If you're headed to Rock Springs, you only have a couple of choices, and this is probably one of the better ones. First, it's off of the freeway, so the noise level (on non-race nights) is good. They recently re-did the campsites with new fencing and new electrical/water/sewage hookups. We had some problems with the electrical, but moved to another spot, and everything ended up working. The bathrooms (located in the indoor arena building) were fairly clean with the exception of the shower stalls which hadn't been thoroughly cleaned for some time. Relatively speaking, this was a nice spot, and our dog loved the freedom and other animals located on the grounds.

Great site! Only 1 1/2 years old; everything was still new, clean and working properly. We were greeted by a great staff member and treated to clean bathrooms, laundry and showers. Our site was well laid out with a concrete pad, grassy area, and small gravel for the trailer. The place is pet and kid friendly. The only downside to this site is the train noise constantly throughout the night. For some reason, all the trains blew their whistles around the area of the campground. I counted at least 5 trains in the middle of the night.

There are three levels of sites at this park, privately-owned, very nice sites, and the rest we called middle and lower-class (they are named middle and lower campsites). The disparity between top portion and the rest was staggering and quite disappointing, especially for the price. We were placed in the lower campsites, near the stream. While the common areas (pool, spa and main building) were nice, the middle and lower areas were like the ghettos in comparison. The bathroom and shower building was run down with broken windows, peeling paint and mildew-ridden showers. The trailer sites were covered with large sharp rocks (terribly painful for pets) and thorny weeds, making it uncomfortable for my kids. There is a large grassy area next to the stream which would have been excellent for our dog, but we were scolded by the manager for having her off leash, yelling, "You signed the paper!" in his European accent. (There was absolutely no-one camping there at the time). We were so surprised by his strong harassing reaction, we decided we would never again stay there.
