One of our favorite Illinois State Parks. Friendly staff, clean and well maintained campgrounds, and plenty of hiking and exploring. We camped at Starved Rock State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Albert Lea / Austin KOA, Ada, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We really do not expect much for our one night stops along the highway. However, this park had especially tight sites with a number of ruts, etc. Normally do not even use the restrooms and showers, but did in this case and found them to be less than clean. However, for an overnight along the highway it met our needs. We camped at Albert Lea / Austin KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Mitchell KOA, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We find KOAs to be good for one night stops along the road. As most of them this one was close to the highway, staff was friendly and it appeared well maintained, although we did not use any of the facilities. As is also the norm, spaces were tight. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Lebanon Hills Regional Park Campground, Apple Valley, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

A great park for visiting the Minneapolis/St Paul Area. Some sites are a little tight but most have plenty of space. It is a small quiet campground which is very well maintained by a friendly helpful staff. We will definitely be using this park again as we travel to the area quite often to visit family. We camped at Lebanon Hills Regional Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA, Gretna, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We used this for an over night as we traveled from Denver to the Midwest. As we generally find for over nights on the road; near the hi-way is most important. Like most KOA's the spaces are tight but the park was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, we would only stop here again if we were in need of an overnight stop. We camped at West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Cherry Creek State Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We generally stay at Cherry Creek whenever we visit the Denver area. It is a wonderful state park given the urban location. Lots of space (sites and the overall park) and extremely well maintained. Years ago we stayed at different private RV parks in the area and there is simply no comparison for our needs and preferences. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Richmond KOA, Richmond, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night on our way home from the east coast. The park was clean and staff was helpful. We did not use any of the facilities, sine we were in late and out early. However, it looked well maintained and we would stay here again if we needed a single night or if had reason to be in the area for a few days. We camped at Richmond KOA in a Motorhome.

Washington DC / Capitol KOA, Millersville, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here previously while visiting the DC area. This trip we spent 4 nights at the park. Each time we find more improvements. The grounds are very well maintained and the staff is as good as you will find. Most sites are very roomy and the pull through site we had this trip was extra large. We will return here when we are visiting the area again as it is not only well located, it is one of the best large city RV parks we have ever found. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Travel Trailer.

North Beach Campground, Burlington, Vermont

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 7 nights here while visiting the Burlington area. The campground has the benefit of a great location and is generally well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We did not have a full hook up site, so used the showers Unfortunately, due to the heavy use and age, the shower house was less than clean and could certainly use some updating. Our bigger concern though was the amount of noise (several nights we were kept awake by noisy campers/party's well past mid night). The space was also a big problem for us. In 7 nights there was never a time we could have used our fire pit because other units were too close. Further, the park did not seem to enforce it's one vehicle per site rule. More than once we had to park away from our site because of other cars. Because of these issues we will probably only return here if we are able to reserve a full hook-up site. They have a little more space and are away from the noisy sections of the campground. We camped at North Beach Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Erie KOA, Mckean, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night on our way to Vermont. We found it to be a very nice KOA with a helpful staff and clean well maintained grounds. While we probably would stay for an extended period, we would certainly make it a one night stop if passing through the area. We camped at Erie KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Washington DC / Capitol KOA, Millersville, Maryland

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week while visiting the area. Normally we do not stay at KOA other than overnights. However, we were very pleased with this park. Great staff, well maintained and super location for visiting DC, Baltimore and Annapolis. Our site was a little close to other units but more than acceptable. The price is a more than we are used to, but after checking other options it seems to be what you have to pay in the area. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Grandpa's Farm Campground, Richmond, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped for one night while returning home from the east. Park was very clean and well maintained. There is no store to speak of and we did not use any of the other facilities. We were disappointed with the Wi-Fi as it was less than reliable. About half the park appears to be permanent units, but they all looked clean and and well kept. Our site was easy to access and very level. We will use this park again if traveling through or even if we were staying in the area for few days. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA, Washington, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for an overnight. The park looks to be well maintained although we did not use any of the facilities. That being said there were a number of small things that soured our opinion of the park. First the sites were small and not level. The park is on a hill and everything is at a slope. We could not fully extend our entry stairs and because of the narrow site were not able to get the trailer level. The hook ups were poorly laid out. Electric and sewer on one side and water on the other. I had 50 ft of electric cord so could make that connection, but only had one section of hose so had to really play around with positioning to make it reach. Finally, the park is very close to the highway (although you have to travel some narrow back roads to get there). As a result the road noise was very loud all night. We will look for another option when in the area again. We camped at Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Vacation Station RV Resort, Ludington, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a week while visiting the Ludington area. Great location and despite being "in town" the park was not noisy even with the holiday weekend. The sites were pretty well spaced and fairly level. We made a late reservation so had a limited selection of sites but still found one that worked well. Great staff and very well maintained park. Will definitely stay here again when in the area. We camped at Vacation Station RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
