Misty Mountain Camp Resort, Crozet, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2005 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a bit too primitive in its care of the facility. The overall look is disheveled, and somewhat dirty. The personnel were not the friendliest. Campsites are not numbered, at least where they might be visible. We have no idea if we were in the right site or not. We will not return We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA, Staunton, Virginia

Date of Stay: March, 2005 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground, sites are relatively close to each other, roads are decent, lots of area to take the pups for a long walk, gravel areas should be larger, and better aligned with the hookups. To be hooked up properly, half the truck had to be on the grass instead of the gravel. We will probably try another campground if we are in that area again. We camped at Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2005 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

It's a wonderful place about 15 minutes from Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, as well as Black Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The campsite is beautiful, has great views, gorgeous woodlands, a real waterfall and rushing mountain streams, is immaculate, and the owners are friendly, hospitable and helpful. The campsites are quite level, especially for being located on a mountain, and all are equiped with the same water, dump, cable and electrical hookups. The showers, bath and laundry room are spotless. Staying there contributed to our realization that we did not plan enough time for that beautiful area of this great country of ours. We will go back, and I will not even consider another site in the area. I would rate it a 12 out of 10. We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome.

Spring Gulch Resort Campground, New Holland, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: November, 2004 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground. Mountain sites are very roomy and separated by about 20' of woods. Lots of hiking/walking trails makes it great for the pups. People are nice and the electric gate adds some security. We will return there, since we like the Lancaster area. We camped at Spring Gulch Resort Campground in a Motorhome.
