Very disappointed. If you want to be near the bathrooms, you will most likely be in full sun! NO RANGER PRESENCE from Thursday until Sat a.m. No rangers overnight. Friday night party group drinking, yelling, cursing and running around campgrounds until 4 a.m.! Another camper had large puppy unleashed all evening and night - while he was with the party people. Then spent 4 a.m. until 5 a.m. whistling and hollering all around the campground for dog! No hiking trails. Most likely will not return.

We stayed on site 131 which was in the South Campground. It was across from the bathroom. Very private site. The only camper we could see was the one directly across the road from us. Definitely need 100 feet of electric cord. Pros: Secluded, shaded site. The North Campground did not seem to have as many secluded sites, but they were also larger sites. Lots of walking possibilities; throughout the two campgrounds and on the trails. Private rooms for showers - I liked that! Cleaning schedule for bathrooms adhered to. Cons: We were warned there was a lot of poison ivy, including at the campsites, so extreme caution was used, especially with our dog. Mosquitoes seemed abundant, even though it's been a dry summer. Bees around the campsite, although they seemed sluggish and did not attack, even when batted at! We will definitely plan to return. Enjoyed the quiet and the privacy of our site.

We really liked this campground. We do not use the beach, so the distance to the beach was of no concern to us. Hiking trail was great, although more hilly than we realized. Bathrooms were very clean. Soap and hand dryers too! Our site was 49, right around the corner from the bathroom which was convenient. We had a wooded area behind us and shrubs and trees on the end lot. So the only campers by us were on one side (our backside) and across the road from us. We felt the site was wonderfully secluded. It did get noisy with kids in the evening but by dark, all was quiet. Rangers very friendly. Equestrian campground was fun to walk through. Will definitely return.
