Scandia RV & Mobile Park, Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Shady park with reasonably easy entry and exit, and located close to downtown Bend. Staff very polite and accommodating. WiFi was perfect! As close to having your personal WiFi at home! Cable TV was not acceptable, but we hardly watched TV. Very clean park. Very convenient park. A little high priced for the amenities, but offset by the location! Definitely would return to this park. We camped at Scandia RV & Mobile Park in a Travel Trailer.

Close to Fred Meyer, and downtown. Kayaked Cascade Lakes and the main road to those lakes was within a mile or so of this RV park.

North Shore Campground, Chester, California

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a dust bowl! Stayed 3 nights. Have never seen this much dust in a CG before, other than a rare state CG. Biggest problem was electricity to to our section of the campground....we often lost all power as the voltage dropped below 100 and our surge protector shut down. The heat induced many others to use AC, a draw on their grid supply which the transformer could not handle. We were told that the owner is going to replace that particular transformer. Twisty one lane road throughout park, which seems to work well enough for two way traffic with some limited turnouts. Entry lane is in need of repair. Must be a very popular CG, because every site was occupied. Our site location had much loose dirt, was very uneven side to side, and the utility connections were difficult to identify at first. The lake was beautiful and the sight of Mt Lassen was gorgeous. We were told by one resident who spends several months a year at this CG that finally the lake water level was high enough to launch boats and kayaks from the shoreline. The staff: courteous and helpful. Met the owner who was empathic to our electrical conundrum but there was no hint of lowering the rate. Weather was clear but hot that weekend. Algae bloom on the water was moderate. No warning issued to stay out of water. Comfort station: only one in the entire park! There were scattered ports-potties throughout the park. We camped at North Shore Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

In defense of the owner and staff: Apparently the owner is attempting to upgrade the campground with planned improvements. The staff was courteous, kind and empathetic to all who had problems. A very popular site...lots of families, tents, bicycles, kayaks, and fishermen this particular weekend.

Cranberry RV Park, Long Beach, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here twice this year. Terry, the manager, is extremely accommodating and friendly. The "good": VERY quiet; wide grass sites; easy entrance and exit; close to ocean; convenient utilities. The "not so good": Cable TV is a real headache for them in dealing with the cable co. They compensate well given their obstacles. A resident on site connects a box to your TV and has to call the cable company to register the box for use....a real pain for him, but he does so with a smile. Restrooms are very dated but always clean. A meeting room is available and convenient. A few "friendly" mosquitoes visit, but not overpowering...after all this is cranberry bog country! ...a pleasant experience! We camped at Cranberry RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tri-Mountain RV Park, Ridgefield, Washington

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for about 3 months while our new home was being built in Ridgefield.

Assets: Very close to I-5...in fact, a little too close for all the noise, but incredibly convenient for overnighters; wide, accommodating ( spacious) paved sites; very friendly and responsive on-location staff; room for second vehicle adjacent to RV; well maintained utilities; easy entry and egress to I-5 ( especially large rigs); eateries within walking distance. Clean, neat park. Over air TV reception excellent.

Cons: Lousy WiFi! Upper management (not on site) seemingly unresponsive to letters or phone calls from visitors / longer term residents to address these concerns. ONE male / female restroom for 70 spaces! One male / female shower-both coin operated ( ! ) No cable TV. Two clothes washers for entire park. ( one "bath house")

When we stayed here, the shower/BR paucity was not an inconvenience because the park was only half full. We camped at Tri-Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

About 10 miles South to Costco (West, Padden Parkway exit off I-205) Easy access to Vancouver, Wa, or PDX, PDX airport ( I-205) of downtown Portland ( I-5). Fred Meyer's off I-205 exit 164th St to the West

If headed South, avoid SB I-5 for the most part- take I-205 bypass. The I-5 / I-205 split is about 6 miles South of the park. If traveling North toward this park on I-5, strongly suggest using I-205 which is the lesser of two evils when headed North.

Roamer's Rest RV Park, Tualatin, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed there while a new home was being built for about 3 months, enjoying the facilities, the personnel, and the proximity to the Tualatin River...solid, level pads; utilities very well maintained; reasonably easy entry and egress to the campground. Immediately close to 99W. WiFi is acceptable but not spectacular. Over the air TV reception excellent, cable acceptable. We camped at Roamer's Rest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Traffic patterns on 99W are at times quite congested. There is reasonably good access to I-5 thru via Durham Rd and thus North to PDX, or South to the "wine country"... Best shopping on Tualatin-Sherwood Rd near I-5 or one exit North to a fabulous shopping center, or one exit South to Costco.

Roamer's Rest RV Park, Tualatin, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here from July thru Oct. after we sold our home, waiting for our new home to be completed. The staff was exceptionally accommodating and courteous. The park was always well maintained and essentially spotless. Cement pads, good utilities, better than average WiFi, roomy, and quiet, even tho adjacent to 99W. Entrance and exit onto busy hwy, but nominal negative.

We stayed in the upper level for the first two months, (site # 14- no Sat TV) with lots of shade and then moved to the lower level with open spaces and access to Sat. TV. Very busy park, but worth every ounce of patience to secure reservation! We camped at Roamer's Rest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort, Coos Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Roads were dusty, camping slots as well. Fairly run down overall; but very popular CG; very busy with traffic. No working cable connection. Next to ocean and very nice walking beach. Sunset Bay Day Use site near ...beautiful beach--kayakers take note! Would probably not return here, but overall it was adequate for our needs at the time. Skamokawa Vista Park, Skamokawa, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Months ago we reserved a full hookup site with TV satellite access, and upon arrival we were placed in a slot with only electric--no water or sewer, or TV. (Obviously a miscommunication between us somewhere along the line.) Nonetheless we enjoyed the CG. It is situated on the Columbia River and the shore line is very close to the shipping channel. This is a wonderful site for kayakers, and the Columbia River Kayaking shop is nearby--tours, rentals, etc. The nearby comfort station only has one shower (!) (there are two comfort stations,I believe) and only one "john" per gender. Adequate, but not plush. We will return soon (different camp slot). Great kayaking! We camped at Skamokawa Vista Park in a Travel Trailer.

Easy entry and egress from/to #101. Arrived and left in the dark as we were returning home. Sites a little narrow but level and paved. RR facilities clean. Pool closed. Cypress Morro Bay RV & MHP, Morro Bay, California

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is for average for month's stay, including access to BR and electricity. Average daily rate is $38. We have stayed here many times for a month or longer each time. Very friendly owners and the RV park is situated in Morro Bay itself within walking distance to the downtown and the Embarcadero. Not many extra amenities, but Wi-Fi is superb! Will definitely return. We camped at Cypress Morro Bay RV & MHP in a Travel Trailer.

Would rate this RV park as a 10 but much too expensive vis-a-vis other comparable parks. Wi-Fi marginal. Level sites, some not paved. Clean rest rooms. Easy entry and egress. Will not likely return unless charges become more reasonable. We camped at Wine Country RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
