Battle Run COE, Summersville, West Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here Memorial Day Weekend and enjoyed a very relaxing time. Enjoyed kayaking and hiking across the dykes. Very nice campground. Lots are spacious and offer some shade. Site surface is gravel and features a fire ring and picnic table. Hard to get into during the summer months but worth it if you can. We camped at Battle Run COE in a Travel Trailer.

Sweetwater Lake Campground, Saint Matthews, South Carolina

Date of Stay: January, 2006 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This was a perfect spot to stop over for the night on our trip from WV to FL. The campground was quiet. We arrived around 10:00 pm, put our money in the drop box and parked and slept. Nothing fancy and would not recommend for an extended stay. We camped at Sweetwater Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Greenbrier State Forest Campground, Caldwell, West Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

I gave this campground a 5 rating because although it was quiet, peaceful and relaxing, it lacked a lot. There really wasn't anything for my 2 young daughters to do. The playground was too far to walk or ride your bike. There also is no dump station at this campground. The showers were somewhat nasty. My wife refused to take a shower. The bathroooms were clean. It is pretty small and may be suitable for an overnight stay since it is only about 5 minutes from I-64 at White Sulpher Springs. We camped at Greenbrier State Forest Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Summersville Lake Retreat, Mt. Nebo, West Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Camped here for a week in July and really enjoyed our stay. The campground is peaceful and the hosts were extremely friendly. This campground is an excellent overnight stop for north to south travellers. The only fault I found was that our dump valve was lower than the outlet in the ground so dumping was difficult. I would recommend this campground and will be back for another stay sometime. We camped at Summersville Lake Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

Flintlock Campground, Boone, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2005 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Felt the sites were very close together. Not very much privacy. Had a problem when I went to dump, my connection just happened to be stopped up, but I didn't know it until I was dumping. Sites were hard to back into and the sites across the road were also close making it harder to back into my site. Owners were very nice and friendly. Not much for my kids to do except for a small playground. I will probably not visit this campground again due to the fact it is about 4 hours away. We camped at Flintlock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pipestem Resort State Park, Pipestem, West Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2005 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. I have always enjoyed Pipestem, but the campground is a little tight. The site we had (19) was very narrow and both sides dropped off. It was a very private site though and we enjoyed our stay. We will go back since it is only about 45 minutes from our home. Our kids had a good time, especially on the playground. We camped at Pipestem Resort State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Camp Creek State Park, Camp Creek, West Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2005 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We live about 30 minutes from this campground and decided to take an overnight stay for our initial trip in our new camper. We loved this CG and will go back again. Very peaceful night along the little creek that runs next to the CG. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.
