Turf Paradise Trailer Park, Phoenix, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This trailer park has mostly permanent residents along with some seasonal track employees of the horse race track next door. There are, however, several overnight sites along with several sites for longer short term residents with metered electric payable through the electric company. My husband got a job in the area, so we were staying here until we found more permanent accommodations. The pool was closed for the better part of our stay. It had apparently been closed for almost a year. It did finally open, and it was heated and nice. The hot tub is just that, a hot tub of water, no jets. There are about a thousand stray cats that like to use the entire park as their litter box. The whole place smells like cat urine. You will also, inevitably, step on cat feces in your very own site. The park and the area around it have many nice people, but is also sprinkled with seedy folks. All four of our mountain bikes, which were locked, were stolen during our stay! The "24-hour security" is a joke. The cameras, which were right across from our motorhome, were said to be pointed in the wrong direction to see the thieves. I suspect they are simply there for show. The night security guard sat about 25 feet from where all the bikes were stolen. We camped at Turf Paradise Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you must stay here, use a sturdy CHAIN on your belongings and step carefully. I felt it necessary to keep myself armed while walking my dog.

Ocala Sun RV Resort, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a decent campground. The sites are grassy, and the roads are paved. There is a gate with a code to enter the park. I like that security feature. The pool looked great, but we were not able to swim in it due to the weather while we were there. There is a fenced area for dogs to play, and a dog bath. There was also a walking trail. There was no playground. Although the map showed an activity area with mini golf, there was no mini golf course there. It was still a well kept park, for a very reasonable rate. I would stay in this park again if I needed a place to stay while visiting family in the area. We camped at Ocala Sun RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Orlando / Kissimmee KOA, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We had a very pleasant stay at this campground. We came for a visit to some of the amusement parks in the area. The pool and hot tub were clean and very nice. The laundry area was also clean and was open 24 hours. The roads were paved (perfect for riding a bike). If I had to pick out something that could use improvement, I would have to say it would be the playground. The playground is only for very young children. The campground was super clean and well kept. The rates were extremely reasonable considering the area. I was a little nervous when we first found it, as it is located right in the middle of a very active area. There was no security gate, but we never noticed any issues whatsoever during our stay. The manager was very nice, and very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again! We camped at Orlando / Kissimmee KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Kountry Air RV Park, Prattville, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a few days while visiting family in the area. The camp owners/managers were extremely friendly and accommodating. There are dirt roads and a very small playground. It was not the season for the pool to be open, so we did not use it. We were just looking for a place in the area with full hookups, that wasn't just a parking lot. There are lots of trees and grass, and very friendly people at this campground. We will definitely stay there again if we go back to visit. We camped at Kountry Air RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whispering Pines Campground, Morehead City, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Whispering Pines is a very nice campground. It is made up of mostly permanent sites. Everyone was very nice. The roads are paved. The pool is wonderful. There were no scheduled events; but we don't participate in scheduled events, so this was not an issue for us. The playground is very small, but the kids spent most of their time in the pool and riding bikes on the paved roads. This campground is very well taken care of; incredibly clean and tidy. We camped at Whispering Pines Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Shelby / Mansfield KOA, Shelby, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2008 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

This is really a fantastic campground. It has a very nice playground and pool. There were lots of staff members around wearing KOA shirts, and they were all very helpful. The site we stayed in was a pull-through site, and it was huge. It even had a small tree on it that did provide a little shade. We really had a perfect camping experience in this campground. We will definitely go back! We camped at Shelby / Mansfield KOA in a Motorhome.

Kinzua East KOA, Bradford, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is very nice. The kids loved the little playground. It is also very close to Kinzua Dam. The pool was beautiful, although it was too cold to swim in it the weekend we were there. Some sites were deep in the woods, others were out in the open. I had to guess on the number of sites because I think there were a lot more in the woods that we didn't see. There was a bear that visited the dumpster nightly, and once during the day. Needless to say, I did not let the kids wander at all. I did not see that any activities were planned other than a pancake breakfast. This would be a very nice place to stay if you were in the area for a different activity and just needed a nice quiet place to sleep. We camped at Kinzua East KOA in a Motorhome.
