Tuckasegee RV Resort, Whittier, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times - especially during football season as our grandson plays for WCU. We find the staff to be some of the most accommodating and friendly staff that we have encounter in 16 years of camping . WSE and cable all worked fine but the wifi was spotty (especially on the weekend when lots of people were at the CG. Only used the bathroom one time but it was spotless. There are only 2 negatives to the campground - there is no AT&T cell service (you can go 1 mile east or west and have service. There is also quite a bit of road noise and traffic can make it difficult to get onto the highway - especially if you are pulling a trailer behind you. We camped at Tuckasegee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Buck Creek RV Park (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground!! We opted for the pull thru site since it was in the open and had sunshine but if we come back, will have a back-in site on the creek. Staff very friendly and helpful. All utilities were good. Very peaceful setting and close to Blue Ridge Pkwy although the road to the pkwy was difficult to maneuver. We camped at Buck Creek RV Park (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang in a Fifth Wheel.

Walnut Meadow RV Park, Berea, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Rate quoted was Passport America - and I think that if you use PA, they put you in a less than desirable spot (in our case it was a pull thru that had no yard and was muddy). We had no sewer but that was ok since it was just a 1 night stay on our way thru the area. Staff was friendly but we only saw them at check-in. Water and electric were ok. We camped at Walnut Meadow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverpark Campground, Jonesborough, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Right on the Nolichucky river. The road inside the park need to be graded and repaired - it was obvious that the lower part of the campground had been flooded but we had no problem even though it rained while we were there. It was very tight to get our 40 ft 5th wheel into and out of the pull thru campsite but we were able to do so. Water pressure was not great but was acceptable. Electric and sewer were fine. If we are ever back in this area, will consider staying here again. We camped at Riverpark Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cliffside County Park, Racine, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park but no sewers. Sites are all back-in but are fairly level and large with lots of shade. It is near Lake Michigan but you cannot see it from the campground. Reservations must be made either on-line or via phone and there is a $12 registration fee. We did not see any hosts or attendants but did see maintenance workers. We camped at Cliffside County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hitchin Post Corral and Campground, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Great little park just starting up. roads are dirt/sand but easy to get around. Owners met us and escorted us to our site. We had a problem with the door lock on our 5er but owner had an extra lock and sold to us at low rate. Close to I-10 but noise was not too bad. We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

River Town Campground, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a rally. Had a great time in the area - especially visiting the Civil War NP and the downtown river area. If you stay here, you have to eat at the Tomato Place (very eclectic) and also Solly's Hot Tamales. Very little interaction with staff but they were nice. Sites are gravel but mostly level with very little shade. We camped at River Town Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites small but easy to get into. We only stayed one night but would stay again on our way thru the area. Lots of activity in the Agricenter - wish that we had time to check it out. Lots of shopping and restaurants close by. We camped at Agricenter International RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elkhart County Fairgrounds, Goshen, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for the FROG rally (800 units this year). Enjoyed the campground and all of the people attending the rally. Lots to do in the area. We stayed in the infield so it was a bit crowded but they are all friends. Office staff was friendly and the fairgrounds was very clean and neat. We camped at Elkhart County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Winton Woods Campground, Cincinnati, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here when visiting our daughter in Cincy. Nice park and if you are lucky enough to get a lake view site, a great park. Electric, water and wifi are good. Sites are level and include table and fire ring. The only problem is that you must pay either a $3 per day park admission or a $10 per year pass. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cottonwoods RV Park, Columbia, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

About 3 miles off of I-70 but MO63 was pretty busy. Narrow roads getting to our site and had to watch trees very carefully turning into site. Electricity was marginal and we could not run 2nd AC without voltage dropping under 110V. Water pressure was also marginal at 35 psi and wifi was impossible to use even though it said I was connected. Sites were very narrow - barely had enough room to put out slides and awning. thankfully, we only stayed here 1 night and will not return. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gunsmoke RV Park, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights to visit Dodge City and Marshal Dillon (disappointed). Site was level and gravel. Electric, water, and wifi ok but it was very hot - especially coming from mountains of CO. Park definitely needs some TLC but heard that owner recently lost her husband. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Dodge city too comercialized. We had hoped that they would have saved their the heritage but city has grown up too much and the old west is confined to the "Boot Hill Museum" - read that as tourist trap.

Echo Basin Ranch, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in 2012 and loved the park. It has not changed much but I understand that there have been some problems. It is about 4 miles off the main highway and 6 miles from Mancos but that suits us just fine. Nice and peaceful with lots of cows and horses nearby and some wildlife. Electricity, water, and wifi OK. Our site was level and gravel but some sites not as good. We had a campfire the first night but then it was "red flag" and no fires allowed. We camped at Echo Basin Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.
