staff was attentive and courteous. All in all we enjoyed the weekend stay there. The cost for the water/electric sites were $20 but we got the senior's rate of $14 per night. We camped at Kerr Lake State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Korte's Checkers Welcome Campground, Welcome, Minnesota

Used CG as overnight stop. Large sites with full hookups. Was PA participating CG. Hence the low price. Management was friendly. They don't take credit cards but you can't beat the price. We camped at Korte's Checkers Welcome Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Three Flags RV Park, Black Hawk, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

The downside is that there is a tremendous amount of road construction going on in the area. You have to go through it to enter and leave. The upside is that it is a nice place to stay. Management is friendly and helpful. It is centrally located between Wyoming, (Devil's Tower) and the SD tourist areas. None are much more than an hour or so away. Very clean laundry room. We camped at Three Flags RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Alum Creek State Park, Delaware, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Plenty of shaded areas. Sites are spread apart enough to give you more enough space from neighbors. Park is large to get lost without campground maps. Pet areas are set apart from non-pet sections. Large lake area with swimming and boating. Park was clean with plenty of trash receptacles. We camped at Alum Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
