Park Ridge RV Campground, Van Buren, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before and it is a nice park. Thing is I justb saw on the news it is flooded due to Lee Creek flooding from all the rain we have. It will probably be a while before it is usable. So sad as the is the best RV oark in the Fort Smith Van Buren area, We camped at Park Ridge RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Spencers RV Park, Paris, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Still an ok park for overnight. We had stayed here before and it seems they have done some work on the park. It is behind an RV dealership with some long term folks. Lots of empty sites when we were here. Wifi is ok but TV is limited off antenna. We camped at Spencers RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rockdale RV Park, Rockdale, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before. An OK overnight park. Cable TV is a little fuzzy and we couldn't get a Wi-Fi signal as we were too far from the office. We were in a pull-throug where you first come in. Train nearby but we didn't hear it at night. I would stay here again. We camped at Rockdale RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Coastal Oaks RV Resort, Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Rate based on monthly rate of $300 with electric extra at .14 a KWH. The managers are great and very helpful. Nice concrete pads and concrete roads. Hot tub if you give notice for them to heat it up. Pool looked good but not heated so I didn't used either the pool or the hot tub. Really nice park in town but far enough from highway for no noise. We were here for 4 months in the winter and are going back next year. Decent Wi-Fi and cable TV low def and fuzzy picture but OK. We camped at Coastal Oaks RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Colorado Landing, La Grange, Texas

Overall Rating:

Price is PA. Nice RV park with big wide roads and good size sites. The Wi-Fi is down and probably won't be repaired according to the owner. Cable TV is good. Not much other then the Wi-Fi I can comment on. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Colorado Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Hwy 155 RV Park, Palestine, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A great park to stay at in Palestine. Great rate with cable TV and an owner that really cares. A lot of long term residents and the short term folks are down by pond with some ducks and a couple of horses. The Wi-Fi leaves something to be desired but other than that a good park. I had some RV problems and the owner went way out of his way to help me. Good hook ups and cable TV. We camped at Hwy 155 RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park Ridge RV Campground, Van Buren, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for 3 months. Compared to the other parks in the area this was the best choice. It is $325 a month for rent, $30 for internet and $37.5 for cable TV which worked out to $392.50. There are a lot of trees for shade in the summer and it is on Lee Creek. Of course the trees deposit sap on your rig if you are here long term. They are pecan trees so you hear them fall on the roof but you can harvest them. Lots of friendly long term residents in the back by the road. The owners are on site but not always available. There is a campground dog Snoopy that is friendly and someone dumped a dog off while we there for the long term residents to fed that was friendly. We acquired a kitten while there as someone dumped it. The wifi worked good and the only TV is off the cable which is included in the nightly rate. When in the area I would stay here again. We camped at Park Ridge RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Paradise in the Woods RV Park, Strafford, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

An OK campground for the price. Good hookups, level site, long pull-through so I didn't have to unhook. Owner is real accommodating and friendly. TV off the antenna. Close to the interstate so some road noise. We didn't hear it inside with the A/C going. I would stay here again. Pretty good Wi-Fi. We camped at Paradise in the Woods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Rate is for 30 amp Passport America. Water and electric with a dump station. Friendly owner in a nice campground. Lots of seasonal family campers. It looks like a fun place for families. Nice and quiet and well off the Interstate. Can't beat the place for the price and I would definitely stay here again. Wi-Fi is pretty good and some TV off the antenna. We camped at Timber Trails Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Haven Retreat, Indianapolis, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Not a lot of choices for the area, but this is the best one for me. Not a park with frills but for an overnight stay it is good. Nice level gravel site by a pond (watch where you step cause of the geese). Wi-Fi was good, owner friendly and helpful, good hookups. I would stay here again. Lots of permanent guests, so if that bothers you this isn't your place. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Fifth Wheel.

Dayton KOA, Brookville, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

I swore I would NEVER stay at this place again but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. We have family in Huber Heights and this was the closest we could find. At $49 it is probably a usual KOA price but still way overpriced for what I got. Tight space with roads with rocks and trees fairly close so with a fifth wheel it was a tight turn at times. When I got to the site, the location of the electric hookup (the middle of the trailer) didn't allow me to stay back on the site with the tow out of the road. The teenagers running the place could care less about the guests. Fuzzy cable TV ( Direct off a dish I guess ); I finally used the antenna to get a decent picture. Wi-Fi that was slow to nonexistent. They charge guests $5 to come see you, and they have to park out in the north 40 with a dark walk back to their car in the evening. The sewer cap was so tight I couldn't get it loose and had to call for maintenance to come remove it, which they did at their leisure. I swear I will NEVER stay there again. It would be tolerable at a Passport America rate of maybe $25. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Maple Lakes Recreational Park, Seville, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

GS rate. We don't have dogs and were just staying for one night so no gate key was needed. WiFi was good in site 150. Nice grassy site and it did take a little leveling but we were good front to back. Fairly close to I-71 and I-76 so it was easy to get to. I would stay here again. It does look like a summer place for families. Lake and pool but didn't fish and didn't swim. Just wanted a quiet place for the night and got it. We camped at Maple Lakes Recreational Park in a Motorhome.

Shangri-La Park Campground, St. Catharines, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I notice this park hasn't been reviewed for a while so I'll update it. We stayed one night in a nice pull through. The person checking us in was friendly and helpful. It does seem to be a seasonal park and place for families. The site we had was large with well manicured grass and I would stay here again. Someone gave it high ratings and that is why we stayed. Not too far from the Welland Canal and Niagara Falls. We camped at Shangri-La Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Carol's Campsite and RV Park, Sudbury, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I have never given this low a rating to a campground before. The people checking us in were teen age girls who didn't have a clue. They gave us a site to go to and when we got there it was occupied. When I called them they really didn't know what to do and were confused. I suggested the site next to us and they checked and said that would be ok. I pulled in and it looked like the hookups were on the wrong side go I got the 5th wheel turned around and hooked up and discovered that the hookups for the site I was on was on the other side originally. It got worked out ok. The Wi-Fi is non existent. If I could have found another place to stay I would. We camped at Carol's Campsite and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
