After having driven some 300 miles to inspect CG for possible seasonal camping; agreeing to a potential waterfront site and wanting to leave a deposit, was told later by owner (following 4 unanswered phone calls) that I had been shown the wrong lot and it was not available. However, a smaller less accessible lot was available. Be aware of CG's COMPUTER SYSTEM!!! Also, was told that I couldn't have had the lot I wanted because other seasonal campers had first rights of refusal, but also had been told there were no other names on the list for that particular lot. MASS CONFUSION!!!! Was also told when I asked why owner hadn't returned my calls (after being given messages 3 times), "maybe you should just go somewhere else to find a place. "Now that's HOSPITITALITY!!! CG advertises waterfront sites, but they are not available as they are occupied by yearly campers! A lake view is obtained by walking around other TT to possibly see some water.

Stayed at Compton Ridge North. Not accommodating to 36' and up 5th wheels. Nearly impossible site accessiblity (had to use site across just to be able to back in with 2 other people guiding). Tore roof due to overhanging tree branches on site. Sites very narrow! CG could use some thinning out of trees and brush. Indoor pool N/A at this time. Was ready to leave by the next morning!

Stopped here overnight enroute to Idaho having previously made reservations. Sites unlevel, narrow, bathrooms nasty and permanent party next to us decided to make renovations to his travel trailer from 1-4 A.M. using a chain saw? He had previously been intoxicated, starting and riding dirt bikes through CG until 12 A.M. Found no one at office, took matters into my own hands. Asked camper(?) for a little respect at that time of the morning (4 A.M.) Security listed in Woodall's was non-existent! Access to CG is some 2-3 mi. from I-70 down winding, dusty gravel roads. Other campers had left trash at their campsites instead of the provided dumpsters. We could not wait until daylight to get out of "deliverance country"! If you are this desperate to park for the night, continue on to Columbia and "Wal-Mart" it!
