Middlefork RV Park, Fairplay, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

These folks are doing it right. I got a call a week before arriving and there was a mixup with my reservation. I wasn't sure what I would get when I arrived, but they made everything right and we had a wonderful stay. There were some changes in management since I made my reservation 2 months prior. The staff is very friendly and my kids loved the gold panning. The only place in the area worth staying at! Entry and exit is a bit of a challenge in a large rig as you must navigate through a tight grocery store parking lot to the traffic signal on highway 285. They have done a lot to make the side of a river bed look nice with some freshly planted trees and native flowers. We camped at Middlefork RV Park in a Motorhome.

Buffalo Run Campground, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful little park and the grounds are well kept. The office/laundry was very cluttered. The restrooms were reasonably clean but both the mens and womens showers had hair in them and smelled a bit moldy. We camped at Buffalo Run Campground in a Motorhome.

Tight spaces and very close to your neighbor, but we didn't go to spend a bunch of time at the RV! Dusty when dry and huge puddles when rainy! We camped at Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Lavaland RV Park, Grants, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Being Labor Day weekend, I called a week in advance to make a reservation. The reservation was very lax, all they wanted was my name. I was camping here with several friends so I asked to be grouped together, they said no problem. When we showed up, there were 3 men in the office, very friendly. I was able to park next to one of my friends, but there was already someone else on the other side, so the last to arrive was not right next to us. We based here to go Jeeping in the area and the park staff as well as the full time residents were very friendly and visited with us about the local area. The park is rather old and could use a little work to make it nice. It is right next to I-40, so there was some road noise, but not enough to keep us from sleeping. The restrooms needed to be stocked with toilet paper. As stated in other reviews, the spots are a little tight, but my class C fit under the branches just fine. No trouble connecting to the WiFi, but it is unsecured with no password protection. For the price, I'd stay again. We camped at Lavaland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort, Creede, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The Wi-Fi was either slow as molasses or didn't work. Due to the resort size, this park tends to have an elitist feel to it. I felt as if my class C was barely adequate to be allowed. I stayed here last year and when I called for a reservation on January 2, I asked for a spot that faced North so that I could have the afternoon shade. They said that they save those for the long-term occupants. It is obvious that they cater to monthly occupants over shorter stays. Also, the non-refundable deposit that they took when I booked was the $210 weekly rate rather than the first night as most places charge. Mosquitoes were an issue in the evenings. Otherwise, it is a nice place. We camped at Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Red Rock Park, Churchrock, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a decent place for an overnight stay. It gets you far enough away from the railroad tracks and I-40 to be quiet. This park is run by the city and not attended full time. We arrived on a Saturday, picked a site, then a city worker came to collect the fee that evening. Restroom keys are given on request. There are hiking trails that look to head into beautiful country. Many of the trash bins were full. There were four other occupants and a majority of the sites were unused. I did not count the number of sites. The park itself is not much to look at but the backdrop is very pretty. I would stay overnight again. We camped at Red Rock Park in a Motorhome.

Prairie RV Park, Elkhart, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice little park. It is located on the North side of town on Highway 56 at E. Point Rock Street. There are no restrooms or laundry. It is right next to a car wash that is also part of this establishment. It is self-pay. You enter behind the car wash and fill out a payment envelope. The first two rows (1-12) are pull throughs and the last row are back-ins. Each site is nice and wide, covered with pea-gravel with grass between each site. There are some trees, but not positioned to give any shade to the site. Sites have 20,30,50 Amp hookups. This was an overnight stop for us as we visited family in town. There was some mention of internet access on sign at the pay station, but it said to call the campground phone number. Nice quiet place to spend the night. We camped at Prairie RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort, Creede, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here with our 4WD club. The park is great! We were in site 141 which had grass at its side. The restrooms and showers were always well kept as well as the grounds. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The park is celebrating its 10th anniversary. There are three Wi-Fi connections to choose from in the park and I did not have any issues connecting. Connection speed was great. It is the only RV park in Creede, but a good one. We will return. We camped at Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Little Creel Resort, Chama, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2008 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this park because we were traveling with family who stayed in a cabin at this park. Being frugal, we chose a Standard Back-In site. These sites are on the North end of the park and closer to the highway. These particular sites are packed very close together. The rest of the sites are behind a row of cabins. The patrons of this park totally disregarded the 5 mph speed limit even though it is posted at least 4 times along the row that our site was on. In hind sight, it would probably been worth the extra $2 per night for a Premium Back-In site as they are further away from the highway and spaced further apart. All of the picnic tables and riverfront decks were very weathered or broken. The web site states cable TV as one of the amenities, but is only available in the cabins. The cabin that our family rented was not very clean. In fact, there was still hair in the bathtub drain. When we made reservations, we indicated that we would have a dog staying in the cabin and would be crated inside while we rode the train. The person on the phone offered that they would come and let the dog out in the middle of the day for us. When we arrived, they said that they did not know who told us that and they would not let the dog out. As far as this place being called a "resort", that is a big stretch. We camped at Little Creel Resort in a Motorhome.
