Discovery Pointe RV, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We had trouble even pulling in due to the ATVs everywhere. The people in the site next to ours had taken over our site when we arrived. They moved their things some, but continued overflowing into our site. They came over and looked in at us while we were eating. Then, they asked if we knew it was a biker campground! They have wide sites, but unless you're here with an ATV or dirt bike, go somewhere else! We camped at Discovery Pointe RV in a Fifth Wheel.

River Terrace Park, Monticello, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice park, but a bizarre experience. To find the campground office, you had to drive through a mobile home park. When we found the office, no one was there. I called the phone number and talked to a very nice man who told me to pick any open site as they all have full hook-ups. There were no registration forms available to pay for the site, so we had to find an envelope and hope we got the price right. The sites were level pads. The campground appeared very well kept with a nice view of the Mississippi river. The pool was not open. We camped at River Terrace Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Munising Tourist Park Campground, Munising, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Our site backed up right to the beach. The view of Lake Superior was incredible. The sites were wide. The bathroom closest to our site was clean, but showing its age. The other bathroom, located across the campground, was new. Pictures Rocks was also beautiful. The water reminded me of the Caribbean without the heat. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this park. We camped here over the July 4th weekend and could watch the fireworks from the campground beach. The views and location were terrific. Sites were narrow, but the view made up for it. Our only complaint would be that there was only 1 bathhouse for such a large campground. Staff were friendly and helpful. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground), Ogallala, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in late due to severe weather in the area. Our site was a level gravel pull-through. Bathrooms were clean. Our site was on the end closest to interstate, so we had a lot of road noise. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

St. Mary / East Glacier KOA, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $50.00

Very nice park with great views. Bathrooms and laundry were clean. Camp store even had espresso and ice cream. Sites were not very level. Only complaint would be when I asked about area churches, no one could tell me where we could find one. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Only campground in Yellowstone with hook-ups. Sites are narrow, but not bad. They let us request 2 sites side by side. Make sure you get reservations early. Great central location. We camped at Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

It is very convenient to highway. The site was good sized and level. Bathrooms were always clean. Just a few minutes to Starved Rock State Park as well as area towns. This was our second time staying at this campground and we plan on staying here again next year. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Drummer Boy Camping Resort, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Most expensive campground we have ever stayed at, but not any better than the others. Did not honor Good Sam discount on the weekend. Also, charged another $10 for early check-in ($70 total). This was the first time we have ever been charged for arriving a little early! Campground and sites were beautiful, but way overpriced. Advertised WiFi and water slide, but both cost extra. You would have thought for that price, these would have been included. Office staff were not friendly, but camp hosts were very nice. We would not stay here again. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Prince William Forest RV Campground, Dumfries, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We really liked this campground. Great location to Washington, DC and Fredericksburg sites. Staff were friendly. Pool was small, but nice. Bathrooms were always clean. They were in the process of adding WiFi. The only drawback was that many of the sites are very sloped. We stayed in site E-3 which was so slanted, we could not get completely leveled front to back. It looked like sites 6 through 8 would have been much better. We would stay here again, but would ask for a site near the middle of the row. We camped at Prince William Forest RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice campground and sites. Staff were very friendly. Bathroom was big and clean. We enjoyed the pool, which was also big and clean. If they had sewer hookups, we would stay for a longer amount of time. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed at. The staff were very friendly and even helped us pick a good restaurant for dinner. The bathrooms were large, spotless and nicer looking than most home bathrooms. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
