Three Flags RV Park, Black Hawk, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here a few times over the past 10 years and every year the water pressure gets worse. We had to turn on our water pump this year every time we took a shower to get enough pressure. The laundry is $2.25 to wash and $2.25 to dry and is fine if you want to pay $9 for two loads of laundry. The nice lady that owns and runs the place by herself seems to be in way over her head. We will probably look for someplace else if we come to this area again. We camped at Three Flags RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park at the River, Joseph, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is like "The good, the bad, and the ugly". The good is the new owners and their staff are great people and very helpful. The bad is that it is a family oriented park and the families and kids all run roughshod throughout the whole park to the extent that they run over and around and through everyone's site with little supervision from their parents! There are so many dogs that they wake you up starting at about 6am in the morning every day. Most parks have very stringent dog barking rules but this park hasn't gotten there yet. The ugly is that in the last few years the smoke from the forest fires, mostly in August and September, has made it very difficult to go hiking because of the very bad particles that are in the smoke you are breathing! We like it here but timing is very important for when you visit. The other ugly is that pads are allowed on the grass which created huge muddy bare spots when it rains. Most parks do not allow pads to be used on the grass any more for exactly that reason, it destroys the grass and creates a mud hole. We camped at Park at the River in a Motorhome.

Trout Creek Motel and RV Park, Trout Creek, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here almost every year. Reservations are now suggested as their are more and more rvers out there now than ever before. The owners take great care of the sites and make sure the limit of 2 dogs is adhered to and are always on a leash and cleaned up after. Violators are asked to leave the park. And of course, dog owners will always try to circumvent the dog rules. The park is always quiet at night and usually during the day also. One of the best parks we stay at in our years of full timing. There is a washer and dryer there also for $1.25. We camped at Trout Creek Motel and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Netarts Bay Garden RV Resort, Tillamook, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Park is quiet except for the dogs across the street that wake you up in the morning and keep you alert all day long. Mostly fishermen and crabbers stay here but it is right on Netarts Bay. The restaurant up the road is OK but nothing special, but it is within walking distance for older folks. There is a laundry with a sign up sheet and a do not wash dog stuff also. The park is very adamant about their dog rules which is very nice. We would stay here again if in the area but get a site away from the constantly barking dogs across the street. We camped at Netarts Bay Garden RV Resort in a Motorhome.

SKP Pair-A-Dice -Escapees Park (members only), Pahrump, Nevada

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Escapee parks are usually always nice parks to stay at. The laundry room is nice with $1 wash and $1 for 45 minutes to dry and it is not always busy. The people are about the same as people anyplace in the USA, there is the good, there is the bad and there is the ugly even in people that live in any RV park. The park is usually quiet most of the time and the 5MPH speed limit is observed by some of the drivers. This park, as well as most Escapees parks, has mostly full time residents, many being pretty old. The 4x4ing and hiking around the mountains is what draws us to this area for a few weeks a year. We camped at SKP Pair-A-Dice -Escapees Park (members only) in a Motorhome.

