Pine Ridge Campground, Roebuck, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a quirky campground, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The layout is full of twists and turns and the entrance is also steep and twisting, with rough road, but we took it slow and had no trouble at all. The new campground owners are very warm and outgoing. The owner helpfully guided us to our campsite and made sure later that everything was OK. Lots of monthly residents, but all was quiet and tidy. Lots of energy and good vibes going into the campground. We will happily return next time we're in the area (near Gaffney). We camped at Pine Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Mistletoe State Park, Appling, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay at Mistletoe. Roomy campsites, many on the lake. Ours is a pull through not on the waterfront - maybe 30 yards from the water. Not as much hiking as I had hoped; really just the Rock Dam trail which was a pleasant walk in the woods. We camped at Mistletoe State Park in a Motorhome.

New Bern KOA, New Bern, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice campground. Pool and playground for kids, a nice fishing pier on the Neuse River. Restrooms and showers were very well kept. There was light rain much of the time we were there, but the sandy soil drained well. It's pricier than we are accustomed to paying, but very nice facilities and helpful, pleasant staff. We camped at New Bern KOA in a Motorhome.

Cedar Creek COE, Mt Juliet, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent campground! Most campsites are very spacious. Bathhouses are aging and need ventilation, but clean and well kept. Adjacent to nice COE boat launch, beach and picnic area (no extra charge for campers). If there had been hiking trails and wifi, it would have been perfect. Well, that plus 20F cooler and 25% lower relative humidity. :-) But hey, it's August in the South. Go far a swim! We camped at Cedar Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Capital City RV Park, Montgomery, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The RV park manager was a long time landscape contractor, and it shows in the layout of the park. Each site has a patio, a patch of grass, a crepe myrtle and a couple of shrubs partially screening the neighbor's utility connections. Level, easy to use pull through sites. Bathhouse has 4 separate, full bathrooms, each with sink, commode and shower, plenty of space and a locking door. The whole park is very well kept. The large, fenced dog run is a very nice and unusual amenity. WiFi was great. Management was very helpful, even loaned us a pressure reducer (their water pressure was 110 psi). Most of the sites do not have shade, which would have been nice in August. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in the Montgomery area. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ivy Acres Lodge and RV Park, Piedmont, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very quiet and secluded location, one mile off I-85. Walk to Saluda River. Seems oriented toward longer term campers. "The park is for self-contained RV units only. No bath / shower facilities are available." Pleasant and helpful on site manager. Gravel sites, fairly level, with table and hookups. Well maintained. We camped at Ivy Acres Lodge and RV Park in a Motorhome.
