Amarillo KOA, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find from Hwy 40. Check-in was a breeze. You will hear the train often during the day and night. Cabin was clean and close to the restrooms and showers. We were tired from a long day of travel. They offered pizza at a reasonable price and even offered to deliver it to our cabin. It saved us from getting out that night during bad weather. We were on a motorcycle. Price reflects the extra $10.00 pet fee. We would stay here again. We camped at Amarillo KOA in a Campground Cabin.

Cochiti Lake COE , Pena Blanca, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed on the Tetilla side of the lake. Quiet, peaceful, very few others camping there. Sites are not close together. It is a 9 mile drive from Hwy 16 back to the campground. It will take you about 30 minutes or more to get to Santa Fe and longer to get down to the plaza. We had great cell phone reception which surprised us. This is a COE campground so it is nothing extra however you can do laundry and there is a small store/gas station in the little town of Chochiti. Park attendant was rarely there and we hardly ever had a "ranger" drive through. We camped at Cochiti Lake COE in a Tent Trailer.

Arrow Rock State Historic Site, Arrow Rock, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in site 37. You can reserve many sites on the Missouri State Parks website and see pics too. The bathrooms and the showers are small but then so is the campground. The historic town of Arrow Rock is a very short drive to / from the campground. Fun little general store, ice cream shop, historic arrow rock tavern for dining and if you are there in the summer give the Lyceum Theater summer stock a try. Visitor center is a nice visit too and gives you a feel of the history from the area. This is a very quiet, relaxing place. It is 13 miles off of in interstate so be sure you have some gas in your tank before you head off the interstate to Arrow Rock. We camped at Arrow Rock State Historic Site in a Tent Trailer.

Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) , Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2008 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Prices are why to high when you have to go to another location to shower and do laundry. There were no bear boxes at the campsites so we had to take our ice chest, and other items up to the office and use their bear box. Made it very tiresome when you wanted to brush your teeth, etc. When you are traveling on a motorcycle you are limited to how much you can put in your "vehicle". We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Tent Trailer.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2008 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We just returned from this campground where we stayed in a tiny pop-up we pull behind our motorcycle. We loved this campground. Staff was friendly, and helpful. Clean restrooms, showers and facilities. I wish they offered free Wi-Fi for the prices they charge. We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park in a Tent Trailer.