Country Corners RV Park and Campground , Caldwell, Idaho

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

I usually rate RV parks by "The Good the Bad and the Ugly" rule as they all usually have some of each. "The Good" here is that the owners are fairly new and easy to deal with and they do take some pride in their ownership but still have a difficult time controlling the, let's call them undesirables, in the park, unless maybe they really don't want to. The Wi-Fi is ok sometimes and slow sometimes. Another "Good" is that there are no fires allowed on the sites but there is a fire pit available which can still be a problem for some depending on wind direction and whether you enjoy keeping your windows open or not. "The Bad" is that probably 90 percent of the residents are long term residents with some undesirables mixed in. It seems that very few pay attention to the 5MPH speed limit in the park so the gravel noise, even during the late hours at night and the gravel dust from driving too fast is much more apparent than it has been in the past and causes breathing problems. There are actually only maybe 7 sites available for the real RV travelers. The owners have actually park overnighters in the streets between the rows of RVs when sites are no longer available, which I have never seen before in any park and may actually be illegal because of emergency vehicle access if needed. The other "Bad" is the dog off-leash and barking and fighting and cleanup that all RV parks have to deal with on a constant basis. There are often cows across the street that you can smell at times and of course the flies come along with them. "The Ugly" here is that the chairs by the office door on the little front porch is where some people hang out to smoke their cigs etc. So if second hand smoke bothers you then this can be a real problem when going to the office for a newspaper or something else or even to the laundry. Another "Ugly" are the large dogs including pit bulls that run "off leash" in the park with no one saying anything to the owners. New park up the road next year. We camped at Country Corners RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tillamook RV Park, Tillamook, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a few days in August and were not very happy with everything in the park. The biggest problem is many people not keeping their dog(s) on a leash or cleaning up the dog droppings. This is really an epidemic problem in most RV parks and regular parks anymore. The owner here lets his own dog run all over the park so I would guess that most people who stay in the park especially the permanent residents pay little attention to the leash rule that the park has. The other issue is the closeness of the highway and the difficulty of getting out on route 101 when the traffic is very heavy as it often is here. The last issue is that kids and adults will run between the rigs instead of walking around on the park roads which is shocking when you look out your window and there is someone standing right next to your rig or walking right by your windows. We probably will not stay here again. We camped at Tillamook RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wallicut River RV & Campground Resort (formerly Ilwaco / Long Beach KO, Ilwaco, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Wallicut River R.V. Resort used to be a KOA RV park that we had never stayed at before but we were looking for a new RV park in this area as we have been very unhappy with previous parks in the area because of major dog problems in some we have stayed in. Here, there were actually two dogs in the office so we did business through the door crack. My wife is extremely allergic to dogs and other animals so I did not want to track any dog stuff back to our rig. The grass pull-through we got and were told was flat was so bad with dips and groves that I had to pull my motorhome back onto the gravel road to unhook my towed vehicle. The big problem was that they want $50 a night for no WiFi, no cable, and a not so flat grass only parking space. The electric box cover at our site fell off when I tried to open it and there are no circuit breakers at all in the electric box. The park I had left just an hour earlier with no WiFi and no cable but with a flat graveled surface and circuit breakers in the electric box was just $15 a night. Much closer to what is a normal price for no amenities. We would never go back here. We camped at Wallicut River RV & Campground Resort (formerly Ilwaco / Long Beach KO in a Motorhome.

Three Flags RV Park, Black Hawk, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here any time we are in the area which is usually every year. The highway and the railroad are close but never seems to affect our sleep at night. The biggest problem here is the water pressure fluctuates greatly and your shower can almost shut off at the most inopportune time! It has been like that for years with little explanation as to why. We camped at Three Flags RV Park in a Motorhome.

Red Trail Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed a few days in a pull thru site. The sites were pretty close together. There were some permanent residents in the park and actually some stick homes in and around the park also. We had people walking through our site every day! The WI-FI was basically nonexistent where we were located, even though we were informed that there was Wi-Fi all over the park. We could never get on the internet at all. We camped at Red Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for one night during our travel to the Winnebago factory. Sites are very close together and it is a little confusing on how to get into the park. The best way is to go in behind the gas station. We had no issues while there and would stay again if in the area. We camped at Little Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

Sands of Time Campground, Avon, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here a few times because of the location in Avon and it is usually quiet. This year there was a wolf type dog that howled all the time and woke us up almost every day. There are also lots of cats that hang around all the time, probably because people feed them. Some of the dog owners never clean up after their dogs so you have to watch where you step. The laundry room and it washers and dryers are very questionable at best. We camped at Sands of Time Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp Perry Lodging & Conference Center, Port Clinton, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here early May and this was our first visit to this park. During the week we spent here there was only one other RV in the park, which is just fine with us. No dogs are allowed in all of the Camp Perry facility except just in the RV park, which was just fine with us as we get tired of all the barking dogs and dog doodoo in most parks anymore. The showers and restrooms were immaculate, maybe because no one was using them but very nice anyway. The grounds were kept very nice also. Wi-Fi in the Conference center was very good. We would stay again. We camped at Camp Perry Lodging & Conference Center in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here probably 8 times in the 6 years we have been full timers in our RV. We like it here as it is usually quiet and most "SKPs" are friendly and will help you out if they can. We like this area for the hiking and 4x4ing that is awesome in the Toiyabe National Forest area. We usually stop here in the spring and again in the fall of most years. The facilities are kept very clean and only the water pressure seems to be low at times. We camped at SKP Pair-A-Dice -Escapees Park (members only) in a Motorhome.

Point Hudson Resort & Marina, Port Townsend, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We have been coming to this area for 7 years now and this is our first time at this park. Very difficult to get in and out of most sites unless you are a truck driver. No matter how good or bad the park is it always fills up in the summer and during special weekends in Port Townsend. If you have a "big rig" then you should unhook your toad before you get here as the space is extremely limited in the park. They have a leash law in the whole town but, as usual, many people do not abide by it and basically ignore people who say something to them. We will not stay here again but will be back in this area every year for the Olympic National Park where we love to hike. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.
