Closest park to town, the Kal-Haven trail is accessible from the rear of the park. We were able to walk to downtown from our campsite. They could do better at cleaning the fire pits from the previous guests but the park is fairly clean overall. Also pretty quiet here. We had no issues parking our 37' motorhome here.

If you are expecting a resort you will be unhappy. This is a nice State Park in the woods with decent privacy between sites. There are lots of outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, and canoeing. There is also a nice swimming beach. There are mosquitos but if you use bug spray or a Thermacell bug repelling lantern they will leave you alone. I did not experience any problems navigating our 30' class C anywhere in the park and saw several large Class A rigs there also.

Park has very narrow, grass sites. The connections require one unit to pull in and the neighbor to back in, this combined with the narrow issue has you door-to-door, right on top of your neighbor.

We were in the Campground section: not the resort. The campground is basically a large dirt parking lot with no shade and not a very pleasant place to spend any time outside your RV. They want your dog to use only the designated dog area to do his business which was a long walk away. We left earlier than planned to move on to a better campground.

Don't let the river in the back of the property fool you, this is the worst RV Park I have ever camped in! I echo all the previous bad comments and add: many off leash unattended dogs running loose. We told the management, and their response was "well that happens." The road noise from the highway is terrible also. The trailer park getto is still here and as scary as ever. Don't make the same mistake we did: stay away!

Wonderful place to camp. Our site had a covered picnic table area, fire ring and grill. There are several hiking and biking trails in the park. If you don't like being remote or possibly being the only people around in a very quiet area, you probably won't care for this place. There are only vault toilets (clean) and no showers. There is water available but not at the sites. Our site had million dollar views for $7.00 a night.

All the other bad reviews pretty much sum things up. We just did a stop and sleep on the way home.

Very tight and crowded, not my idea of camping. Convenient to town. If you have a dog beware - Moab is the most dog unfriendly town I have ever visited.

Date of Stay:

Old park with dirty, run down seasonal trailers. We had a reservation made months in advance and were given a site that we could not even extend our awning at. The bathrooms were a mess and the seasonal unit next door had trash and old food containers laying around every where!

I gave this park a higher rating than it probably deserves because the people that are working there and camping there are so nice! I would stay here again. Now for the bad: - One old, run down commercial trailer type bathroom for the whole campground. - Very buggy when we were there.

It worked well as an overnight stop, easy on and off the highway. The only warning would be to stay away from the side of the park near the overnight semi parking (next door) if you are sensitive to noise since some truck drivers let their rigs idle all night.

Had reservations for water/electric site, could not get level - looked for another, nothing available that was anything resembling level. Had to upgrade to full hook up site at a substantial price increase to get level. Also they advertise cable TV in Trailer Life guide and on their road side sign - this is only available at full hook up sites. Road noise is an issue. I actually would stay here again because we scouted the other Santa Fe campgrounds and they all left much to be desired!

We stayed here for the convenience of walking to town. It also was surprisingly quiet here. Otherwise this is just a handful of sites behind a run-down motel/spa. The owner was actually staying in a 5th wheel on the end and had 2 aggressive dogs running loose that almost bit my wife. There was also dog waste everywhere near his site. I guess the rules don't apply to him?

Crowded sites with no privacy - road noise. Expensive for what you get. Convenient to Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. Heard some grumbling from other campers about a change in ownership and decline in service?

Date of Stay:

It made for a nice overnight stop and has easy exit from the highway. It is far enough down the road to be away from the freeway noise. You feel like you are in the country.
