This place was great!!! I'm not sure what the other reviewers have against this place, but for us, it worked out awesome!! The people were friendly, there was lots to do for the kids, the bathrooms and showers were spotless, and we liked it so much that we stayed here twice in a week while traveling to another place. This is one of the better KOA's that we have stayed at and I will definitely stay here again if I'm in the northern California area again.

Like the past reviewers have said, this place needs some TLC! But if you can handle dry camping at it's most, and waves crashing close to you, then this place is good. My only complaint is that the only sites really worth it are sites 2-9. Beyond that, there are a lot of big rocks you need to climb over in order to get to the water. But this place worked for an overnight stay for us.

This was a nice park with only a couple hiccups. First, the showers in the female showers were clean minus the hair and gum in the drain that my wife had to clean but it was not that big of deal. Then our pull-through site had an uphill battle with the sewage hose. Yes, the drain is uphill from the rig. Other than those two things, this place is nice, the people are friendly, and I would stay here again if I'm in the area.

This place is only good for an overnight stay and nothing else! There are no fire pits, no picnic tables at the site, and way too many full-timers for my liking. The only redeeming factors for this place are the low prices, full hook-ups, and closeness to some fast food joints for a quick bite to eat. But I wouldn't stay here for more than one night.

This is a great park if you are in the San Diego area!! It is clean, well run, the people are very nice, and my site was even raked for me when I got there!! It is about 20 minutes outside of San Diego, but the price is the best for what you get. I have heard of an ant issue there, but I didn't have one myself. The bathrooms are spotless, and the store is very well packed! The ONLY reason I did not give this place a 10 is the fact that there are no fire rings or pits. You have to bring your own if you want a campfire. My family and I spent 4 nights there and while it was a nice time, a campfire would have just been great! We will camp there again though.

We camped here and were very satisfied. They took my 11th hour reservation and got us in the same area with friends. Sure the park is being renovated, but hey, KOA just took over last October of '09. When finished, this park will be a top rate park. I give it a top rating as it was when we were here. It was nice, quiet, and very peaceful. I would definitely recommend this park to stay at.

I can say that my family and I loved this park. It was clean, well run, and enjoyable. It is close to all San Diego attractions and it served us well for our two days at Sea World. The staff was very nice and helpful with any question I had. They have a well stocked store. The bathrooms and showers were very clean even though I did not use them, I did check. This is our top pick of campgrounds in the San Diego area. (We did survey the others) This park was about as perfect as you can get. I give no park a "10", but this was as close it came to it. We would definitely stay here again.

This park is definitely a VERY clean park. It is brand new, I was told that they finished it in Oct. of '06. This is by far the nicest park I have stayed in. Everything worked great, the 50 amp service, water, sewage, and evey thing else. The only reason I gave it an 8 out of 10 is because of a few things. First, the walk to the beach is a very long one. I suggest you bring bikes or a tow vehicle. Second, the rules are very tight or at least that's the feeling my wife and I got. It is more than likely because it is so new. Finally, the smell of sewage was pretty strong at times, but not that often. Once again, probably because it is such a new park. There is stuff to do with that kids. The pool was spotless as well as the facilities around it. Also in the sister property next to the CG, (El Capitan Canyon) which is a short walk, they had a band playing on Saturday night which was a lot of fun for my 2.5 year old daughter. The price is a tad on the steep side, but overall it is a nice getaway for a family.

This is our second time camping here. It is a great campground with lots of activities for the kids. Like previous reviews have said, there are different campgrounds for different types of camping. We enjoyed ourselves very much. I do need to give this word of warning to my fellow campers who come here. If you are going to go to the store across the street from campground F to buy anything, look for and find the expiration date! My wife was buying medicine for my 2 year old daughter and she found medicine that had an expiration date of August 2005! Not only that, but the price tag was deliberately put over the expiration date, so you NEED to look! But over than this, it is a real nice campground to stay in.

Well we were back this August like my last reviews says. As stated before, it was a good trip. The staff is very helpful, the park is clean, & the marina is nice. The only thing that I discovered this time that I didn't last time is the fact that the bathroom stalls in the mens room have no locks which I found to be strange. But anyway, the park is nice and there are some full-timers there, but you would never know by how clean they keep the sites. This park is definitely recommended by me.

This park is very nice. My family and friends visited this park in August and it was just awesome. The staff there treated us very nice and were willing to answer any questions that we had. Myself, and a friend rented a slip for the weekend at the marina which was very nice to be able to boat and fish during the day. It is full hookups all I saw was 30 amp service, maybe they have 50 amp elsewhere in the park, but I'm not sure. The lakefront sites are by far the best, although other sites are cheaper. We enjoyed this park so much, that we are already making plans for next August. I would definitely recommend this park to everyone.

I love this campground personally. I've been camping here since 1976 with my mom and dad, and now I do it with my wife and child. Just got back from a great weekend there. This park has full-hookups as well as non-hookups. I like the non-hookups better just for the fact that in the full-hookups, you're in a parking lot type of setting. The beach is right there and it is beautiful, but you are right next to the guy next to you. It is a very well maintained park and a great place to camp! The biggext reason I enjoy it is probably because niether the campground or the town of Carpinteria has changed in the 25 plus years I've been going there. This is a highly recommended campground.

This RV park is a nice one. It has pull-through at just about every site and it also has tent sites. My wife and myself have stayed here a few times since April, and enjoy it for a quick little get-a-way. This campground has sites open all the time except on the big weekends during the spring and summer. The night activities are nice. I believe they still have kareoke on the weekend nights, and security isn't all that tough on the noise level as long as you don't get too loud. The only couple of issues with this campground are: (a) the walk to the beach is a long one. You are across the freeway from the beach, but if you are into a nice walk, then this is for you. (b) During the winter months and the rainy season, this campground floods really easy! Other than that it is a great little full hookup campground to go to if you just want to relax with a capitol "R". We will continue to come here periodically.
