Buck Creek Campground (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Reasonable rate and very friendly staff. Office has all the key things you may need. Wi-Fi worked well during our stay. Sites put campers right next to each other but not on top of each other. We've had much worse at KOAs. All back-in sites are nicely shaded on the creek. Was busy on the weekend but less so during the week. Had several quiet evenings with a nice campfire. Site was newly graveled and pretty level as well. Huge grassy area for kids who need space, so great for families who need a place for kids to play without disturbing the neighbors. Not a ton of restaurants other than fast food in the area, so we recommend stocking up at the local grocery stores and making your own meals at this location. Had a very enjoyable stay and will be back when in the area. We camped at Buck Creek Campground (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang in a Motorhome.

Riverview RV Park & Storage, Forks, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Definitely a no frills park but we had a nice stay using this park as a base for exploring Forks, La Push, the beaches and the national park. We had a pull through site in a large gravel filled area. Sites are nicely spaced, new and clean but there are no trees or amenities. Very quiet and the folks in the office were wonderful. WiFi signal needs improvement though. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Storage in a Motorhome.

Portland Fairview RV Park, Fairview, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park has many longer term residents but not the typical type. It is clean, quiet and a great environment. It's convenient for exploring the entire area, from downtown Portland to the Gorge area to Mt Hood. Highly recommend it. There is some noise from airplanes and occasional trains but we hear that near most metro areas we visit. We sat outside every night. One thing we appreciated was finally seeing a park with recycling bins too. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Grocery stores are very close and a gas station/convenience store down the road was great.

Circle 10 Campground, Philip, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Looks like this is an older park on the upswing. Lots of new paint and very clean. Couple in charge said they have been here since December 2004 and are excellent hosts. The small cafe here is a hidden gem and is worth a stop by itself, even if you aren't staying the night. The food & service was outstanding. Good launching point for exploring the Badlands area and closer to the highway than other area parks. Definitely an older park but a good, basic park that's affordable. We camped at Circle 10 Campground in a Motorhome.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2005 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We almost didn't stay at this park because of some negative ratings previously listed. This park is very nice, has gravel sites that aren't too close to neighbors. Beautiful views, easy access to roads around Santa Fe. Water hookup heater was great in winter conditions. Friendly staff & very clean facilities. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Motorhome.
